From WDW to DL With Love - January 06, 2011 part 2

Okay, a totally random question...for those of you who have traveled way more than I, I was wondering if you know whether or not the 3-day Rainforest package is a common occurrence and if so, how much is it? I went through all of my Spa stuff from my Oct. cruise and I could not find the info anywhere, but I could swear there was something like that.
Just so that you don't think I am totally crazy for asking this question so early...I ask because I plan on paying for as much as I can before we leave and you can buy one day passes ahead of time so...???

when my sis and i did the cruise last year, they gave a special onboard. at least i think it was a special. i think it was $15 per day, unlimited use. we had to sign up by a certain time on that first day.

maybe i just dont go to spas enough, but personally, i didn't see the point. i mean, if i am remembering correctly, there were several rooms with different relaxation methods. but i just didn't think it was worth the $15.

sis liked it better than i did, but i just didn't think much of it. then again, it was january and freezing outside, so it gave us a reason to put on our bathingsuits! (tho we did end up braving the hot tubs outside on the pool deck at night with some other brave folk!)

I know we got it on our 7 day and looked into it for our 2008 PC but can not remember the prices...I seemed to think the 15 day was $150? But don't hold me to it.

i have no idea either, but that would make sense. ours was $15 per day, then the price dropped if you brought the whole package. so i think $10 a day sounds about right. but i would also think that that price was only available onboard on the first day, so i dont think it can be purchased in advance.

but i have no idea, just speculating

Her name is Iola, and she's my cousin, whom I've never met in person because she hails from the west coast. I hope she's going to come on here and post, but she's never done message boards before, so it may be a while.

There would be nothing wrong with us planning the FE, Secret Mickey, etc. Any lists made can be readily adjusted should someone need to be dropped or added.

I just suggest that we wait and ask Jeff (TIGFANJEFF) until AFTER the 90 day period to post the lists on our cruise website. That way, he's not having to do much adjusting.

I will ask Carol (pahrumpgirl) if she's ready to post the list for the dry wipe group.

Why can't we start planning? That's half the fun!

I agree! I will just check again in Sept. after FP to make sure everyone who signed up still wants to participate in the SM. Depending on how many people sign up - it's going to take me a little bit to match people. And I know people want to start shopping!

I think the $15/day is correct. You got a special price for the day (I think $8) if you had a tratement or you could do day by day at $15 and then a length of cruise. We enjoyed it. Esp. the heated loungers ...which was very relaxing for just sitting and enjoying but we did not use it every day so I am no sure we got our money's worth. I do not believe we will be doing it this time.

This is random but has anyone else noticed that depending which site you use for your vacation countdown ticker, the days are different? I use MickeyPath, and mine says 7 months and 7 days (aka 7 months and 1 week), but I see some of you who have used MyVacationCountdown have "7 months, 1 week and 1 day"...so me being the obsessive person that I am, I created a test one today on both sites (lol just in case I put the wrong date in the first time), but I got two different things still. Anyone know why they are different even though I put the same date?

Hmmm..kinda strange! Does one have where you put the hours?

I want to use the one that gets me there quicker!

Did they have couples spa specials on previous pc cruises? DH and I would both like to do the rainforest room and maybe massages. I know on our last carnival cruise they had lots of specials for couples. Also who do we contact for joining the fe? I don't get on here as much as I would like so kinda get behind on everything. What are some other plans for this cruise? Any plans for a greet and meet or ordering t-shirts? Hope all is well. WE booked a quick trip to wdw for aug. We just can't wait till Jan. Look forward to meeting everyone!

Well on the bus back to AKL. 'Ohana was amazing as always. Tomorrow is Yahtsmans Steakhouse. Yummm. I think a ride on Everest is in the cards. I was hoping it would be cloudy tonight to trap some of the heat in so I can go to the Hot Tub and not freeze when I got out, that ain't happening. I was hanging with my friend wHo works for DCL today. Got some interesting conversation In. Can't really get into it, but I have droped a clue as to what we talked about.

lookin' for something else in the forum and saw this. have to ask - did ohanas go back to their old menu or bring any of the stuff back? We (different people over 2 years, but one trip each year) have been underwhelmed compared to where it was, due to the menu changes. love yahtsman!

daft q ,but are you looking in the "sent folder" its a drop down menu,if its not there then its not been sent, copy and paste the name in the sddress bit.

'Ohana had a salad that was incredible. It had this honey lime dressing. Then we got teryaki chicken wings, pork pot stickers, and some teryaki noodles which were awesome. Then we got some good cheese potatos and vegies to go with the steak, shrimp, pork, and turkey squwers. Desert was a bread pudding but we do not like bread pudding so we just had the ice cream with the banana fosters sauce. I happen to know the head cheif at 'Ohana. He always makes me a special dish. This time it was a interesting potato dish. Overall 'Ohana is a place I must go to for dinner on everytrip. I would say this trip the Yachtsmans was the best meal and 'Ohana was second best. On most of my trips 'Ohana is the best meal. I wish I could go to Yachtsmans on every trip but I can't aforid to go there every trip.

I'm new to DCL, but its my understanding that FE is a small bag of gifts for the stateroom of everyone who participates in the FE. So if we have 100 people participating you would need 100 FE gifts and would get 100 FE gifts in return. The wipe board was a group that got together and pooled their money and are getting wipe boards to give as their FE gifts. A more expensive gift, hence the getting together and giving as a group. The Secret Mickey SM is a one on one. You tell the coordinator you are interested, she sends you a list of questions to answer and she matches you up. It can be a family to family or individual to individual or couple to couple. The sum of the little gifts you give you SM should total $25.

Now if I got any of this wrong, I am sure someone will correct me. I think it all sounds like fun so I'm in for everything!

Woo Hoo! Just made my last payment, well actually wont post til Tuesday but its done. Airfafe is paid, cruise is paid, now just need to make the shuttle reservation to get us to the airport. It's all coming together now....

Talk about an embaressment of riches, I think i'm getting a second room mate. If I do get the second one, would any of the lone ladies like to have one of them? Cousin Iola would really prefer to be in a balcony cabin, which is what she had before her previous room mate cancelled on her. I feel like a matchmaker
