Me too! Oh, and the Disney Store and Disney World.

If only we had a Disney Store. Jill and I may be taking a trip to Louisville Saturday to go to the zoo and the Disney Store. :)

Oh very nice cake Jill! That was so nice of you to do that. I know I've been appliquing tees for lots of people lately! I never charge either. Love the girls costumes so much! So creative!:

Memom....I hear ya on the house stuff. Especially if you're so close to paying it off!

If it will only hold up a few more years. We moved into it the Thanksgiving Trent was two, and he just turned 26. Six more years.

It feels good to nice things for other people. :goodvibes

Cute cake and even cuter girls!!!

I have only seen the pictures you guys have seen of Pocahontas and Meeko. I am hoping she has several more to share.

The girls are adorable!! Love the cake too!

And did your boys have an awesome weekend with all of those cupcakes and cookies???

Aahh SAB pics It seems sooo long ago that we were there.

I love the bathing suit also Jill. Gotta love Kohls I think I will be getting the girls in the office gift cards for Kohl's for Christmas. I never know what to get them from year to year.

The girls look adorable in their Halloween costumes.

Gift cards are great gifts, I think. I don't think they represent an uncaring attitude on the part of the giver, but rather caring enough to let the person get something they truly want or need. ::yes::

well we had an interesting day here! My parents stopped out for a few minutes on their way to visit my brother and his family for their trick or treat tonight! THey left...I fed Caleb a snack. About 15 minutes later I realized I had not seen my dog Rusty in a while. I started looking all over...I did not think he got outside when my parents left and the door to the upstairs had been closed. I looked all over calling for him which normally he comes when called...finally got my husband looking for him. We finally decided that he must have snuck out when my parents left. Checked outside and the neigbors houses...nothing. We pretty much decided he was gone and hoped that he would come back.
I decided to go check behind the couch that is in our dining room one last time incase he was hurt and could not get out. I ended up falling off the couch getting down. Then I hear a whimper. He had been stuck underneath our couch somehow. DH got him out and he has been fine but he gave us all a scare. Even Caleb was going around saying "Roo are you?" I got a boo boo out of the whole thing but we are really glad he did not run away. He is a small chichuahua so he would have not survived outside on his own!

Hope everyone is having a great Halloween! My nephew is going as Woody tonight!

Poor little guy! I know he was happy to finally be found. I bet you loved on him like crazy when you disvocered him.

Awesome cake!

Pocahontas and Meeko are adorable! I can't believe how big Brooklynn is!!!

She's getting to be a real little girl now and not a baby. She has some of the most interesting conversations and observations, too. I love being around both of them at their different stages of learning.

Ok I have not been over this way in WAYYY too long! I hope you will forgive me! When I logged into the DIS it said I haven't even been on since 10-27...I am on work overload these past few weeks!

Anyway, I caught up! I hope youre March airfare is going down. Right now only our departure date is available from SW and it's much higher than we usually pay. I'm hoping as it gets closer it will go down and I'm hoping the same for you

Thanks for all the BC pictures! That makes me so excited because we are officially booked there for May 31 and June 1...that's it right now haha I'm not sure why but the friend I'm renting points from said she was only able to get those 2 days right now and has to call back Tuesday for the rest. Fingers crossed everything goes well because that place is just gorgeous!

Jill, love your bathing suit! You said you got it at Kohls...sad that my last Kohls purchase was a new winter jacket rather than a bathing suit :sad2: Great job on the cake and on Bella's Halloween costume! Pocahontas and Meeko are ADORABLE!!

We may move the trip back a couple of weeks, but if not, we'll just pay the high prices, because I love and need my spring trips so much!

Everyone had been very busy. Don't worry about not checking in. We've hardly been here ourselves!

Oh my! I'm glad you found Rusty and I hope you're feeling okay!

Yeah, I hope you are too hurt or sore today.

Pocahontas and Meeko are toooo cute!!!

You think Brooklynn looks enough like Pocahontas to play her in WDW?

Good Morning MeMom and gang! Hope everyone had a safe and Happy Halloween weekend! My birthday was yesterday and everyone came over and had lunch. Then my camera shy kids let me take pictures of them at the local State Park. It is beautiful this time of year. They made me a cake and gave me my present! A Mickey Mouse Christmas Flag to hang outside. They saw me looking it over when we were at WDW the first of the month. They got sneaky and bought it for me. And I got this nice new laptop from my husband. I love it but I won't get to spend to much time playing on it because we are repainting our living room, then our kitchen and dining room. I want it done before Thanksgiving. Then when that's done we are going to repaint our bedroom and pull up the carpet and put down a wood floor. So i'll be here when I can I just might not get to post much!
Have a great day! Off to start painting!

