wow... for real? we were looking to do a mini vacation to the bay area (the man wants to visit Pixar, of course) before i leave for 10 months, and that is a price that can't be beat!

are they still available in may that you know of?

Hi there,

If you are thinking about visiting Pixar to take a tour, just be aware, they are a closed studio (so no public tours). I looked at that a few months ago. I would love to go there and to Lucas Ranch that's also in this area to see how they do things, but its definitely a no for Pixar. :-(

Good Morning Everyone (well, it's 10.18am here...)

Was wondering if anyone's been to any of the ports other than CC. Did the '08 PC cruise stop at the same destinations ? If so, what's worth seeing ? Any ideas on what DCL may offer as shore excursions ?

I've been researching Aruba online, but am equally interested about the other ports.

Cheers,
Sally :)

haha well, unfortunately, i'll be in training for my contract aboard the Wonder very soon, and i just don't think we'll make it before i have to leave. i have so many other things i want to do with BF; scuba diving in catalina, the zoo and sea world in san diego, aquarium in long beach, medieval times (haha of course), camping on the beach in orange county, etc etc.

so we're probably going to go after BF finishes his next film and my contract is over, which won't be until about this time next year.

it's not really a museum. but they have art all over the walls inside the studio. you apparently have to know someone to get in, which , since it's his field, he does. sometimes. i don't know if he knows anyone there now anyway.

Right - getting into Pixar or LucasFilms is very hard. And no need for anyone to apologize or explain for that.

I just saw a slight hint of a possibility, and figured I'm mention my interest "just in case". :rolleyes1

If anyone manages to get a tour in either of these places and can bring a friend or 27, I'll be a friend!:cool2:

I can only comment on Cabo. We LOVED Cabo. We did the sea kayak tour to Honeymoon Beach and then Cabo Wabo. The only downer is it's a tender in. In '05 we got stuck, or as a friend put it, the Captain had anchor management problems. (i.e. the anchor got stuck)

Oh, talking of Cabo, that reminds me. Had a flyer from Chevys - they are now offering CaboWabo's Rock N Rita. :woohoo:

I went to Cabo about 9 years ago now. There are boating / sightseeing / snorkel tours. Glass blowing factory, Beaches, off road experiences and more. Near to the port is the market - they triple the prices when the cruise ships are in so haggle hard!!!

I just heard that Cat 11C are now available again on the PC cruise. It is true and they are showing at least 7 Cat 11C(old Cat. 12) rooms available. I priced it out and the price is higher( about $400) than what I paid back in October for my Cat 11B.

I hope this means that I will pixiedust:get an upgrade. I can hope right?:wizard: I would be so happy to get a Cat. 10 or 9 room.

I'm just learning all this - what's Cat 10 or 11??

Hello everyone!

I/we are new to the group. Have been on two other DC, one last May for 3 days and then one last Nov which was 7 days. Seems like it has years ago since we were there.

We are counting the days until we hit the high seas again for 15 wonderful days. We cannot wait!

Me Too! DH and I did a 4 day in 08 and 7 day in 09 and because my DD will be a cast member on this cruise (and mnths befdore and after) we are going to do this one. Signing up any time!!

So I'm guessing disneywondergirl22 is your DD?

yea, but when you know most of the employees and have been offered employment there, you kinda get things sometimes!

also, i never used the term "tour" :) that was something someone else brought up. i used the word "visit", which i think implies something completely different, and honestly, is something completely different in our case, since we would be visiting people we know, not just trying to roam the hallways.

connections connections :)

haha hi mom! you found it!

i'd mentioned a bit ago that i was going to direct her here. DM and DD (and hopefully BF) are going to join me on this 15-day sailing. DD is retiring a few days before the cruise, and since it's a big birthday for me, and since i'm missing everything to work, it just makes sense :)

if only i could get grandma on a ship...

Pixar? Wouldn't that get him in hot water? :-D

i don't care if he gets a job at pixar as long as his contract is over by the time mine is over. he just applied for a gig in vancouver and was going to apply for one in australia (i curbed that one ASAP; he would be leaving immediately, and would be gone until late June, so you can probably tell how that one went over haha)

but i can't tell him not to get a job in another country when i've done it twice now myself...

(btw, mom and i live on different coasts, east coast/west coast hehe)

I'd love to see inside Pixar - so if you actually do end up putting something together and wouldn't mind a couple of tag-alongs..... :rolleyes1

"Adventures by Disney" has a tour that takes you to Pixar, Disney Studios and Archives and into Walt's apartment at Disneyland. Would love to do this one someday. :thumbsup2:worship:

Yes, the $9 flights were a special and I am sure there might be... oh... 2 on a flight.:lmao:

Sign up at TravelZoo for their specials. They email a list weekly and flash post super specials as they occur.

A few years ago we flew from Las Vegas to New York with Pixar executive Brad Byrd's family - my DD loves his son - wife is very nice. Maybe they could get me in to Pixar!! I could have my DD write his son a letter!!
