Oh, any word on the surgery?

I am working, nothing too serious in so far this weekend, but I have a new vet and so it makes it bit more difficult, I will have her butt whipped into shape quick smart though, like all these jobs paper work is a lot of it incse we get sued, we have to write and fax and copy and check every thing we do as we are mostly working for other vets in the area.
Normally I do the animals, the vets do the paper work, but I will have to train her how, where and when , its temptong to do it myslef cause its quicker but I will try not to!

No word on the surgery apart from it isn't yet!!!:lmao: After no letter yet again, on Friday I phoned the admissions department and she could see I was on the list and went to check at the day surgery ward, but they said they had no info on me as yet!!!! I left a message with the consultant's secretary and said I would accept a cancellation but we will wait and see. Well I guess I will be doing that anyway!!! The Doc said 2-3 weeks, so I should hear this week.

Get that new vet shipped into shape quickly Lynne!!!:rotfl2:

Good morning everyone!

Happy Mother's Day weekend to all of you Moms and Grandmoms! Today we celebrate Daughter's Day in our home... created years ago when our DD thought thier should be a special day for her. So today is the day we do whatever she would like to do for her special day. Unfortunately, this year she has to share it as my Sister is visiting and we are celebrating Mom's Day today...so we are off for our traditional day at the races...hope that's what my DD wanted to do.. :lmao:

We will make it up to her...she gets to choose everything else!

Have a great day! Welcome to the new cruisers...Lynne..good luck with the new vet ... and somehow I missed someone was having surgery so I hope everything is okay!

Thanks Lynne. Though the low fat diet in the meantime is quite good for the weight loss. Not good enough though I might add!!!:lmao:

Keep up the good work with the vet!!:thumbsup2

Good Morning, Everyone!

Who's having surgery?

Hope all is well with everyone!

Not sure I shared on here at the time, but forgive me if I did!!!

I was in hospital for 9 days in December very poorly with acute pancreatitis, a very nasty painful illness:scared1:.

They couldn't find the cause at that time despite numerous tests and an ultrasound scan. Apparently there are about 60 known causes of which alcohol and gallstones are the most common. Alcohol wasn't the cause I must add here. I did have a further ultrasound at the end of January which did show some tiny stones in the gallbladder and inflammation, so they sent me for an MRI scan. Waited 5 weeks for the result - no stones now:confused3 but some inflammation. The radiologist checked carefully for stones in the bile and pancreatic ducts, but none there either. They don't want me to have another pancreatitis attack(me neither) so want to take the gallbladder out. So, just waiting for the date to come through. Should be a day case keyhole op and not much of a problem, and will hopefully get rid of this daily growing pain. If not, then:confused3

It us nice to agree. I will say, to each their own with their own points. That's why people bought them, I just don't see how hundreds of points per person makes sence, especialy since (well for me at least) I am paying about $129.00 per person per night.

Ok, give it up!! how are you getting it that cheap?????

Wow! I am so sorry. I had mine out in Dec. 2008..I hope they get you taken care of quickly!

Thank you both. The waiting is a pain in itself isn't it. Whenever you have to wait for anything medical things always seem much worse!

I am looking forward to having it done now!!!(If you know what I mean;))

For those DVC's are you staying at DL after the cruise? Think it's a lot for 2 nights if we can get in GCH. My other option is to get a cash room at DLH what do you think. We have a small contract 100 points but had some banked which help out for Pre cruise. Hoping to stay at BCV will know in less than a month.

Alan, I don't think Jeff saw it yet. On top of his regular job and driving monorails, he's a little league and high school baseball umpire. He's doing that this morning.
Grandmaz, pancreatitis is usually caused by one of those things, but not always. It's probably one of the more painful things to go through after childbirth and kidney stones. The gallbladder is a nice thing to have, but pretty pointless (kinda like wisdom teeth and your appendix). Hopefully getting it out will help.
Lexi, we're still undecided about if we will use points for our DL stay. It would be really nice to have a villa for laundry after the cruise. And with 4 adults and a toddler, it'll be nice to have to room. BUT we also would love to stay in a refurb'd room at the DLH. The cast discounts aren't out yet. Once they are we'll decide.

First we only do inside rooms. We have never felt the need to book a room with a window or a veranda. We are only in our room for about five things, none of which require or nessatate a window or veranda. Second we rebooked when we were on the ship in Oct. So we got the 10% off and the Gold OBC of 275. So that's the secret.

If I had spent 10 days thinking about this I could not have put it better myself.

Thanks Lynne. Seriously, if I want to enjoy something outside, I just get room service, go up to deck 9 to get my drink, and eat at the cove or go down to deck 4 and eat in one of those super nice chairs. All I need from my room is a bed, shower, toliet, sink, and a closet.

I think cruisers fall into two groups, those who love their own outside space/ view and those who don't care. (Of course there are those who love it, bit don't want to pay for it). Jeff and I fall squarely in those who love it. Thankfully we can pay for it, but having said that, we don't need it.

I see your side, but I like to think I fall into a different group. We just don't understand it and don't care cause we are cheep group. That is DW and I. We are cheepskates and just don't understand the need. To each their own, as my mom always says to my dad ( my dad my be the cheepest person on the planet) it is their money and they can do what they want with it.

I would have an inside room if it just didn't bring me out panicky just thinking about it!!!!! Even though it is irrational, just the thought of no window makes me feel breathless.:confused3 I think if I woke up in the night I would have a problem.

We are also cheapskates. I have a whole section in my blogroll of frugal sites. Coupon clipping, sale hunting diva. Except on vacations. We have always spent more. Granted the first PC cruise we had one of the "obstructed" verandah rooms. We spend in some areas and save in others. We would be fine this cruise in a Cat 7 or even 8. But my Mom likes to be pampered and not have to work at anything on vacation (can't blame her, she's been a nurse since Florence Nightingale - seriously!). She works hard (suppose to be retired and still works full time), so when we go away I want her to relax. So we're in a Cat 2 (which will be open to ya'll on selected nights, like Sci-Fi night and the Canal crossing.)
It really just is what works for you. If Jeff and I were childless and not traveling with a family, we might have done a cat 10. Who knows. Right now having some outside space works for us.
Whatever.....
Anyone else watching the new season of Doctor Who? I LOVE Matt Smith as the Doctor!!!