I love that your family got you that flag! You'll have to show it to us. It may be the same one I have, but they may have a new one. I'd love to see it.

Good luck with all that fixing up. I need to do the same. Badly.

Jill,

What a great idea for Bella's costume! Your girls are just precious.

Memom,

I hope you have a better week with your new student.

He's absent today. Probably stayed out late last night. Kids don't come tomorrow, so we'll see how things go the rest of the week. One on one, he's much better, but in a group, it's really hard.

Now tell the truth, did you do a little happy dance when you discovered he was absent? ;)

If only we had a Disney Store. Jill and I may be taking a trip to Louisville Saturday to go tot he zoo and the Disney Store. :)

We are planning on heading to Louisville for spring break this year -- we want to take the kids to Churchill Downs and other fun horse stuff. You can scope out the area for me while you are there :goodvibes -- we have never been there before.

That cake is so adorable! I wish I could make that good of cakes for Little Guy. Very awesome.

The girls are so cute in their Halloween costumes!!

Hmmmmmm........... :upsidedow

Did you see this about the new Animal kingdom tours?

Animal Kingdom tours

Yep. Jill has said the guys are going to watch the girls for us one of these days so that we can go do one of the Animal Kingdom tours. :cool1:

Jill has been to that zoo before and says it's a good one. Probably all we'll see is the zoo and the mall.

Jill buys little gadgets along the way as she makes her cakes, which makes it easier for her and makes them look nicer. Maybe you can experiment with his cakes, and when you have your own kids to decorate for, you'll be an expert. :)

Finally caught up! I haven't had any time at all to DIS (or get online, period) since last Wednesday.

I love the pictures from Stormalong Bay! Beach Club is my dream resort. We stopped there briefly in February and I absolutely fell in love with it. I loved the whole atmosphere and just everything about it. Someday...:cloud9:

All caught up again. Got home Saturday from our trip and been sick since then.
Nice teaser pics of the trip. I never did see Duffy.
Nice pics of block party bash. I finally caught it though I will save my opinions for my tr.
The zoo looked like fun.
I love BCV. The pool is amazing and just the entire atmosphere with boardwalk there is great.
Can't wait for more.

I said it on facebook, but that is the cutest Pochahontas and Meeko I have ever seen!!!!! So sweet!!!!!

Beach Club is a very cool place, not only for the atmosphere, but for the proximity to Epcot and the Boardwalk. I have a 'someday :cloud9:' feeling for it, too. :)

Time has been crunched for so many of us since school has started. We hit the ground running in August and here it is November! DIS time - doing reports and reading other reports - has been lessened for me, too, and I feel out of the loop on so many reports. I catch up when I can.

Sorry you got sick on your trip, Scott. I hope you still managed to have a decent time.

Jill is a fan of the Boardwalk. She likes the resort and the Boardwalk atmosphere. I like Beach Club better. Either one would be most awesome to stay at. :thumbsup2

Jill has to load the next set of pictures, which will be anything else we did on the night of July 5th and then start on the sixth. We have four more days of the summer fun, and then we'll do the mini-trip from October.

I said it on facebook, but that is the cutest Pochahontas and Meeko I have ever seen!!!!! So sweet!!!!!

Thanks. I think they had a fun weekend with two Halloween activities. They have more candy than they'll ever eat, I imagine, and I am sure John is helping to get rid of it, since he's a candy person. ;)

***************************************

For those not on Facebook, you probably don't know that John's car got totaled by a deer yesterday morning, so they are scrambling to find a car. They definitely need two. I am hoping some good deal will come up quickly.

As soon as Jill can get the next day of pictures loaded, we'll move on. We'll be at July 6th, so we'll have some summer heat in the midst of our November fog and falling leaves.

Hope you all have a good day. I have conferences with parents today. Most of the ones I really need to talk to will not show up. I am always amazed that people can let me spend so many hours with their kids during a year and never get to know me or the classroom. I probably see some of these kids more than the parents do, yet they don't care to come and see and know where their kids are or who is influencing and teaching them every day. I just don't understand that.

