I guess I am sorry cause I did not mean to start such a debate. Almost done packing, just have to do the stuff for my carry on. Not going to get much sleep tonight, I am off at midnight and the first part of my cross country adventure is at 6:45 in the morning. So if I am lucky I will get 3 hours.
I probably wouldnt be able to sleep:banana:too excited,
Debating or even just discussions are the meat of life. You learn so much by finding out what others believe and feel.
I hear you about the kid thing. I love our son. Jack means the world to us. But I use to get excited over great bottles of wine and a great meal (well I still do, but occassions are few and rare), now I get excited over sales on diapers (btw, there's a great deal on Pampers at Target this week - Jeff -who never calls me at work - called to tell me about it today). They do suck the life out of you (I've been known to call Jack a parasite) but the rewards make it worth it. It's very similar to dogs. A lot of work, but so awesome in the end. But you have to be the right kind of person for either.
By the way, we will be at Epcot Sunday. We have a 3:10 ADR for Moracco with TDC Nala. If anyone is around at Epcot that day, let me know.

I wish!!!

Ha! I thought you were from the one way up North (right next to Fort Lee) didn't realize there were 2. Hubby is from Sayreville.

I had a feeling you must have been talking about somewhere up North! It really is funny how small NJ is and how people really have no clue where you are talking about up North if you are from South Jersey, and vice versa. LOL the only reason I know where Clifton is, is because it is the headquarters of one of our vendors at work :rotfl2:

I completely agree about what you said about debating and discussions. I love debating things and hearing opinions from other people, but I just hate when people go on the defensive unnecessarily all the time, like they just want to "start something." It seems like we have a great group here, the kind of people who enjoy and respect other people's points of view. I have, however, encountered other DISers on here who just seem to want to pick a fight whenever someone disagrees with them. My favorite are the discussions about whether you should leave additional tips at Palo beyond the $15.00 charge/pp...people really seem to get worked up about that one, when it is totally unnecessary because everyone is entitled to his or her view. Anyone else have any interesting stories about a debate that got out of control on these boards?

Sunday at 4 I will be DHS for Baseball tonight. The other time I will be up at MK. Funny you said the whole parisite thing. My dad once once called me leach. I stuck to him for 18 years and sucked him for all he had

Wow, I am sorry I chimed in on this one. Oh well, yes it is true I am not a dog fan. To be honest I am not a pet fan. To much work, same reason I don't have kids, to much money and work.

I've got kids AND I agree with your kids philosophy. But they are adult kids...

My fave is the adding a s to the end of things that don't have a s. For instance a lot of people call it Palos and the name is Palo I just saw another about a cruise on the Disney Dreams, not Dream. I don't get why people put that s at the end.

LOL! I love the parasite thing. My adult kids 35 & 33 are living in a motorhome in my backyard. I tell my friends we have vampires. They only come out at night and they are sucking us dry!

I think it's okay for people to disagree. Yes, life would be boring if everyone were the same and had the same interest. Like I said before, I love dogs. I have always had them. However, I'm not a cat person. I very allergic to them and they just don't appeal to me. However, my BFF is a huge cat person. She knows I don't really care for them, but she doesn't hold it against me. Just like I don't hold it against her that she doesn't let her dogs go inside her house. :goodvibes

We did have a cat (it wasn't until he crossed the rainbow bridge that I found I was allergic to them - after he died, we had the ducts cleaned and suddenly, I could breathe) Anyway, Lion was his name (really Lowe, because he was german) and all the neighbors loved him because we lived in a farm village and he caught mice. Dozens of mice. he would line them up on the doorstep of whose ever yard he caught them in. pretty soon, after a couple years, there were no more mice, so the German ladies didn't lose their bulbs and potatos. Lion was allowed to sleep anywhere he wanted - they all let him in and made a fuss over him. When we moved across town, he would still find his way back to Waldstr. Then Bruce would have to go pick him up and bring him home. When we came back to the United states, we were stationed in the desert. There, it was dangerous to let your pets out alone because of the coyotes. He lived to be 18. So, I totally understand loving pets. I just can't have 'em any more.

It is the ONLY bad thing about long hols is leaving the 4 legged babes.
Border collies are just way way too clever for there own good(please post a pic) our old collie was priceless, so thoughtful and clever but way too over sensitive.

Okay...newbie question, How do I post a pic? I've read the FAQ instructions but on my User CP, I don't have Pictures as an option:confused3 yikes!

