Hi friends -

I will do an update on my PTR, but my Disney trip plans are now in the air. My sweet Grandpa passed away this morning after a long battle with dementia & pnemonia. He was 83 & lived a long happy life. We think his funeral is Saturday morning so we won't leave for WDW then. My aunt is going to call the airline this afternoon & see what we can do but honestly, it's the last thing on my mind. Grandpa was the patriarch of our family and although we knew he was getting weaker, it isn't any easier.

Thanks, friends....sorry to hijack your thread Jill & MeMom. :)

My boyfriend's grandmother passed away exactly one week ago. Like your grandpa, she was definitely the matriarch of the family, and even though everyone knew she was getting worse (stage 4 renal kidney failure and congestive heart failure), it was still very hard when she passed away. I'm sorry for your loss

I am so sorry for both of your losses.

I came to terms with all of this when I had my cancer surgery when Jill was still in high school. I had 'the talk' with God about where I was, basically nowhere, and who I was, basically nobody, and then I just turned it over to whatever it was going to be. I think if you have the serious opportunity to do that, it puts all things into a much better perspective. For me, life here is grand, but what is yet to come is better. Just be what you can and do what you can here, and later, we'll just party all the time. :)

This seriously made me cry. You're so darn wise MeMom! Have an awesome Friday. TGIF! :goodvibes

Hi there MeMom!

I have been reading along, bit by bit! Glad you had fun on your October whirlwind! Nice sneak peek! :thumbsup2

So fun seeing your Star Tours pics from DHS, since now that ride is shut down! I am looking forward to seeing it in its new state! The ride at Disneyland is closed too.. I can't wait to share my Disneyland pics with you all!

Oh, and on that Calgon bit... wouldn't that be nice??!! Maybe Disney is a little bit like that though -- not in a bottle but in a place ;)

Sounds so fun, your trip in February! We will be there one night before our president's day week cruise, which is a week ahead of you all. I bet that will make getting to your next trip fun!!!! Can't wait to finish the summer trip and hear all about fall :goodvibes

MeMom, Just checking in for a minute that's about all I can do. Still lots of pain and low grade fever. I hope the nuclear test I have Monday tells them something because I'm not use to everyone taking care of me. I'm the one who takes care of everyone else. This has really got me down. Ty is having a hard time, he doesn't understand why I can't hold him and play with him.
I hope your friends get more good news. I'm so glad to hear your friend gets to go on the trip with you I know your excited.
Anyway, I'll check in when I can. Have a great weekend everyone!

Hope everyone is doing well. I haven't been around much in the last couple of weeks, too much stuff going on. We're starting to get excited about the Christmas surprise. We received the planning video the other day and watched it while Declan talked about next summer's trip.

Good times!

We sure know what you mean! I was squeezing in two last tests quickly this morning before the deadline.

I am excited for your holiday trip, since we don't have one. I am looking forward to seeing so many people's pictures so that I can 'kinda' be there. :santa:

Praying for BIG miracles and for an end to their suffering. God bless!

I think they are doing some more procedures on Caleb, or maybe did today. All we can do is just have faith that God has a perfect plan.

He may be able to pull something off. He tried to give Wigd a hint but she didn't pick up on it. lol

He would certainly make Jill very happy.
She loves, loves, loves that ride! :dance3:

I am so sorry for both of your losses.

It's always nice to have the support of DIS friends. :)

I guess 'cause I'm so darn old, huh? ;)

Whirlwind it was! Just a teaser that left me longing for more Disney time.

I will be ready to try out the brand new Star Tours as soon as it gets up and running.

Disney World is my 'take me away' place, for sure!

If Jill can get some pictures up tonight, I will do an installment tonight and one tomorrow. I'm ready to get going on it, but with all the car issues this week, she's been too busy. The good thing about the October trip is that I have all the pictures already loaded, so there won't be any waiting. On the longer trips, she likes to categorize them by day, so things are easier to find. It does work well, except for the waiting part.

