From WDW to DL With Love - January 06, 2011 part 5

AnglGurl thank you!!!! I was able to get my brunch ressie!!! Now I can relax when I get on board instead of feeling like I have to make a mad dash to Wavebands to try and get one. I really didnt care what day it was on so this was perfect.

Oh now I just remembered I have to wish hope and pray that we have Tritons and animator's for rotation... My parents have never seen the triton rotation menu and we have palo on a rotation night :-/

Sorry if already posted and I missed it somewhere within the five (!) Panama Canal threads: does anyone know whether DCL is planning on having Roman Catholic masses available on this cruise or is there possibly a DISer priest who is volunteering his time? I know DCL typically has only non-denominational services, but I was hoping that, since it's a fifteen-day cruise and two separate Sundays, we may get lucky

Thanks.

To those who were not able to get Palo Brunch and High Tea it looks like both are available, at least as of right now, on Panama Day

Hope someone is able to get them if they want them

Thanks from me, too. I managed to grab the High Tea. I am so happy that I managed to get this. I still have to get in line at Wavebands as I want dinner at Palo on Pirate Night, but that is OK. I did not fancy my chances getting the tea once on board.

Well I just checked again and dispite have cats. 11C, 11B, 11A, 9C, 9A, 7A, 6A, 5B, and 4A still available to book, no rate for us airline people who sends DCL their passengers.

Without getting in trouble for discussing cast discounts, I can say that at least for the time being, the cast discount program has been significantly scaled back despite the bigger ships. At least two of the major cast discount programs are gone (as in I can't even find a reference to them anymore) and the other has zero availability from Florida at this time.

If we're not getting discounts at this time, then they are probably quite content with the current load factor.

Sorry that it isn't working out for you right now, but they must have a reason to not be offering discounts to anyone.

Got the Palo Reservations for Tea and Dinner....Thank you!!

For those of you who were asking about fees I printed out this page to bring with me because on the computer it is showing the higher fees but they aren't effective until Jan 30, 2011 http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/ships-activities/ships/wonder/dining/palo/

An additional charge is required to dine at Palo.

Dinner: $15 dining charge, per person
Brunch: $15 dining charge, per person
High Tea: $5 dining charge, per person

Please note prices are subject to change without notice.

Effective January 30, 2011 the cost of Palo Brunch and Dinner will increase from $15 per person to $20 per person. The cost of the Palo High Tea will increase from $5 per person to $10 per person.

Oh I get that Jeff. Like I said I thunk Disney should have taken care of it's own and they did. What I dont get now us we are 3 days from sailing, they have all these cats. open, if you want to fill it, put the discounts back. That's all.

Does anyone know what it cost for a case of water on board. I know it is over priced but it may be more convenient for me.

What I have seen is that absent major religious holidays they will do Catholic services only if a priest happens to be aboard and agrees to officiate. So I hope you do find a priest. There could still be a priest aboard who doesn't read the DIS.

It may say 1/30/11 but my papers say $20 pp for Palo. So I think we will be paying $20 not $15

I just wish they'd start charging $500 for no shows. I *HATE* sitting there at high tea looking at 4 empty tables of no shows while I know there are a ton of people that couldn't get in.

:confused3

AMEN! High Tea is the one thing we have not done in 8 previous cruises on DCL and this time all the spots were gone before we could book them, again. We're going to try once we get onboard to see if they had any cancellations.

So today's a holiday for us at work and I'm working to stay ahead of the curve with emails. I have to be in the office 2 more days still and we fly out on Wednesday evening. I'll have to take a call on the ship at 2pm and them I'm done. No more work as of 3pm Thursday. yay!!

Just beware that they do not necessarily give you a lot of notice. We had waitlisted for the tea on the WBTA and out waitlist did come up. The problem was that they rang us at 2:45 PM to let us know that they had an opening for us at 3:00 that day. Unfortunately we were out enjoying ourselves and did not get the message until 5 PM.

I know what you mean...I feel a little frustrated that they never did anything for military, but oh well at least we get to go:goodvibes

If you cannot get reservations, or want to join us, I would be happy to add you to our ressie (it's on Day 4)...The more the merrier:grouphug: we have five going and I know it is always easy to ADD to the existing reservation as I do it every time. Just let me know before we get on the ship so that I can do it first thing (I have to add to both our high tea and brunch so I will be going there anyway).

Program Update:
I will fix all the mistakes I know about and resend to Jeff. For some reason it does not like Macs...I really don't know why, but anytime the Waltograph font was used it made a black blur on the document instead of the word. It looked fine on my PC, but not on my Mac. Sorry about that, but I really don't know how to fix it. As far as the smashed names, I know I tried and tried to make that work. There were about four names I had to add in after the fact and that seemed to mess everything else up. I may just re-do those pages today if I have the time:lmao: No, seriously, I will do my best to fix it. I'm not sure why anyone is having trouble printing it in order, unless it is the conversion to PDF. You should be able to "print as a booklet" and it will automatically print pages in order (for example, page 1, 2 and 29 would be on the same sheet of paper and so on). I can send Jeff the publisher file as well, but if you don't have the correct fonts, it will not read correctly on your computer and it will not read at all on a Mac.

I wonder if Palo (or any ship related service) can contact you via the new Wave phones or if it's only the kids' clubs and stateroom to stateroom contact.
