From WDW to DL With Love - January 06, 2011 part 5

As we were talking about packing...

Just a reminder for those that have bought Panama Canal Certificates - you may want to (OK probably should) bring a mailing tube to bring your certificates home with you.

They are big and beautiful and I wouldn't want them to get damaged in transit. They are 15.5" x 21 inches.

The mailing tube should be at least 16" long to fully encase a rolled up certificate. Someone suggested a sturdy cardboard tube from wrapping paper, so bear that in mind when you are wrapping gifts.

Happy Christmas Eve everyone! We had a great day here yesterday - grocery stops, returned the van and picked up a smaller car to keep until we get to Tampa and got groceries (4 carts). We must have been the folks you hate to run into when you are shopping - 8 adults standing around carts talking about what we needed. It was so much fun! Drew brought his Kinect in his carryone (and whatever else is needed) and we played last night. The dancing was a hoot - as were some of the track and field games.

We do need to run back out today - I forgot the sweet potatoes/yams for candied sweet potatoes.

Packing must-haves - I take mesh laundry bags (large ones) for laundry so we can sort as we put stuff in them. Then those go to the laundry room as needed. But I was going to try Linda's Command hooks and I didn't get them but I did put that on my list to pick up at some point. Extension cord is also key for me so that I can do my hair away from the desk.

Have a great day today - and tomorrow too everyone. Enjoy your time with family and friends!

We wish everyone a Merry Christmas . Hope everyone is healthy and happy and our prayers go out to those in need.

just not looking forward to packing!! i bought laundry bags at dollar store. didnt see mesh pop up ones but i may go back and look but i dont know where in the room they could go!!! i'm hoping the dcloset will have room for the bags!!

i'm with alan - it's a short time and we try to be simple!! and yet still have what we need. sigh. it's an uneasy balance. I tend to forget earrings and stuff and since it's vaca i dont care a whole lot. i do care, but not so much!

pixie dust to those who's friends and family are going through hard times. every time phone rings i hold my breath!! DD seems to be doing ok at the moment....crossing my fiingers!

those who are already travelling - have fun!!! the hard part is over - figuring how to get it all where you are going!! :-)

welcome to keatings!

Hello Travelers (and future friends). Joining the discussion (and planning) a bit late. Very much enjoying all of your suggestions though a bit overwhelming. We want to join in the Fish Extender fun - looks like fun for my daughter and niece. Can someone point me at the FE FAQ?

FYI - In the real world I provide tech support for Apple and would be happy to help fellow DIS members on our cruise.

Welcome!!!!

My DH & I are Apple fanatics. We both have iPods & iPads and I have a MacBook and he has an older gen MacBook Pro. Wouldn't trade my Apple products for anything.

Just looked at Southwest, but they don't do non stop flights unfortunately.

I like the glow sticks for the bathroom too. They cast a lovely light.

There are 2 types of non-stops -- those with plane changes and those where the plane stops but you don't physically leave the plane. BWI (Baltimore Airport) is easy to plane change as are most of airports that SWA uses.

Welcome, Welcome -- this is a great DIS group you've joined!! DD loves her Mac & we all love our iPods. Tell us more about your traveling party (it's the quickest way to get to the precious 10 posts).

We wish everyone a Merry Christmas . Hope everyone is healthy and happy and our prayers go out to those in need.

I have been notified by DCL that I should have the info for the reveal on Monday. I hope so!

We still have one foster puppy so he will need to go to a new home by Monday.

On Sunday, the suitcases will come out - I have family coming today and tomorrow.

Merry Christmas to those who celebrate! May you have a wonderful holiday!

Merry Christmas to those who observe!

WELCOME Keating family :banana::banana: Better late than never. Put your stateroom number in your next post so I can add you to my FE list.

What's the address for shipping to the port? We were talking about sending the wine ahead of time.

Sorry, Charlie (the tuna, that is)...the port will not accept liquids including wine, those items have to be hand-carried thru security.

Merry Christmas! :santa:

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! See you all real soon.

Well this has been a real trying week.... I took the week off to pack and do my FE things.... should have know better:headache:I was reading a few weeks ago about all the fear of the Dentist, etc. I was so glad I am not the only one. I actually need to be put completely under. I had a great Dr. a few years ago work on me and he was the greatest. Well, a few days after reading about the dentist I started to feel a throbbing (2 Infections) in my tooth...:scared1: I laughed it off as being crazy, due to my fear. Well guess what... I had a root canal done on Monday and Yesterday. I need to go back on Monday to get temp Crowns and fitted for new one to be placed after the trip!!!! To make matters worse the Dr. I had before retired.... I had a new Dr. (She is good!) But they had to keep, the gas on high and had over 15 shots to keep me numb. But she does not knock you out totally..... So I was in the chair 6 hours on Monday and 3 hours yesterday. We had water damage in our house this summer from the air conditioner overflowing into the wall upstairs and they just finished the baseboards on Tuesday. So we had everything boxed up in the garage in cardboard boxes. Well I don't know if you heard but we had major rain this last week....:headache: You guessed it the garage got flooded........:scared1::scared1: Are you kidding me!!!!!!! So we spent all of yesterday afternoon ( after the dentist) transferring all our stuff to plastic totes....so we can move them around to put the cars in for the trip. Cause now I do not have time before we go to move everything back into my Sewing room. Yes I had boxes of wet fabric and books. I was rewashing them as we worked in the garage.. So I have been real quiet about it all, as I'm not a complainer...but I am on my way to do Disneyland and de-stress with a movie (Tangled). I need to see the lights and snow on Main Street then I will feel better. ;) Thank you all for just being here to read, You and Mickey will make me feel better. :mickeyjum I can't wait till we are on the Ship. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all!
