I am in such agreement with you. I cruise to enjoy time on the ocean and the ship. If I ever really wanted to go to those places that the med trips go, I would not do it on a cruise ship.

I kinda agree, but for me I dont think you have to spend a fortune or a lot of time doing things in Port. I could not afford to go all the places we are going on our cruise so for me it is a compromise.Sure I would like to go for a week to each place, bit it aint going to happen, I am just happy to be able to have been at all.

Although I haven't cruised in Europe, I have travelled through alot of it (typical Kiwi ;) ) and many of the best times I had were just hanging out seeing the sights, people watching, have a local meal, etc. Is it really necessary to do an excursion at every port? I haven't looked into excursions at all for my PC and WBTA cruises.

Jeff, I forgot to thank you earlier for adding us to the website :yay:

I dont think so but it is a personal thing, what you describe is what I enjoy.

Hello all! Haven't checked in for a while as we've been busy organising our med cruise and checking out all the very expensive DCl excursions!

Booked on board the Magic 4 days ago.
Welcome onboard :cheer2:

We're doing a combination, some ports are full on and others just walk around the town and enjoy the cafe scene!

Another good point. We just don't have the leave anymore to be able to spend the amount if time we want in each place. Not like the good old days when we were younger and could spend 2-3 months going around Europe.

I agree to a certain extent. However, the med cruise really appealed to us because we thought it was a good way to introduce Europe to the children. We don't have to pack/unpack every few days and we don't have to worry about making the next train or plane or navigate on streets we're not familiar with. We've just accepted we'll go back someday in the future and spend a few weeks in the country and then do the full hog when the children can appreciate the full extent of the history, culture, architecture that is Europe.

It looks like we'll have some cruisers from this cruise on our med cruise so that'll be exciting!

I think you should do what you want. When I am on the TA next Sep I only want to do something in Gibralter and St. Martten. So the rest of the rme I will stay on the ship. As for the PC I may not get off the ship till it gets to L.A.

Already "homesick".:thumbsup2
Wellcome to this fun group
Just checking in. I'm still alive, just been REALLY crazy with work. I've got 1 group to add to the website, 1 group to move their room and 1 group to get their pic posted in the queue. I haven't lost your info, I'm just running way behind at the moment. It should clear up next week.
Jeff, are you working the 8-10?

WELCOME! I am in the midst of the homesickness myself as I was on the Magic Nov 7th and did a back to back. DCL certainly has it's hooks (or would that be the anchor) embedded deeply in me.

I hope that everyone made it through their Monday - I certainly do not like them and am very thankful it only comes once a week!

(I haven't finished reading the entire thread yet, but I had to post):

Well we did it, the wife and I booked the PC Cruise we where having second thoughts because of the price but we said what the heck, it only happens once. ...

"...it only happens once..."

I don't think they read the posts, either, or they would have known that they will be on another Disney PC cruise sometime in their life.

I disagree with this. After cruising to St Thomas, Steve and I saw how beautiful it was and spent a week there a couple of months ago. I think it's a great way to have a quick look around to see if it interests you.

I say go for it!

Just thought I would let you know of a web site that we were told about on our 2008 PC cruise. It is a company that makes certificates for different sailing events, like crossing the PC, Equator, etc. It is mostly done for sailors but anyone can purchase them. My DH and I each got one for our last trip and may get them for this trip since it is a different ship.

The web site is: http://www.tiffanypublishing.com/certs/order_ditch.asp

I will ask Jeff to add it to the other site too. Check it out.

That looks neat. If there is enough interest, it might be worth organizing a group order as they have a minimum set up fee of $10 for under 50 certificates.

It's taking a while to get caught up on reading this thread (I can't remember if I introduced myself or not - I'll find out later when I have caught up).

In the meantime, for your enjoyment,

Hi All,

My family is booked on this PC cruise and still debating it. We really want to do it but the cost is a consideration so I've been checking the DCL website to see if the prices are going to drop..........what do you think?

I've noticed the prices haven't changed since the first day of booking so I am wondering how it is selling and if they may offer some incentives for people to book?

We originally booked a CAT 11B GTY (2 adults, 2 kids) and we have already been assigned a cabin.......I was surprised that they would assign it so early. I am hoping they open the CAT 11C cabins to parties of 4 (like the CAT 12 GTY previously) and drop the price.

So what does everyone think? Is it slow selling? Will they offer any "better deals" to sell more cabins? Why did they assign a cabin so early? Just a few questions for the board.

TIA

Chris
