Hi Lisa, Carly would be interested in getting to know your daughter before the cruise. Does she text (what teenager doesn't) or is she on facebook? PM me the information if she's interested.

We just started homeschooling. Carly has hated public school since she was little. She's a serious student and finally got fed-up with teachers having to deal with kids who goofed off instead of teach. She goes to school 1 1/2 days a week at a small, Christian "homeschool" and does all the lessons at home. We'll just have to get everything in advance. This cruise is a life lesson that can't be passed up.

Our last cruise was the first one we've done much Dis stuff on. We didn't have a specific day to pass out FE gifts. We just did little bits at a time and eventually got everyone.

I like all the logo designs so far. I think the Wonderama would work for men and women.

I'm up for pre-cruise meets too. We live in the DFW area. We'll also be at WDW Oct. 16-23 and Dec. 18-26 and then sometime this summer. Just pm me if anyone is interested.

Elizabeth isn't on facebook but I will help her sign up and yes she does text all the time.. I am on facebook and will send you my info. We are thinking of going to WDW in June for my other DD Graduation from high school.

Here are a couple of my ideas. Will do some more with some of the ideas given.

Very nice!

Hi! I am sooo glad someone mentioned lanyards! I'll be happy to contribute to and help with them! We helped with the ones for the first 5-night cruise last September----I think I see some familiar names on this PC cruise----I'm just glad we won't have any tropical storms in January----I found out that I do get seasick---but my husband doesn't. Sigh.

I am Susan and since my non-Disney fanatic husband Tom loved the first cruise---he has decided that another one is in order---and I'l be celebrating a 40-mumble-something birthday on January 17th---so we are killing two birds with one stone. We live in Maryland, work for the National Archives---no kids---but have 2 dogs---we'll be bringing a stuffed doggie on the cruise to make up for the ones that usually sleep with us---so I am excited about a stuffed animal cruise picture! I am already working on the FE gifts! Can someone who did the PC cruise previously please let me know a ball-park figure for the number of cabins that participated in the FE?

I really really really look forward to thie planning and then meeting all of you and having lots and lots of fun on this special cruise!

On the EB PC we have about 140 cabins that participated. We had a total of 750 people in our group (counting kids and extended family) I did the lanyards last time but not as an FE gift...people ordered them and then picked them up from me in the terminal or on the ship but as an FE gift sounds great!

I LOVE the critter photo!

I know we did lanyards on our -- some of us donated to a PayPal account to offset the cost. They were great to have!

Someone else did those cute door magnets -- and they were adorable since I am NOT a crafty person at all and I was so appreciative of having them on our door.

Welcome to all the new people!!

I want to extend a special welcome to those from Oz!! I visited your beautiful country for 2 weeks in 2007 and very badly want to visit again!

I wish to make a small confession. I am fascinated my marsupials. You have so many of them and they seem just so cute!! We really have only one here in the US and it's not cute at all. In fact... people try to run over them in their autos when they are on the road. How sad! I do not like all the nasty venomous spiders and such. That scares me!! That funnel web spider can live in the cities!! Do you ever see them? I just don't do spiders! ACK!!!:scared1::scared1::scared1:

Anyway... back to the real topic.. .PC!
I'm not really a night owl. I'm on second shift now... so I do stay up a tad later, but I try hard to go to bed no later than 11:30pm so that I can have a bit of normalcy and take care of things in the am if need be. But on this cruise... it will probably be the same result... after late dining.. I'm so full they practically have to roll me to my room! All that great food makes me soooo sleepy!!

I have 3 dogs and 2 cats and it will be up to my Dad and my boyfriend to care for them while Mom and I are on this trip! I'm sure they are going to be so thrilled!!! (NOT):rotfl2:

DH and I have also booked this cruise. We transferred over from the 11 Night Southern Caribbean Holiday cruise. I am excited that we will be on this cruise. We were booked for the 2008 EBPC but it didn't work out and we had to cancel.
My sister and her husband are coming too.

I cannot wait to start planning stuff for this cruise. :yay:

Welcome to all the new people. You are just going to love this trip. As for pre cruise plans, it is a little early but I have already talked to my group and we have decided due to the length of this trip we will stay no more than two nights at WDW, maybe in a Grand Villa since photocjr and I are both DVC members and we can both "pay" for a night. Stll to early to decide.