I sure hope you get some quick relief. I know my girlies wouldn't understand or like it too much if I could play with them.

Kay will have a good time. She has always been one to work and work and work, so it's nice when she gets to do some fun things. The older she has gotten, the more she has allowed herself to have fun. She and some of her family went out west this summer to some national parks, and she really loved that. The only drawback to her going is that she's not so great about begin on time for things, but Jill and I have agreed that we're just going to go on without her if she's not ready and she can just meet us later. That's not meant to be mean, but just for everyone to be happy - she can sleep later, if she wants, and we can get moving. Thanks to Disney transportation, we can all be happy. :thumbsup2

A couple of tragic things have happened to people we know and sort of know in the past two weeks. A two year old boy was hit in the head by a falling boulder at Falls Creek Falls State Park. He is the son of one of the Church of Christ ministers here. His mother grew up as a foster daughter in the home of friends of ours that went to school with us and where we picked up our own 'special friend' for weekend visits to give the foster parents a break. He has suffered great damage.

Then we just found out about another friend who went to church with us for years and who has a son who works part-time with Drew. He has always ridden motorcycles, and he had a wreck Monday night. They say he is fighting for his life, and the news is not looking good right now. He is the son of the former Grand Old Opry singer, Bill Carlisle, if any of you know anything about old-time country music.

One moment in time, one step, one slip, one foot of space can make a difference, and we never know when it could be us. We just need to be appreciative of the good days and good things we have and always let people know we care about them. Keep these sweet families in your thoughts and prayers as they go through these very difficult days, if you will. And keep our DIS friends who have lost loved ones in mind, as well. We like being able to share one another's burdens.

Both of these families will be in my thoughts and prayers. Amazing how things can change in our lives so quickly.

So true. A week ago, Bill was a corny-joke-telling, motorcycle-riding, gospel and country music-singing, laid back kind of guy just going through his later middle years of life. Today one movement of a finger is a huge ordeal. He had a fever yesterday, probably from pneumonia. He can't be moved to Sheppard until he is fever free for 24 hours. None of the tests are coming back with very much positive results.

We have progress on the next set of pictures. When I checked this morning, there was a July 6th album. :dance3:

It is empty, however.

This means either Photobucket was not cooperating last night,
or the girls were not cooperating last night. ;)

I am going to Alabama this afternoon. If it was the girls that were impeding progress last night, I can play with them while Jill loads pictures. If it was Photobucket, I can't do a thing about that, but hopefully it will be more cooperative today. :)

Brooklynn is going to go to a fall festival this morning at the school she will be going to next year, so she can see the campus. She was telling me about it on the phone last night. She will have a fun morning and get to know the school a little.

She was also showing me her amazing gymnastics stunts last night on the phone.
Jill was pointing the phone toward her, and she would announce the action

- cartwheel, big cartwheel, bigger cartwheel :rotfl: -

and then do it.

I couldn't see a thing, but she sure thought I could. I wonder when she will discover that I can't actually see through the phone. :upsidedow
Until then, it is fun to imagine. We have Skype, but we just never think to hook it up.

Anyway, we hope you all enjoy this weekend with family and friends, and enjoy spending your extra hour, however you choose to use that. :cool1:

Photobucket was acting crazy that is why there were no pictures. It is cooperating now and is almost finished loading 190 pictures from the morning of July 6th.

We are also going car shopping this morning. John has his Excel spreadsheet with all the info on each car he wants to look at including mileage, Kelly Blue Book value, two other opinions on what it is worth. What they probably gave the people who traded it in. It is only 29 degrees here right now so it will be a super cold morning for test driving and both girls will be with us. Pray for my sanity as the engineer tries to find the perfect car.

Have fun with your girls this weekend and seeing Brooklyn's gymnastics in person instead of over the phone!

I will take some pictures to share so that you can see these wonderful tricks. :thumbsup2

Have fun today with the girls, and get alot of sweet hugs and kisses.