Anyway, I hope I can make a connection with many parents today in a positive way that will make things better for them and their children/my students. So many of our kids have several strikes against them at a very young age, and anything I can do to help them overcome these struggles and make the future a little more positive and promising, I am glad to do. I wish I could pack them all up and take the to Animal Kingdom to see the animals up close - to go on the safari, touch those skulls, watch a procedure being done on an animal at Rafiki's, see the Nemo Musical and Lion King, etc. They would flip out! Then I'd take them to every country in Epcot and see the displays and eat the food. At Hollywood, there is no doubt I would want them to see Beauty and the Beast, and then we'd go scream our way through Tower of Terror. Last, but by no means least, I would take them to the most magical Magic Kingdom and go on every ride with them. I would spend the whole time just watching them be amazed and delighted at everything we did, saw, and ate. If I ever win the lottery (I still throw in my one dollar to the school pool every Monday), taking my students to Disney World would be high on my list of things to do.

Then I would come back home and get new carpet and get rid of this thirty year old shaggy green stuff. ;)

Have a good one, DIS friends!

Have a great day!!

That class trip would be something, wouldn't it? I do feel sorry for those kids; they need their parents and positive guidance, but for whatever reason don't get it. Makes me very upset. :(

Look at those two adorable girls on Halloween!! :) I also had a Pocahontas one year. I was so sorry to read about John hitting the dear. How is the car search coming along Jill?

The cake is adorable and the kids are even cuter! :thumbsup2

Sorry to hear about John's car...hope he's ok!

Good luck with your conferences, MeMom! :goodvibes Mine are just around the corner too...

Caught up after weeks and weeks and weeks and weeks of absence due to no internet access!!! We lost it during the packing and then when we moved house, it took 4 weeks to set up in our new rental place.
Glad to be back!!!!
xxx

It's so sad to think about your kids who have parents who don't seem to care very much. Hard to imagine, really, when I think about how much I love my sweet girl.

Fortunately, those kids are in your capable hands and will be well-taught and well cared for.

The girls looked adorable in their costumes. :goodvibes Sounds like John was okay, thankfully! Accidents with deer and moose can be so scary. Growing up in Maine it was something I was always on the lookout for. My mom had a bad accident many years ago when young moose ran into her car. They had to use the jaws of life to get her out.

Oh my, I hope John didn't get hurt in the accident. I will send :goodvibes for the car shopping.

I love the girls costumes for Halloween, so cute!

Lexi was Jack Skellington.
She got lots of candy too.
I may be nibbling on some of her candy as I type ;) ....:rotfl:

It's still crazy at work, if it's not one thing it's another.

One of my cat's jumped on the table ( a no-no) and dumped a glass of water on my DMom's laptop and it is fried.
So I have been sharing my laptop with her in the evenings.
So not much DIS time lately.
Good thing is I now know what to get her for Christmas. :upsidedow

A trip to the zoo sounds great!
It will be fun to spend time with your girls and get a Disney fix too. :thumbsup2

Have a wonderful night!

Jill, I saw your post on FB...glad John is ok and I hope you have some luck finding a new car!

MeMom, your students are truly lucky to have you as a teacher. You probably care about some of them more than their parents do which is sad, but true. That is something that I am trying to prepare myself for for when I start teaching. I'm sure though that even after many years of teaching, it doesn't get any easier to see some of those students who just don't have the home support :guilty:

Whew!! Caught up again! It looks lke July 5th was a lovely day to be at Disney, as if any day is a bad to be there! I woke up early this morning and as always your wonderful pictures and commentary have improved my glum morning. I know what you mean about parents not being involved all too well. We picked the community we lived in very deliberately for its great schools and involved community. Yet, last night they voted down our school levy. I guess that mean I will need to step up that much more to enrich my child's education. I'll start off by my usual Wednesday volunteering in Doug's class.

I hope conferences went well and that Jill and John are able to find some safe, affordable, reliable transportation!

Hi friends -

I will do an update on my PTR, but my Disney trip plans are now in the air. My sweet Grandpa passed away this morning after a long battle with dementia & pnemonia. He was 83 & lived a long happy life. We think his funeral is Saturday morning so we won't leave for WDW then. My aunt is going to call the airline this afternoon & see what we can do but honestly, it's the last thing on my mind. Grandpa was the patriarch of our family and although we knew he was getting weaker, it isn't any easier.

Thanks, friends....sorry to hijack your thread Jill & MeMom. :)
