Yesterday, I collected my dress from the tailor, added a day to my Candy Cane Inn reservation, arranged for a towncar to collect us, and arranged for my ecv for Disneyland. Slowly but surely things are checked off the list.

If you don't mind, who are you using to get your ECV? Have you used them before? And, does DL itself rent them? Thanks for any information you have!

Nicole, your shirts look really great! That stinks about the bracelets, though. Thanks for the heads up on the company.

Des, I am sorry about the candy, but like another poster said, it was the thought that counts. I hope you are able to resolve it with the company.

Does anyone know if there is an Internet cafe close to the port in Aruba? If I can get a couple of hours in each port, I should save a small fortune!

Has anyone looked at what it would cost to add Mexico to their calling plan for AT & T? I don't need to call the US, but I am interested in getting to the Internet cheaper than the ship so I can upload and download my son's homework. :)

When I did the EBTA, I added an international plan and it was a little less than $5 to set it up. They then charged by minute depending on where you were calling from.

I will be giving DCL on Friday for a Mixology Tasting and Hawaiian Shirt Contest. Hopefully the Special Functions Request Dept can accomodate us. Will keep you all posted.

Val

Can you please add me to the mixology group list?
Thanks for taking care of this for the group.

I "think" Disney has the 4 wheelers but I don't believe you can take them across from DL to CA, nor out to DTD.

I prefer a 3 wheeler - they are more maneuverable in crowds, and I can ride from my resort to whereever I like. I have two numbers Scooter Rentals 888-441-7575 and Scooter Village 888-956-2246.

They tell me it's not necessary to reserve until January.

DL is NOT as scooter/handicap friendly as WDW, in my recollection.

Corrina, I have friends that just moved to Dubai, he's a pilot. They love it. Wish you luck on this position.
Your dress is gorgeous! Can't wait to see it!

T-shirts...congrats to all of you that have done yours. The designs are great! Gotta get myself in gear. Where would I find the graphics for the Mickey head with map and is it available to use? I was thinking of making it into a magnet for the door.

Des, so sorry about the candies. What a disappointment and the waste of your time! But, I'll echo what others have said. It is the thought that counts and what a cool idea you had.

The B52 sounds yummy! Makes me think of 'Oceans of Coffee'. Told my DH to plan on me having at least one a day or maybe two. They are good hot or cold. Ah, Oceans of Coffee .... I'm ready for you. It was really refreshing while playing bingo.

My DH makes the best Caipirinhas. He learned to make them in Brazil and yes you need Cachaca for them to taste really good.

Hope everyone has a great day. I have a list a mile long that I have to start working on.

For those of you who own a Kindle and are looking for a way to circumnavigate those high cell phone bills while on vacation: do you know you can go online while at sea and post to websites such as Facebook? DH & I were on the WBTA and I posted to Facebook frequentle, even while in the middle of the Atlantic! It's slow but it beats the cost of cell phone and Disney internet. You can go to other websites but I was too impatient to wait for them to load. If you don't know how to do it and would like to give it a try, pm me or see me onboard the Wonder. I'd be happy to share me "secret" with you. I have a Kindle 2nd gen. with 3g Whispernet. Other Kindles have wireless and I think you need to sign up with DCL for that at cost. I like FREE better. Slow is ok when it's free.

Ignore this post if you're one of those techie peeps who have already figured this out. My daughter showed me about this and I got so excited! I don't like to drag my laptop around and all I do with my cell phone is make/receive calls. I am a dinosaur!

Have a great day!
Blessings to all, Jackie

I rented a scooter for my husband from Deckert Medical . They will deliver it to Paradise Pier at DL. It is a three wheel heavy duty one. We rented from them before and we had no problem. Hopefully we won't have any problems this time.

@Rocknspots - yes, please send me a PM! I can't send you a PM over my phone. :)

Thanks!

Still nursing a cold, but watching Cruise Ship Diaries for the umpteenth time to keep me in cruise mode :) Day one of the Shakespeare festival went well - 2 days to go .

DES - sorry to hear about the fate of your sweets :( I hope the company comes to the party for you.

Nicole - I love your shirt ! It looks fabulous !

I think I've crossed off everything now in terms of booking except for our arrival day in LA - still trying to work out the logistics of occupying the day with luggage in tow....

Short and sweet tonight. I'm about to take a Disprin for the sinus pain, then I'm heading to bed.

Have a great day/night.

Cheers,
Sally :)

How was the racing?
I am also nursing a cold.ba humbug.

Wheres Alan ? hope your ok Alan.

Re internet.

A LOT of the ports had free wi fi in pubs/cafes around the port, I used my cell phone to e-mail via the wi fi.

