I also tend to prefer to get on board early, but I've found that's really only a big deal on the short cruises. On a 15 night cruise a few hours one way or another on the first day means little (unless you're rushing to make dining changes) .

I could not agree with this more. I am goingto be on the ship for 15 days. If I get on at 1:30 or 2:00 I am so cool with that.

My daughter (12) and I are from Southern California.

daughter age 11 (Haley)...Haley is so hoping to meet some girls around her age. She made a couple of great friends on our last (and only) cruise in Dec. and hopes to do the same this time.

Carmie -At sailing my DD will be 11 - so hopefully they will become fast friends!!

I'll be bringing a DD(12) (Rebekah) as well, and we are originally from Southern Cali (Altadena), so maybe they all can get in contact with each other before the cruise. :goodvibes

Actually, I lied, sort of. DD will be an entertainer on the trip!! So looking forward to seeing her! She's in LA and we're near D.C.!!

Our first cruise, on the Wonder for 4 days, we had dolphins escorting us - that was fun! Wonder hwo much Disney paid for them!! LoL!! jk.
So we've gone from 4 day to 7 day to now 15 days. So next - living on a cruise ship??? :-D
I wish!:rotfl:
Our friends have decided to not accompany us on the trip. :sad1: So now we are questioning ourselves as well. :confused3 I hate that! Somedays I know what I want to do and others - life gets in the way.
You will make lots and lots of new friends, I know what you mean though , I q myself with trans atlant cruise cause of all the flight hassles, but I am so glad to still be going.
:welcome:Welcome to the new people. We have been on an extended vacation, but are back home now for at least the next two weeks, so I am trying to catch up on all the posts I've missed.

Happy Cinco de Mayo to everyone. We are celebrating with taco salads and Cabo Wabo margaritas. Hope everyone else is having as spectacular day as we are.
Hope you had a nice time!

We also have main dining. Here's a tip: Beach Blanket Buffet is table service in the evening and is an amazing place to have dinner on PC night (assuming you can't get Palos) - great views. :rolleyes1

TOP TIP>:thumbsup2

Good morning from sunny Ohio! Long but uneventful travel day yesterday but that is OK. My folks are well and it was fun to surprise my Dad on his birthday.

GREAT tip about arriving later for departure. On one of our family reunion trips, one of the family members had a later flight and we couldn't board until later than usual - I was really ticked because I wasn't onboard as early as possible. Turned out so well - LOVE IT. The terminal had maybe 20 people in it, the lines were non-existant and we still made lunch. That has since become our plan - works like a charm for us. As always, YMMV.

Have a great day!

We actually backed out from going on the '08 PC with Carol and Doug, pahrumpgirl. They went anyway and had an awesome time! Now, we are definitely going with them this time....I want to live and Carol would probably fly to Louisiana and kill me if I backed out again!! Hey, that may be a way to get a visit from her!! LOL!

Seriously, come! You've got 70 staterooms full of people waiting to sail with you.

You would probably get me and DH both. But I don't think you would want us to visit that way. :lmao::rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2:

there is such a thing! there are sailings that last for months on end, but imagine the cost of that! and it's def not with disney!

There is a ship that you can buy a condo on and live on it permanently. I have often thought what a neat idea that would be. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Well, it's not so much feeling like I'm missing anything. It's that I felt SO rushed. By the time we boarded, we found our room, had to run up to get something to eat (which was a total madhouse BTW), back to our room for a few minutes and then it was time for our safety drill. Felt like I barely had time to breath. Sure, it was just a couple hours of it being hectic and before I knew it was relaxing and enjoying my vacation. However, I'd like to see what it's like NOT to be rushing around.

Thanks for the tip on BB. I'm sure we'll catch dinner there one night. Not to mention most breakfasts. We loved having breakfast at Topsiders simply because of the view and atmosphere!

Yay!! So glad there are several tween girls. DD doesn't facebook or text but does have email. Perhaps we can exchange emails or get them chatting on the kid's thread.

Awww, come on. There are several of us that would love to meet you. My DH and I dont know anyone. At the very least it can be a nice romantic get away for the two of you. That is of course if you enjoy your DH's company. I dont understand when people say their spouses drive them crazy. I love spending time with mine. Besides the other AZ couple dropped out. You dont want me to be the only one representing AZ do you, lol

We have Cheri(Notsolittlemermaid) onboard. She is from Prescott AZ, but hasn't been posting.

About time I started nagging her!!!:lmao:

My DD is on the teen thread but she is says to me everyday "No one is posting" :lmao: So I am sure she would love to get to know the other girls.

Nope, not me =0). I plan on sucking the marrow out of every moment I have! If given the option of hanging out in the hotel for a few extra hours or on the ship, I will choose the latter. But, I respect those who want to wait. If I were closer to home, I probably would too.

We litaerlly were first in line for the '05 PC cruise and are usually at the terminal when it opens. However, this time we are a party of many with half of them coming in late the night before. There will be no rushing!
If I could I'd be there crack of dawn!

I have always tried to get on the ship early. Mostly because I have to get to Rockin Bar D in order to make changes to dining and Palo. But i do like being one of the first on the ship and getting to enjoy it for as long as possible. Luckily, i will be a platinum member by this cruise so i won't have to get there at 9:30 in order to get a #1 boarding pass. Of all the Castaway Club benefits, that is my favorite one!!! :)

Mikayla just signed up for the tween thread for this cruise (mickey218) so maybe they can chat there. Or, if your kids have facebook we could talk about that. Mikayla is on a protected page so it will take some doing to hook them up, but maybe we could discuss that privately.
I don't know if you all have season passes to D-land, but we will be there all weekend for an awards ceremony I have to attend so maybe they could meet.
So many options...

I like the idea of the kids emailing, and this post makes the magical 10 for me! Yeah! So, if you want to PM me, I can give you our email.

DD posted once or twice under my user name. She asks me frequently if anyone has posted but it has been very quite over there. I'll get her to post over there this afternoon :thumbsup2

We're holding off Haley getting a facebook. She really wants to but we haven't let her yet. I know we can protect her account so maybe DH and I need to discuss it further.

I would love to live close enough to either DL or WDW to visit enough to have season passes but living in Texas, it's just too far :sad1:.

Sure, sending you a PM :thumbsup2

We don't know anyone else either. It is amazing how quickly you can become friends with people. We went into our Dec cruise not knowing anyone and by the first night, we had made some new friends with a couple of families. We hung out with them off and on for the remainder of the cruise (still keep in contact) but also enjoyed our time together as a family and couple when the kids were off doing their own thing. I too love my husband's company. We're really looking forward to this vacation as it's a great family vacation, a great couples vacation, and a great way to make new friends!

Just made another payment over half is paid! Yipee! I think I will end up doing the FE. We met 2 Wonderful couples last year on the Magic. Even spent time at CC with them. Hope to do the same this year.
