Can't hang around to post today - far too much to do. At least it's a perfect inside day - blustery, cold, miserable - about 18C - more like late Autumn than late Spring. (and shhhhhhh..... I've cancelled my dental appt this afternoon - it was a bad time in order to make magic happen tonight, so I'm going next week instead).

Won't be around much on the weekend either. I'm officially old tomorrow

Carmie...if you find a good online store for tweens dresses, please share. I have a 13yo who is 5'7" with matching feet. It's hard to get any outfit for her that is NICE. What to do for dress shoes!!!???

I actually just found a couple at JCPenney. These were not listed online though, sorry . As far as shoes, yes it is hard to find dress shoes that don't have heels. DD is in about 7.5 women's which is the same as 5.5 in kids but there's not a big selection in that size. I guess shoes for DD is my next chore.

A bit frustrated with Target. I know that when we purchase food in the grocery stores we should be confident that they are selling NON expired items. Well, I came home with 2 jars of expired mayo today - two different kinds. Someone could get really sick! When I called to tell the manager so they could remove the expired ones, he mentioned that they just did a check of that aisle yesterday. Looks like someone didn't do their job! When I went back to Target I had to get some pumpkin pie spice. I had to dig to find one not expired! Come on Target!!!

Anyway, hoping my assignment pops up soon!!!!!!!

We bought a toaster from Target, didnt work so took it back. 2nd didnt work so took it back. 3rd was the 1st one we returned that didnt work and had the same dents. DH bought an inverter it didnt work so he took it apart to see why. Someone had gutted it (took out all the components) and filled it with concrete! We didnt think they would take it back. We check everything now. lol

Ok..I have looked it up...we are more forward (my fear) then I would have liked but that's ok...we are in an adjoining cabin which I would have preferred not to be but I took a chance and can't complain much..I'm on the ship!

We are in 7528. I am on the phone with DCL...and they don't know the answer to my question....does anyone know if you are in an ajoining cabin if you lose out on the trunk?

We are in 7522, right downt the hall! I actually love being forward, so close to the quiet cove pool : ) I feel my motion all over the ship, I've not noticed more forward and I've had aft and midship rooms before- for me, I just need to take my bonine and I'm good to go. Congrats on the room assignment!

Luckily none of us get sea sick..it has to do with the movement coming up the Pacific Coast - there is a lot more movement due to the current. I have trouble sleeping is all. It's not terrible at all...I was just hoping for just a tad bit more mid-ship but overall this cabin is fine.

I'm making an apple cider gravy for thanksgivng and wnated to make it in advance. but even if i was making it the same day i'd have the same problem - it calls for 1/2 C of turkey drippings. Well i'm not roasting a turkey, we deep fry it. Any thoughts for substitutions? Thanks!

Charlotte, technically no upgrade but you did get a great location. We got 5B's for our 5C's. I am just thankful that we are next to each other and that both our rooms sleep 4! The girls love the upper bunks! We are just across the elevators from you!

Chicken, if you aren't going to be cooking a whole, buy some wings or better yet, backs, sometimes they sell them to make soup. I'd bake them and add a little chicken stock if you don't get the full 1/2 cup. Don't think stock will do it on its own cause you need the fat - so bad and yet so good. We are going to my sister's for Thanksgiving but I so wanted turkey I bought one. I am brining it tonight and will roast it tomorrow. Bob is afraid he'll be eating turkey forever.

yea the recipe also calls for chickenstock so that wouldnt do buat this sounds good, thanks! (though if anyone has any more suggestions that dont include buying/cooking chicken i'll take them, or i'll just do this!)