I want my money back and find something else to give.

I hope they let me do that...I was so exited too! :sad2:[/QUOTE]

So sorry about that Des -- you were so excited about your plan at the Disneyland Meet. However, I know you'll figure something out. I just hope the company makes it up to you!

Has there been any thought to linking late diners for same rotation?

On our last cruise, we ended up at a table with some nice people. Unfortunately, they were visibly offended when we ate shellfish, and did not approve AT ALL of drinking alcohol. It made the meals very uncomfortable. We would love to pair up on our late rotation with like-minded folks . . .

Anyone for lobster & wine??? :yay:

Thank you both for the information! DL scooter rentals have just gone over my head with everything else I need to do. Thank you again!

Welcome back! You were missed and congrats on getting your projects completed. :surfweb: - have fun catching up and remember, the first and second post has lots of important info in it in case you miss something.

I hope you feel better soon.

And, I second you on missing Alan. I have been sort of MIA the past few days but noticed nothing from him. Alan - come baaaaaaaaaaack please.

Well, we have snow in our forecast starting tomorrow clear through until Saturday! I am so happy that it isn't 85 degrees and muggy anymore but I am still not ready for the snow. I could use another 2 months of what we have been having - 40's and 50's.

We leave 7 weeks from today - oh my! In fact - 7 weeks from tonow, I will be on the plane heading to Fort Lauderdale. Bring it ON!

Lynne, sorry you have a cold. I hope you feel better very soon. John caught one after the cruise in WDW. Now he has another one, worse this time with a very annoying cough!!!:scared: However it is coming to an end now. I didn't catch either, so I must have had them in years gone by!!! I know my childhood memories include many colds and sore noses.

I think we are all sorted, which is a shame, I would have a table for 30 if I could !! But just so everybody knows I do drink wine! not with breakfast right enough, but lunch sometimes dinner usually, actually, breakfast mm, I have had a glass with breakfast after night shift right enough.
I am a vegi and dont care what folks eat as long as they dont make me eat it, everybody to there own!

It seems to be moving faster now! It may just be me ... my photo book for the cruise came in this week, sure made it seem more "real". It wasn't the formal dresses, bathing suits but a photo book that made the cruise seem "real" ... LOL

Greetings everyone!
I'm so sorry to hear that so many of you have a cold! I hope you all feel better soon.
Missy... I just changed our Palo's res to the night we're in Cabo. It's your mom's bd night 1? We should celebrate B-I-G!!
Technically her B-day is Jan 4th, but Cid and I decided it would be nice to have a little celebration on the ship. You know how much she LOVES it when people make a fuss over her:rotfl2::rotfl2: (for the rest of you who don't know my mom, she absolutely HATES being the center of attention...but, as far as I'm concerned, everyone should have at least one special celebration on DCL)
Looks like the Giants are going to close it out tonight. Congrats to the Giants and their fans :goodvibes

ETA: I'm still a proud Rangers fan. They did a great job this year and look forward to next year!!! Love my Rangers :)
You should be very proud! They are a great team! Giants got their first World Series win and Rangers got their first AL championship. All-in-all it was great all around!

Sally, have you considered going to the Grove?? It is only about 10 miles from LAX and it has some great stores. Most significant is the American Girl Place. There are only about 5 in the US and you can easily spend a good portion of the day there. There is a live stage show, a restaurant, and of course dolls and doll clothes everywhere! They even have a saloon for the dolls to receive up-dos! If I remember correctly, you have all girls and they would get a kick out of that place! My mom, sis and I took my DD there a few years ago for her B-day and she LOVED it! We were there for a LONG time! It is also right around the corner from one of the TV studios so you might even get to go to a TV viewing...

Des-sorry about the candies and I hope it gets resolved for you quickly and to your satisfaction. You are so thoughtful to do such a unique gift, and it really is the thought that counts!

Nicole-The shirts look great. I'm glad you were able to get what you wanted.

Sherri-you asked a question that no one answered and now I can't remember what it was...Ahhhh! Sorry!

Corrina-the dress is BEAUTIFUL! I cannot wait to see it in person:goodvibes

Tammy-Are you still thinking of doing the scrapbook exchange? I remember you mentioning two options and I don't think I ever replied. To be honest, both ideas sound great (cut in advance and make on ship or cut and do layout to give on ship). I guess if we want to sit and talk we could all bring double stick tape and do the option where we just cut the pieces, but again, I like both ideas. On our last cruise (Oct. 2009) there was an opportunity to scrapbook. And, while there wasn't much actual scrapbooking going on, we did receive two very cool pages...the first and last page of the scrapbook. I was thrilled as they were pages I could never buy at the store:woohoo:

Have a great day All!
