From WDW to DL With Love - January 06, 2011 part 4

Good morning and congrats to all that have received their cabin assignments. How exciting. And, for those of you still residing in the lifeboats, here is hoping you get your assignment today.

Not much happening in MI this morning. Going to oldest DS's house for dinner tonight and then tomorrow is Frankenmuth to meet the in-laws to be. Since we Facebook together, it won't be too much of a shock to the system but I do hope that DH behaves (that is a tall order).

We will need to buy a 2 day DL ticket. Does anyone know what the current prices are on the gate, or at the hotel so I can compare with buying over here before we go? I am presuming it will be cheaper to buy here, but as we have a lot of $'s to take with us it would save paying now with Christmas on the way!!

Ok, those of you who have PM'ed me or emailed me, the cruise site is now current with everything, so if you don't see it, please resend it.

I have carmie's list and I'm going to work on getting it put up at some point today. I expect room updates to be fast and furious.

I will *NOT* be replying to PM's unless there is something that needs my attention. As always, if you send the PM and the cruise site updates, great. If you send it and it doesn't update, please give me a couple of days. I originally said 7 days, but now that the cruise is getting closer, go ahead and nudge me again if it doesn't change in 3 days.

Current Stats:

328 people in 126 staterooms, traveling as 102 parties.
This is 13.67% of the normal guest capacity(2400) of the Wonder.
This is 12.15% of the maximum guest capacity (2700) of the Wonder.
This is 14.37% of the available staterooms(877).

Finally, Wine Meet and Greet is *STILL* pending the Cruise Director on the Wonder figuring out when he wants what rooms so that events can then start filling out the free space.

As for the sci-fi viewings -- I have the first 2 seasons of the Tomorrow People I could bring, but really, when does there actually end up being free time to sit and watch DVDs? It seems every time I cruise, I plan on getting caught up on my movie watching (via that stuff being shown on the ship) but only end up squeaking in a movie or two because I always seem to be busy doing other stuff. As it is, I'm trying to hold off on seeing Tangled and Tron Legacy because I know they'll be showing those on the ship.

In the event of a Tron Legacy showing, Sci-Fi night will be postponed to fit around the showing

That should be a great cabin. I was on the Magic in cabin 7604 last year and loved the location! This time I'll be in an interior cabin, not quite as nice, but I'm happy to be going!

It's Harry Potterday (and a Friday)!!!! WOOHOO!!! Full costume for DD - she's a great stand-in for Emma Watson!! I, of course, wore my Sorcerer Mickey hat and got the 'oh, Mom PLEASE!!' Sorry Dumbledore, Mickey ROCKS Going back to see it with Muggles this evening

Alan -- we'll be at the TRON midnight showing too, the previews & promos!! Can't wait to see it on the Wonder with my fellow DIS family too!!

Buying the tickets in the UK now costs £95 or £97. So, not a lot of difference I think. With WDW we do well with our UK tickets.

I am not a fan but DD is...we went to the midnight showing last night...she was over the moon - still has to go to school though this morning...

We finally got out of the lifeboat. We had cat 5C and we got room 6044. Does anyone know anything about that room? I don't think we got an upgrade.

Woo! We are practically neighbors!

We had & have reserved seats at Studio Movie Grill (cushy seats & meal delivered to you throughout the show), worth every penny! It was the 2.5 hours of sitting and the middle of the night that got me. There was definitely teenage bargaining powers involved for this event but worth the experience!

Just don't let word get out or you might have the parent nazi's tell you how bad you are for letting a teenager stay up that late.....

Teenager up past midnightthat's when they START studying! Lots of coffee for the parents today, but the kiddos were fine (plus a bit of bragging rights at 1st period class this morning helped).

Our most cherished moment was DH sharing his Star Wars movie premieres (IV, V, VI, I, II & III) history and knowing DD has parallel story with HP series!

Postcard Exchange Update
How it works: cruisers buy postcards of their area/country/town/city etc. and deliver them to each person/cabin on the list. Some people elect to make their own postcard using photos they have taken. Others print local recipes on a card. It is great fun to come back to your cabin and find mail.

UPDATE: Now that cabins are being assigned, please update your cabin information. So far we have 28 cabins signed up. If you would like to join us (or I have inadvertently left you off the list – sorry) pm me.
