From WDW to DL With Love - January 06, 2011 part 5

I'm sure we have many Disney Pin traders in this group. We are looking forward to trading on the ship as are our 3 and 2 year olds. They're quite the pros although the 3 year old (Jonathan) is quite unpredictable.

A few years ago there were ticket pins created for both parks. I've been slowly collecting them all, not able to trade as often as I'd like. I'm down to needing just the "B" ticket for Disneyland. If anyone has an extra they are willing to trade let me know. Hopefully I have something you are interested in.

Well this has been a real trying week.... I took the week off to pack and do my FE things.... should have know better:headache:I was reading a few weeks ago about all the fear of the Dentist, etc. I was so glad I am not the only one. I actually need to be put completely under. I had a great Dr. a few years ago work on me and he was the greatest. Well, a few days after reading about the dentist I started to feel a throbbing (2 Infections) in my tooth...:scared1: I laughed it off as being crazy, due to my fear. Well guess what... I had a root canal done on Monday and Yesterday. I need to go back on Monday to get temp Crowns and fitted for new one to be placed after the trip!!!! To make matters worse the Dr. I had before retired.... I had a new Dr. (She is good!) But they had to keep, the gas on high and had over 15 shots to keep me numb. But she does not knock you out totally..... So I was in the chair 6 hours on Monday and 3 hours yesterday. We had water damage in our house this summer from the air conditioner overflowing into the wall upstairs and they just finished the baseboards on Tuesday. So we had everything boxed up in the garage in cardboard boxes. Well I don't know if you heard but we had major rain this last week....:headache: You guessed it the garage got flooded........:scared1::scared1: Are you kidding me!!!!!!! So we spent all of yesterday afternoon ( after the dentist) transferring all our stuff to plastic totes....so we can move them around to put the cars in for the trip. Cause now I do not have time before we go to move everything back into my Sewing room. Yes I had boxes of wet fabric and books. I was rewashing them as we worked in the garage.. So I have been real quiet about it all, as I'm not a complainer...but I am on my way to do Disneyland and de-stress with a movie (Tangled). I need to see the lights and snow on Main Street then I will feel better. ;) Thank you all for just being here to read, You and Mickey will make me feel better. :mickeyjum I can't wait till we are on the Ship. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all!

You poor thing! Your week gives new meaning to the old saying "when it rains it pours" !!!!

I just checked my trader bag, sorry I only have the Disneyland A ticket to trade. I am looking forward to checking out the lanyards on the CM's and getting some of the special Panama Cruise pins.

What's the address for shipping to the port? We were talking about sending the wine ahead of time.

I'm excited to finally be able to help someone here!!

i'm having wine shipped to the hotel we're staying in. they did warn not to have it shipped to arrive more than 5 days in advance as they cant store it. we're staying from 2-6 at beach club dvc so i'll order 3 day shipping next week to that hotel. just a thought. earlier i'd mentioned on line it says that if its in your checked suitcase and they find it, they will remove it and hold it to end of trip!! so dont check in your big suitcase on ship either!! carry it on!!

There are 2 types of non-stops -- those with plane changes and those where the plane stops but you don't physically leave the plane. BWI (Baltimore Airport) is easy to plane change as are most of airports that SWA uses.

I am sorry if this is going to upset some, but this is a completely inacurate statement. Since I work for Southwest, I will clear it up. In the airline world there are three types of flights. First you have a connecting flight. This is were you change planes at least once before you reach your final destination. Second is what is called a direct flight. This is when you may stop, but you will not change planes. The third is a non stop flight. That should be obvious. Now some of our flights involve combining a direct flight to a connecting flight to get you to were you want to go. Any questions just ask. I will clear it up. To all that are celabrating the holiday, merry Xmas. As for me I am off today. Going to try to see True Grit. Then to my best friends mothers house for a bit. Tomorrow 14 1/2 hours at work. Cha Ching. The best thing about it all, is all my work from 12/16-12/31, pay day from it is 1/5. Today is my last day off till 1/2. Then 1/4 flying to MCO. Right around the corner now.

Ok so I have not been on in FOREVER.....28 pages and I did not even know that we had a new thread!!! :rotfl2:

Our very last minute trip to WDW was wonderful! We had such a great time. The weather was wonderful and we even had a day where we could go to the water park. :thumbsup2

DD's got to meet Debby Ryan from Disney Channel so they were beyond thrilled! It was so cute to see them so excited!

