Changing Bounce Back reservation room-only to a package…?

Last month, I booked 3 rooms with a bounce back (room only) for next April. Our group has changed, and we want to get the dining plan and switch them to a package. No one has tickets yet, and I have an annual pass. Is this doable?
I thought I would get feedback here first before calling.

Yes but you need to call since you can't make this change online. Next since you are making a package, everyone in each room (package) will need to have the same package options.

In your case, if you add tickets to the packages then you (personally) will need to have a package ticket. You do have the option to prioritize your AP before your Package ticket. If you chose this method then you will have an expired Package ticket that you will be able to apply at a later date.

Yes before you ask, yes you are able to have ticket-less packages, and you are able to purchase all the tickets separately from the package(s).

I do believe that since I have an annual pass, I am still able to purchase the dining plan. However, what you’re telling me is that since my husband doesn’t have an annual pass and he needs to buy a ticket then I need to buy a ticket too since we are in the same room together. Correct? Do both tickets need to be for the same number of days?

Yes correct. Everyone on a package is required to have the exact features. In your case you will need to purchase (2) Date based tickets if you chose to have a Package that includes tickets in your example

The same would be true if you purchase the Dinning plan, everyone in the room is required to have the same Dining plan.

The default is to include tickets in the package but you can also choose to make it a ticket-less package, and then purchase your husband a dated ticket not part of the room package. You are able to purchase your husband a ticket directly from Disney but not have it include in the package price.

Everyone in the room needs to have exactly the same features…the same type,of ticket, number of days & type of dining plan. What you can do is make it a ticketless package. Then, buy his ticket separately. You will be able to add that ticket to his profile in MDE.

And FYI, when I booked a bounceback room only last year, I was told I wouldn’t be able to change to a package later. The systems for room reservations & packages are separate, so changing to a package would essentially be making a new bounceback reservation. Which if you are outside the 7 day window, you are no longer eligible to do.

This may have been an overzealous CM, pushing a package. Or maybe guest services can override it for you. But just be prepared in case you’re told you can’t switch to a package.

OK, got it, thanks for your intel. I was not aware of the ticketless package option, I thought that was just for passholders. We go frequently and almost never purchase a package, do tickets separate, so this is good news for me. No issues buying my hubby's ticket separately. But, I am also well outside the 7 day mark so it will be interesting to see how this plays out.

If you don’t mind posting if you’re able to switch, I’d be interested. That question comes up once in awhile so it would be good to have a real example. Good luck!
