My dd house closing got delayed by her buyer so instead of moving yesterday she is moving tomorrow. Also, she got her biopsy report back & it is suspect so now she must have breast surgery. She is waiting for an appointment with the surgeon. I am very concerned for her & will be happy when I get down there.

I'm sorry to hear your daughter is going though this. The waiting for tests/results must be so hard. I hope she gets some definitive results soon.

Another member of the tribe! I'm a NICU nurse by trade, but now work in informatics (finishing my Master's in the spring) and my Mom is also a nurse (and her Mom too). My Mom knew Florence (Nightingale). No really, her and Flo use to have a cup of coffee together. It's the only way I can wrap my head around her being a nurse (and an active one) for 45ish years. She's taught the last 20 years, but up until the last few months, still taught clinical.

I'd love to chat with you on the cruise Jen! Informatics is exploding right now. I was privileged to spend the last two years on a task force that designed the content for our hospital's ICU nurse charting, and was one of the lead instructors for our 5 ICU units. The process was fascinating. If you can stand to talk about it, I'd love to hear a little about your masters program (over a drink, maybe, so the topic isn't too painful!)

That should be a great cabin. I was on the Magic in cabin 7604 last year and loved the location! This time I'll be in an interior cabin, not quite as nice, but I'm happy to be going!

The rest of our groups received their allocations but because I still can't access my reservation online, I have to wait for DCL or my TA to let me know. I assume that we'll be next to or close to the rest of the group seeing as they all got staterooms all in a row. Jeff, will PM you when I get the details.

We are out of the lifeboat as well! We got moved up to deck 5, cabin 5500! I do like deck 5 since it is on the same floor as the kid's clubs!

The difference is just deck 6 to deck 7. The rooms themselves are exactly the same. Passporter states that the verandahs on deck 6 are slightly larger but we have never noticed that.

Hello Everyone,

Are there any DISers going on the "Canopy Zipline and Aerial Tram" excursion? Or have been on it before? Any info on what company runs the excursion? I'd like to do a little research on them. I'm signed up for this excursion and am a little nervous, but very excited. It's something I've always thought would be really cool to do.

I got all excited when I saw the room assignment frenzy, but no... still sitting at GTY.

I just booked my return flight LAX-PVD on USAirways. It was a pretty good price ($128 all-in). Right now I'm trying to decide whether or not to keep my PVD-MCO flight on Southwest (booked with RR award) or book that one-way on USAirways as well since it's running at $79 all-in.

Someone a while back was asking who was celebrating stuff on the cruise. I'll be celebrating my birthday at some point on the ship, although it's actually the day I fly home from Disneyland.

As for the sci-fi viewings -- I have the first 2 seasons of the Tomorrow People I could bring, but really, when does there actually end up being free time to sit and watch DVDs? It seems every time I cruise, I plan on getting caught up on my movie watching (via that stuff being shown on the ship) but only end up squeaking in a movie or two because I always seem to be busy doing other stuff. As it is, I'm trying to hold off on seeing Tangled and Tron Legacy because I know they'll be showing those on the ship.

I may agree with you about Tangled, but I have been waiting 28 years for another Tron movie. I am so there at the midnight show opening night.

I have not posted for awhile. We won our playoff game Saturday & now we travel to Charleston,WV to play the #1 ranked team in the state. I am going on the charter bus which leaves at 7 am!!

Garry's birthday was Monday & I took my two youngest grandsons out for dinner. It was good to be with them on a difficult day for me.

It has not been a good week, but I am looking for brighter days!

As least I have my clothes picked out...now if they will only fit in the suitcases!!

So...I just get off of the phone with DCL...I was informed that they are taking the trunks out of a lot of the cabins ..no reason why but here is the big bummer part...even though I have been assigned a cabin... if you get a GTY on a discount - you can be moved around several times until you check in at the port

So they suggested I not put my cabin number on anything as quite often we get moved....bummer...

You have snagged a great room as you don't have anyone on one side of you, just a lifeboat, and that would be the side where the smoke from neighbouring smokers down wind might bother you. I know someone who always books that room on the other side of the ship. We have stayed down the corridor from your room and it is very quiet indeed with little foot traffic.

I have not caught up reading everything, but I just wanted to drop in and say that we got our stateroom assignment! We are in 7046! We got a mini upgrade from a 5C to 5A. DH and I like midship, we cruised there once. So we are very happy with the assignment. I hope everyone finds happy news today!

well, the kids have gone to bed with thoughts of all things Disney tonight - I ended up doing a clue trail. It took the younger three a while to cotton on to what it meant, but once it kicked in, there were squeals a-plenty

DD1 will probably join the kids' thread - I'm hoping she gets to know a couple of kids beforehand - she's adament she doesn't want to do any kids' clubs.

We will need to buy a 2 day DL ticket. Does anyone know what the current prices are on the gate, or at the hotel so I can compare with buying over here before we go? I am presuming it will be cheaper to buy here, but as we have a lot of $'s to take with us it would save paying now with Christmas on the way!!
