From WDW to DL With Love - January 06, 2011 part 2

I'm staying at the Candy Cane Inn, in California. The Disney hotels are too expensive for me, and I don't think i'd be able to get anything on points at 7 months out.

We are sailing on points - used them up but that is why we bought them. I booked a Dec. 2011 when we were on the Magic last November on cash, could not pass up that $500 OBC. I might move it out to 2012 - we shall see.

Fish was AWESOME - Lake Erie perch. YUMMY. Tomorrow will be a long day in the car but I am looking forward to my own bed.

I'm a newbie and not sure what to do. While on the transatlantic cruise 2 weeks ago I heard about this dis forum and thought I would look it up before my Panama Cruise.

Any other DVC members out there? We're debating: buy one passage with points and one with cash, all with cash, all with points (using up our points). Part of it is the expense we'll incur in LA when we stay a few days since we've never been. hmm, which to do which to do.

We are DVC members and booked PC on points. Thought about going cash, but after review, decided points was the only way we would be able to afford it. Especially considering all of the other costs, flights, passports, souvenirs, pictures, etc. So we banked and borrowed and had enough left over to stay at GCV when we reach CA since we've never been to DLR.

Nothing exciting here. We're getting the kids pictures done at Portrait Innovations. If you have one near you, it's a great place. Then we'll try to tackle a few more things on the birthday party checklist. DS will have his 3rd birthday party Toy Story style at DHS next Saturday. Anyone in town heading to WDW on the 15th? We'd love to see you.

 Yay ! Thank goodness it's Friday, and nearly the weekend

What have you got planned for the weekend ? anything nice ?

I've got a fun weekend ahead of me. Tonight we're going to see Rihanna in concert and tomorrow night we're going to see the Black Eyed Peas. I'm really looking forward to both concerts

Have a great weekend guys, whatever you're up to :)

Mom's 80th birthday falls on Mother's day this year. We've ordered takeout food from New York (we're in California). With shipping, possibly the most expensive meal she's ever had :rolleyes1

Ahoy, fellow DVC member! We used points for one adult and one child, and paid cash for the rest. It used up all of our points until 2012, but WHO CARES-we are going to be on the Wonder for 15 nights!:yay:

Hi and welcome.

Hello all. I had a great day at Disneyland, even had dinner at The Blue Bayou. Here are two shots I took. Jeff the first is for you. The second is a Captian EO slide on the screen.

Also I wanted to chime in on the, Should I use DVC for a cruise. Me personaly, I never see us using our points for a cruise. Just not a good vaule for the points in my opinion.

Heading to Florida for Mothers Day with Mom. DH stayed home (darn work) but 3 of the 4 kids will also be meeting up at Grandmas for some time with her.

Shocker Alan, we agree again. Jeff and I don't see using points for a cruise as being economically right for us. We just paid cash and will use points for DL.

It us nice to agree. I will say, to each their own with their own points. That's why people bought them, I just don't see how hundreds of points per person makes sence, especialy since (well for me at least) I am paying about $129.00 per person per night.

Oh, any word on the surgery?

I am working, nothing too serious in so far this weekend, but I have a new vet and so it makes it bit more difficult, I will have her butt whipped into shape quick smart though, like all these jobs paper work is a lot of it incse we get sued, we have to write and fax and copy and check every thing we do as we are mostly working for other vets in the area.
Normally I do the animals, the vets do the paper work, but I will have to train her how, where and when , its temptong to do it myslef cause its quicker but I will try not to!
