Keep in mind when you are looking at 'great' fares, that Frontier will charge you for carryon bags (you get one 'personal' item for free) as well as for checked bags and to choose your seat. For us, it was $8 each to select a seat (so we could sit with our children), $15 for each checked bag. If you don't pay for checked or carry-on bags at check in, it's even more at the gate. Oh and you can't do the online check in until 24 hours before your flight. Not such a big deal at home, but at the resort, I had to schlep down to the business center to print boarding passes. AoA had a bank of computers to do that, but still, it took time out of my vacation.
We each carried one personal item, which was a backpack. On our flight to MCO, I was so shocked that we had to pay to select a seat, that I put it off, and then our only choice to seat our family together was to pay $20 each for the extra legroom seats. Also keep in mind that these fees are only one way, so this added an extra $202 to a family of four. (We took only 3 suitcases for 4 people). Not such a bargain after all.
