From WDW to DL With Love - January 06, 2011 part 2

i will be a cast member working on this sailing, and for several months before and after. and will be celebrating a milestone birthday on this sailing as well, which will be great, i think! to be in some "exotic" place for my birthday haha i don't know the exact itinerary yet, so i don't know where we'll be for my big day, but i'm excited at the prospect!

I know that itineraries are subject to change but I haven't heard of it happening very often. Are you suspecting a change in our itinerary?

BTW, we had an itinerary change on our Dec cruise and it worked out great. I'm just curious if you know something that we don't

You guys seem to know about a lot of things - has anybody dumped cable for something else? If so, what? And how happy are you with it? (Tv and internet)

We got rid of cable / satelite and use a regular antenna and get free over the air channels. We get great reception 99.9% of the time. Unless you're hooked on cable channels, I would give it a try.

We are originally from Livermore. We will be staying at Flag City RV rsort in Lodi for my daughter's wedding from 7/24-9/30. Might be fun to meet while we are there since we will be neighbors on the cruise. Let me know....

Wow, you'll be out this way for quite some time. I take it you get to help with all the wedding prep? I agree, we should try to get together before you leave the area. Once you're here you can see how your schedule works out and I'm sure we could come up something fun. It will also give me a good excuse to go visit my Aunt that lives in Lodi.

By the way did you know any Huffman's when you where in Livermore? My great uncle and their family lived there for years, he owned a Hardware store for many years before he retired.

Wow so are you a DCL cast member? I would love to hear some stories of what life is like as a CM on board! I have always wondered what it would be like.

haha not yet. i won't board until september. so i won't know first hand until then! but i do work at disneyland right now i've been hounding my friends who have worked the same contracts for information on shiplife. it should be different and fun!

nope. i dont know a darned thing. i just know that the last time i checked the DCL website, no itinerary had been stated, just to come back and look for it later, along with the excursions. so i don't know a darned thing. i'd put money down that you know more than i do.

i was hoping we'd be doing something fun on my birthday haha in a fun place, like aruba haha but i have no clue. i'm the last person you should ask about anything like that, thats for sure

edited to add: ooh, the itinerary is up! we'll be traveling thru the canal on my big day. wonder what that means. do we stop at ports, or just go through the canal slowly and look from the comfort of the ship?

Yay, it's nearly the weekend !!

We've got a fun weekend ahead of us, there's about 13 DISers heading to Wales for our friends 40th birthday. We're staying in two huge caravans, and we're having a Margaritaville evening tomorrow night. It sounds like it's going to be a great laugh, so I'll make sure that I take lots of photos

I hope everyone is having a great week!!
I can't believe it is almost the weekend already!!
As of Sunday, things will be very different around here. My dad , who is very sick, will be moving out here to CA from AZ. He is moving in with my sister, but I will be helping her out quite a bit with him. We have to get him situated with dialasis three times a week. Wednesday we have an appointment with a case worker out here to see what his options are. Then we need to find him a doctor to take on his case. He has failing kidneys, COPD, and a bad heart. I feel really bad for him, he is going through a divorce right now. I know he will be better off without stepmom. But I know he is going to have a hard time of it in the beginning.

Well I am seeing the Losers tonight and tomorrow DW and I are off to DL to the monthly pin trading at the DLH. Then on Sat back to work at 2:30 PM.

We go through the canal very slowly with plenty of time to take in the scenery. We stayed overnight just before the canal with all the other ships waiting to pass through and set off early. There was a great atmosphere onboard even among the CM's so expect to have a good time. Busy of course as always though. There were quite a few CM's out at different times at the front watching the progress, and some out and about getting photos too.

ahhh, i'm so jealous haha

i've been looking at the website made just for this cruising (which my parents are signing up for, as soon as they decide whether they will be using DVC points or my CM discount) and looks like it's going to be so much fun! i haven't done much research on it yet, but hope to soon, to get an idea of what it'll be about.

Seems like saturday here already- School Corp is hosting some national training on some new "educational technique" today so no school- and yesterday sort of had the feeling of the day before spring break in classes- lots of noise- little work being done LOL. So it really does feel like a saturday already!

Huffman doesnt ring a bell, but DH lived there longer than I. He seemed to know everyone in town. It has changed so much, cant believe how much it's grown. We will definitely get in touch with you once we know our schedule.

The centerpieces, bouquets, table covers, pocket hankies, cake, bridal jewelry, sweat suits for bridal party, favors and favor decorations, guest book, all the stuff for the bridal shower.....At least it keeps me from dwelling on this cruise too much. If I didnt have the wedding as a "diversion" I would be going crazy!

Wow, you'll be busy alright! Enjoy! Both of our kids are married and I'm not sure I'd want to go through the whole wedding prep again anytime soon, not to mention the expense.
