You know, I wasn't so upset about the lack of sendoff as I was the lack of any sort of hoopla over the Wonder's arrival in Los Angeles. It's a really big deal, and no one is treating it as such. They practically sneaked in in the middle of the night! I was SO disappointed that by the time I woke up (early, by my account) we were already docked! And there was virtually no one there to greet us! There should have been a big party and....NOTHING! At least some faithful DISers put up a sign, but seriously, that was LAME on Disney's part. I'm going to write a letter, not that it will do much good. But maybe they'll think twice before treating the Magic this way when they send it off to the Med or wherever they send it eventually.

Sorry everyone for the delay, but we jumped right into Hell Week for a show and didn't have any time to be on the DISboards! Here's the result for the MouseAdventure. Mouse Planet very kindly donated some actual prizes for the first few places.

1st Place with a PERFECT score (277) was rotary2808
2nd Place with a score of 272 was DCL_FAN_TAC
3rd Place with a score of 268 was Tinkryansmom
And there was essentially a tie for 4th place with a score of 267 between: Cindy Girl, Sumeto and Cardidog (they were technically ranked 4th, 5th and 6th according to what time they turned in their score sheet)

As to the rest, only about half of the participants actually turned in their score sheets, and they were ranked as follows (scores in parentheses):

For a lot of teams it came down to shuffleboard. You got 10 points just for showing up and then a bonus.

I was pleasantly surprised at the number of teams who found the hidden quest.

Thanks Tracy for publishing the scores -- I don't think my sheets made it into my luggage.

We really enjoyed the Scavenger Hunt. We were teamed up with WaitingTo MeetDumbo.It really made you think and look at things on the ship in a different way. Thanks for organizing it for us.

We really wanted to do this but once we saw the deadline change it was impossible for us. I kept the sheets and did it a little at a time til the end of the cruise. It was still fun figuring out some of the answers that way. Thanks!

I want to agree with our sad sendoff & why were we so late? It did allow for lovely sunset photos. Compare that send off to the hugh crowd at Panama & that says a lot. I want to thank everyone for everything on this my Bittersweet cruise. You all made it perfect. Ryan enjoyed it so much & enjoyed meeting everyone. I hope we can all travel together again sometime. Our server said Mexico is cold now. We were so lucky with perfect weather except for Castaway Cay! Keep well. I am trying to get there. My son will fly down March 1 & we will leave early March 2.

Anyone getting this nasty weather - what is it something like 31+ states affected - please stay safe and warm. We've been getting sleet since around 3:00 this morning and the streets are pure sheets of ice.

DH went into work anyway though. He said someone needs to be there if customers show up. I say let the idiots out on the road bang on the door to an empty building. He said someone needs to be there to let in employees because not everyone has a phone to let them know the office is closed. Why they don't have an "ice" policy is beyond me. Sure we live in Texas, but we still get icy weather here on occassion.

Yes, everyone stay safe! I was just in the Dallas area this weekend so I'm glad it waited till I got home. I'm just south of Houston and we may get snow/ice on Friday. But I know it will be nothing like what a lot of places are experiencing.

The send off may have been better had it not been an hour late. The deck party ended and we all just waited for the ship to leave, and then waited some more. It just took a lot longer to load the ship. They should have delayed the deck party to better sync with our send off. It may have been a little more exciting that way.

I was SO cold....first time Ive ever got in the bath and it was for a heat....
I was really dissapointed because when we done the transatlantic he had a "leaving "party then we didnt sail till 9pm, it was rubbish,

That annoys me. Apart from some smaller purchases, I bought a Dooney and Bourke tassel purse. So if they allowed you to purchase one for every $30 spent, I could have bought 5 there and then and would have done had I known about this.

I would love to have one of any spares that you have. What characters did the set consist of? Is there anything from the UK that you might like so that we can set up a trade? Otherwise I am quite happy to Paypal you the money.

You may be right, Alan. I certainly noticed a lot of "little annoyances" this trip. But I'm going to reserve judgment until I've take one or two more regular cruises before I decide. This ship and this crew were quite obviously nowhere near prepared for a trip of this magnitude, both in length and in the expectations of the passengers.

We were a group who had mostly all cruised before and many of us had a somewhat emotional attachment to this cruise for whatever reason and I think that affected our expectations as well (rightly so). I really think the crew was scrambling to adjust to all of that.

This was our first time on the Wonder, so I can't speak to the possible decline in service or quality, but I can address the general disappointment that the whole cruise didn't feel as "special" as the Magic's 2nd trip did in 2008. I don't know if that was just my perception or if my expectations were higher or what but the whole thing had the feel of "Just another cruise" despite the frequent "words" about it being special. The actions just didn't match.

We'll see when we finally take an Alaska trip or the Fantasy MV whether overall quality is truly declining.