I am in great need of some sweet little girl hugs and kisses. I was just balancing my checkbook and checking on my credit card. :scared1:

*********************************

I told Jill I was very happy to hear that the pictures loaded, because I need some happiness this morning. I am now going to transport myself back to July 6th, a day I was not looking at credit card bills or balancing my checkbook.

A happy day. :)

It starts here,

and then continues on with a walk around Pop Century.

I feel your pain Jill! My DH is an engineer as well and John's type of shopping sounds very familiar.:rolleyes1

Let's look at some food.
Food makes us happy, doesn't it?

IMG_7080.jpg

How I love thee, oh wonderful POP waffle!

This was an Epcot day.

And a very important even was about to take place for Bella.

As we entered, Stitch was over to the right, as he often is, along with Daisy Duck.

We went over to see Stitch, and Brooklynn did what Brooklynn always does.

IMG_7088.jpg

Bella did what she always does, too.

Walks halfway up.
Stops.
Turns around and walks away.

IMG_7089.jpg

Jill goes in and tries to talk her into a visit with whatever character she is snubbing.

IMG_7090.jpg

But this time, when Bella sat down in stubbornness,

IMG_7091.jpg

Stitch sat back, too.

IMG_7092.jpg

And he just chilled.

IMG_7093.jpg

And then....

IMG_7094.jpg

YAY, Bella! :cheer2:

Now, if we can just get all the characters to plop on their bottoms on the concrete, we will be in good shape. :thumbsup2

On to try some more characters.

Brooklynn and Mickey = yes.

IMG_7095.jpg

Bella and Mickey = no.

IMG_7096.jpg

Jill has to get in again.

IMG_7098.jpg

The pictures of all of the food made my tummy rumble. I guess it is time to have some breakfast!

Yay for Bella and Stitch! I love when the characters do things like that.

I also wanted to let you know that I have started my TR if you are interested. The link is in my signature. You are sure to see some familiar faces coming up!:)

Going out to buy a bag of ice is a 'procedure' when John is involved. ;)

Engineers do have some redeeming qualities, though. If you ever want someone to build anything out of as little as cardboard and matchsticks that could hold up through an F5 tornado, John is your man. You know that little pig story? John would not have been the straw one, the stick one, or the brick one. He would have been the reinforced steel beams one, and the building would have entailed levels for the ground, a map for researching where the nearest river was, and a thorough investigation of where the sunlight would hit the windows at any given time of the day. It is possible that three generations of wolves would have turned tail and run away had John been one of those little pigs.

Okay, enough ragging on John. He's an engineer, tried and true, through and through. I'm sure he could make plenty of fun of me and my house. I am the duct tape pig whose house is barely standing while I am in Disney World paying more for my breakfast than my house is worth. :rotfl:

Let's see how Pluto rates with Bella.

IMG_7101.jpg

IMG_7102.jpg

It's you alone, Brook.

IMG_7103.jpg

Bella comes back for a peek.

IMG_7104.jpg

She actually really does like Pluto as much as she likes any of the characters, because she likes dogs.

How about 'Meenie'?

IMG_7105.jpg

IMG_7106.jpg

IMG_7107.jpg

IMG_7108.jpg

Can't you just see how relaxed she is? :rotfl:

Seeing characters with Bella can be quite exhausting. :upsidedow

Thanks you for telling me. I will be over there in just a few minutes. :)

The photos of Stitch and the girls are cute!

I would love to be back in Epcot playing with Bella and Brooklynn and Stitch man right now! :cool1:

I am sorry this am is spent with finances :scared1: instead of characters! Great pics from POP! Did I tell you I added 2 days there for the girls and I on our Dec trip since it was MUCH cheaper to fly out on thurs instead of Sat. They are very excited. The food court and gift shop will be very fun to see in person.
I am not a Stitch fan but I give him props for getting down on the pavement with Bella. Minnie also looked like she was getting in the floor action. Love the MeMom spy pics. Have a great aft with your girls!!