We are so excited for this trip! We will be back at WDW from Dec 31 to Jan 6 and then the cruise. The packing has sarted today!

See everyone soon!!!

Glad to see you on the site again. I was wondering what happened to you. We will be there for Bunco.Hope you and your family have a great holiday. Say hello to your Mom for me. See you on the Wonder.

Carmen -- so glad your hubby is able to be home for Christmas Eve, Christmas, and New Year's Eve. Joe came home last night. It's nice having him hear for a few extra days.

On a heavy note, please pray for one of my dearest friends' family. Her oldest son tried to commit suicide last night. They are facing some bleak days as he works to regain his health, both mentally and physically.

Thanks Tenya! Glad your hubby is home too! It is so nice to have 'em around :goodvibes

Sorry to hear about your friend's son.

Hello Travelers (and future friends). Joining the discussion (and planning) a bit late. Very much enjoying all of your suggestions though a bit overwhelming. We want to join in the Fish Extender fun - looks like fun for my daughter and niece. Can someone point me at the FE FAQ?

FYI - In the real world I provide tech support for Apple and would be happy to help fellow DIS members on our cruise.

WELCOME!!!!

Oh no, you poor thing! I'm the OP about the root canal, hope I didn't jinx you :) I'm still having problems with mine even after a supposedly successive root canal :headache: I don't want to have to go through that again.

Okay, I don't get where her statement is completely inaccurate. No, I'm not upset, just curious. She didn't use the terms connecting and direct, but is sure seems like she described them correctly. :confused3 What am I missing.

:santa:Merry Christmas to all who celebrate!!!

How can there be two types of non stop flight? Non stop is just that. When you leave the next place you arrive is your final destination. How can there be two types of this flight? Looking back I think what was ment was more a connection. A non stop to the city were you will change planes, then a non stop to your final destination.

Okay, rereading her statement I see what you mean. She was describing non non-stop flights (which I still feel like she described accurately) and I didn't catch that she put non-stop (which I'm sure was just an honest mistake) :goodvibes

Merry Christmas to those of you that are celebrating! I just spent some time with my good friend that works down at Disney and he's jealous that he can't join us. He confirmed much of the same information that has already been shared, so I wont get into that. Dream has had some rough seas getting to the Canarys but they've had plenty of fun it sounds like. Meanwhile around here it's becoming full onslaught cruise planning time. Scuba gear has checked out, bag planograms have been completed (gee its funny to use that term to something besides work...) and Now it's just to be excited to see all of you! I can't believe this is finally here. My dream is finally coming true! I guess this means I have to change all of my passwords where the clue was "what is your dream vacation" huh!?

Now that never crossed my mind. Well off to see True Grit.

Have a Wonderful weekend everyone.

Just like last year it's cold and wet here. But last year it was very windy with snow. This year it's just lots of rain. We were going to go out and look at Christmas lights with DMIL tonight, but because it's so yucky out we're just going to have dinner and hang out instead.

I found who I ordered the planning DVD for...

Marilyn, I've got it sitting in a bag with other stuff to be packed. Keep an eye on your FE for the little package from DCL. ;)

I've only played Bunco once. A friend called me in a pinch to fill in with a group she plays with all the time. I had no idea what I was doing, but I actually won a little money. It was a few years ago so I've totally forgotten how to play. I was thinking maybe joining, or at least watching, but we have Palo Brunch on the first Sea Day. If y'all decide to have a 2nd round maybe I can catch y'all then.

I'm excited to finally be able to help someone here!!

Anyone know if they will accept packages with sun screen. We like to use the "continuous spray" kind and I'm not sure if it's something allowed in checked baggage on airplanes.

Well this has been a real trying week.... I took the week off to pack and do my FE things.... should have know better:headache:...
That really was a trying week. But better now than in 2 weeks. And just think, now you should be able to truly relax and enjoy the cruise. Have fun at DL and forget about all the mess. As Rafiki says, "It doesn't matter, it's in the past." (or something along those lines.)

Rainy here in Houston too! I remember the snow last year. We were up in the DFW area visiting family last Christmas and I was so happy to finally have a white Christmas. But I know a lot of people had problems getting to/from because of all the wind and snow.

Anyway, just finished up Snickerdoodle cookies for Santa. I also made 2 batches of divinity and some more peanut brittle! I think I'm on sugar overload right now :goodvibes