Okay...newbie question, How do I post a pic? I've read the FAQ instructions but on my User CP, I don't have Pictures as an option:confused3 yikes!

I use photobucket.com. There are other websites that work, but I'm not for sure which ones. Anyway, once you upload the picture to photobucket, copy the IMG Code and paste it in your message. The picture will then show up. GOod luck!!

Guess I will weigh in...I have 3 cats. I have lived with cats my whole life so it feels very natural for me to be around them. I actually came home from college and went to a school nearby because I hated living somewhere without pets!

I have never had dogs and most of my experiences with dogs have not been entirely positive, though I believe that has more to do with their ability to smell and react to fear. I believe that they could sense my discomfort and fear around them which caused them to act differently towards me.

Recently I befriended someone with 9 cats, 6 dogs, 2 ferrets, 3 lizards and 1 bunny! She had a mixing of breeds and I took to one in particular, a sheba inu (sp?), and since then I have become more open and responsive to dogs. Because of that, for the first time ever, when I was at a pet store and saw a puppy...I fell IN LOVE! So while most of my life I was not generally a dog lover, I have recently started to feel differently :)

Also, for the record, my cats have never let me down, made me cry, made me hurt or judged me. Animals are truly unlike any human ever could be, they offer their unconditional love regardless :) Also, I have two girls and one boy, who I call my "special" kitty. This will probably cause controversy but allow me to explain....I used to tutor children with special needs, mostly kids who had downs syndrome. I learned two things in particular that made them stand out: 1) they are extremely affectionate, love to hug, hold hands, cuddle etc. 2) while they have an amazing capacity to learn, they do not generally understand common sense. That is my boy cat to a "T". He is as sweet as the day is long but does things that make us roll our eyes a lot! :rolleyes1

I can't imagine my life without my pets but I undertsand others hesitance with them. My animals are not allowed on the counter, are groomed regularly and though they do shed it is not obvious when walking into my home that I have animals.

That's my two cents!

Holly

Thank you:worship:Thank you:worship:Thank you:worship:

All it needed was a BIG RED Button mark "THAT WAS EASY" :rotfl:

My DIS friends ROCK:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

My dh and I have a brother/sister litter mates Australian Shepards that are seventeen years old. I also had a Siamese cat that lived until age seventeen. That cat once absconded with a huge, freshly bbqd porter house steak; he grabbed the steak and jumped through a screened window and made off down the street, dragging the steak that was nearly bigger then he was!!

I will put up with what ever spots of bother there are to be had to have animals in my life. :thumbsup2

The first time my dd ever laughed was at age 4 months watching the dogs play; she watched and giggled up a storm! :rotfl::goodvibes

Well I'm going to sound like the meanie pet owner as mine are outside. We currently have 4 barn cats, one yellow lab and one border collie/brittany spaniel mix. Of course the border collie mix rules the roost. We usually don't get too attached to the cats as we loose too many to coyotes, but this group has been around for several years so they must be the smart ones.

My allergies are too bad to have them inside all the time, but we cheat once in a while and let the dogs in. We're lucky to have our DS & DDIL stay at our house while we're away.

When our kids where younger we also raised hamp & duroc pigs for 4-H and FFA projects, at one point we had around 30 pigs. One duroc sow grew to be 850#.

Hopefully, you can sleep on the way to Orlando. I am usually asleep before the plane leaves the airport. Learned to do this when doing a lot of international flying. Have fun at WDW - I'll be there next week. Yay!

Nope. I can't sleep siting up. I have to be laying down to sleep. It is alright. I will be fine. Nothing some beer in the lounge won't cure.

 Good morning everyone, and welcome to the newbies too

Thanks for posting photos of your cute pets. I used to love cats, but became allergic to them when I became a teenager :confused3 I love dogs, but don't have any at the moment. We used to have a gorgeous Golden Labrador called Sammie, and she was the softest thing ever :lovestruc

What are you up to today ? Anything nice ? I'm taking youngest DD out for some retail therapy, as it's her birthday next month

Have a lovely day everyone ::yes::

Last but not least, Dougal, the police brought him to work after he was run over, I nursed him for a week, nobody came for him. He was going to the dog pound and I took him home and put him in Mums house while she was out and crossed everything he would work the same Magic on her that he had on me.
It worked :thumbsup2 but we had to let him go 2 years ago, we all miss him.