I think DH and I might be red-eyeing it from L.A. -- we just can't take off the extra time. :boat:

Oh .. and could someone PLEASE tell me to stop watching the you tube videos for the "Remember the Magic" show? I've been tearing up for the last 15 minutes....

Hi, Tenya and Lisa:

Our dd, Alison will be 16-1/2 on the cruise and I'm sure will love that there are other "older" teens in the group. She has always been homeschooled. This will be our 3rd Disney Cruise, always during the school year, so there are always just a nice handful of teens in the teen club (It's always been the Stack, but I guess it will be Aloft for this cruise! Gotta get that through my head). Enough to make it fun, but not so many that it's too crowded. They get to know each other pretty well during the 2 weeks. Both my kids still correspond with kids they met on both our prior cruises.

Not sure if anyone is interested but.... we are going to call DCL to release cabin 7037. Randy (RanCan) and I have two cabins reserved and only need one.

Whew! I just got done reading all 43 pages of this thread so far, lots to take in! Love the pictures from those of you who have done the previous PC repos. I'm sure I'll have a lot more questions for advice from you when it gets closer next year as far as when to get up to go up on deck to get a good viewing spot for the PC day, etc. Glad we have some "veterans" on board to help us newbies with what to expect for the PC!

It sounds like we have a really fun group. I read someone talking about late night fun and making your own drinks with mixers at the drink station, sounds like my kind of crew! And the "furry friends" meet for our plush animals sounds so fun, my hippo will be thrilled ; )

So maybe I missed it since I read so fast through all these pages, have we set up any official "sign ups" for things like the FE, lanyards, tshirts, etc? I know its early I just wanted to double check since I dont want to miss the time to sign up to participate in anything and everything!

I'm so excited!!!!

Well as a "Verteran" the front of the ship on deck 10 will be popular. So you may have to wait there. As I recall on the 08 westbound they put restrictions on sleeping and deck chairs. I will post the front of the Navagator in just a min. Also it is my little group who plans the late night drinking and hanging out. You are more than welcometo join in.

Welcome to all the newcomers!

Tracy, Lisa and I have already become friends on Facebook in preperation of getting our daughters together. PM if you'd like to join us and get our girls together. We've just started homeschooling, so I may ask you for advice.

Yes, they moved any chairs people had in place from the front of Deck 10 on the May '08 PC cruise. If you want a good spot you will probably have to be up there before 6am. They serve coffee and pastries up there from very early. :) We had a great spot port side above the little jutting out bridge deck, couldn't get closer to the front. I think I stayed there about 5 hours as we were delayed going through the locks as a nuclear sub came along and they have priority!! It was a fun day.

We didn't bother with the on deck barbecue but went inside for lunch for a break from the heat and humidity. Hopefully it won't be that hot next time.

Shutters had photographers along the lock sides taking pics, and catching folk on their verandahs or on deck.

Well the pics are not that great and I did the best I could using my iPhone. If you can see the times for the trasit great we started about 1 hour and a half late. Still left the canal about an hour late. You will also see I took one of the lunch deck BBQ times. I would do that if they do it on this cruise.

Our first DCL was 1999 just before x-mas.. Elizabeth was I think 6. Our next 2 DCL were 2002. We have been to WDW lots of times but started traveling on other Cruise lines with other family and friends.. I miss DCL and so does Elizabeth, So this will be our 4th DCL cruise and we are looking forward to DCL in LA.. We have met so many nice families in our travel.

I know DD will love to meet Alison. She keeps asking me about older girls now I can tell her yes.. :thumbsup2

I know on the EB PC they did not allow any chairs..we were in a special area as my Mom has a wheelchair so I can not comment on how crowded anything was except that area. I know that it was extremely hot in August and we went back to our cabin to watch the rest of the day go by. We had some nice photos of us by the DCL photogs taken.

Here is a copy of the PC repo navs.

The daylong deck party sounds fun. (I just don't think I could watch the transition from dawn til dusk).

It was hot and humid in May too. There were plenty of signs saying no deck chairs allowed. I have a couple pics of the Wife from the DCL photographers. I am also puting in sone stock shots they took and our embarkation photo. Here they are.
