Praying for BIG miracles and for an end to their suffering. God bless!
Hi friends -
I will do an update on my PTR, but my Disney trip plans are now in the air. My sweet Grandpa passed away this morning after a long battle with dementia & pnemonia. He was 83 & lived a long happy life. We think his funeral is Saturday morning so we won't leave for WDW then. My aunt is going to call the airline this afternoon & see what we can do but honestly, it's the last thing on my mind. Grandpa was the patriarch of our family and although we knew he was getting weaker, it isn't any easier.
Thanks, friends....sorry to hijack your thread Jill & MeMom.![]()
My boyfriend's grandmother passed away exactly one week ago. Like your grandpa, she was definitely the matriarch of the family, and even though everyone knew she was getting worse (stage 4 renal kidney failure and congestive heart failure), it was still very hard when she passed away. I'm sorry for your loss![]()
I came to terms with all of this when I had my cancer surgery when Jill was still in high school. I had 'the talk' with God about where I was, basically nowhere, and who I was, basically nobody, and then I just turned it over to whatever it was going to be. I think if you have the serious opportunity to do that, it puts all things into a much better perspective. For me, life here is grand, but what is yet to come is better. Just be what you can and do what you can here, and later, we'll just party all the time.![]()
Hope everyone is doing well. I haven't been around much in the last couple of weeks, too much stuff going on. We're starting to get excited about the Christmas surprise. We received the planning video the other day and watched it while Declan talked about next summer's trip.
Good times!
Praying for BIG miracles and for an end to their suffering. God bless!
He may be able to pull something off. He tried to give Wigd a hint but she didn't pick up on it. lol
I am so sorry for both of your losses.![]()
This seriously made me cry. You're so darn wise MeMom! Have an awesome Friday. TGIF!![]()
Hi there MeMom!
I have been reading along, bit by bit! Glad you had fun on your October whirlwind! Nice sneak peek!
So fun seeing your Star Tours pics from DHS, since now that ride is shut down! I am looking forward to seeing it in its new state! The ride at Disneyland is closed too.. I can't wait to share my Disneyland pics with you all!
Oh, and on that Calgon bit... wouldn't that be nice??!!Maybe Disney is a little bit like that though -- not in a bottle but in a place
Sounds so fun, your trip in February! We will be there one night before our president's day week cruise, which is a week ahead of you all. I bet that will make getting to your next trip fun!!!! Can't wait to finish the summer trip and hear all about fall![]()
MeMom, Just checking in for a minute that's about all I can do. Still lots of pain and low grade fever. I hope the nuclear test I have Monday tells them something because I'm not use to everyone taking care of me. I'm the one who takes care of everyone else. This has really got me down. Ty is having a hard time, he doesn't understand why I can't hold him and play with him.
I hope your friends get more good news. I'm so glad to hear your friend gets to go on the trip with you I know your excited.
Anyway, I'll check in when I can. Have a great weekend everyone!
A couple of tragic things have happened to people we know and sort of know in the past two weeks. A two year old boy was hit in the head by a falling boulder at Falls Creek Falls State Park. He is the son of one of the Church of Christ ministers here. His mother grew up as a foster daughter in the home of friends of ours that went to school with us and where we picked up our own 'special friend' for weekend visits to give the foster parents a break. He has suffered great damage.
Then we just found out about another friend who went to church with us for years and who has a son who works part-time with Drew. He has always ridden motorcycles, and he had a wreck Monday night. They say he is fighting for his life, and the news is not looking good right now. He is the son of the former Grand Old Opry singer, Bill Carlisle, if any of you know anything about old-time country music.
One moment in time, one step, one slip, one foot of space can make a difference, and we never know when it could be us. We just need to be appreciative of the good days and good things we have and always let people know we care about them. Keep these sweet families in your thoughts and prayers as they go through these very difficult days, if you will. And keep our DIS friends who have lost loved ones in mind, as well. We like being able to share one another's burdens.
Both of these families will be in my thoughts and prayers.Amazing how things can change in our lives so quickly.
Have fun with your girls this weekend and seeing Brooklyn's gymnastics in person instead of over the phone!
Have fun today with the girls, and get alot of sweet hugs and kisses.
We are also going car shopping this morning. John has his Excel spreadsheet with all the info on each car he wants to look at including mileage, Kelly Blue Book value, two other opinions on what it is worth. What they probably gave the people who traded it in. It is only 29 degrees here right now so it will be a super cold morning for test driving and both girls will be with us. Pray for my sanity as the engineer tries to find the perfect car.
I feel your pain Jill! My DH is an engineer as well and John's type of shopping sounds very familiar.![]()
The pictures of all of the food made my tummy rumble. I guess it is time to have some breakfast!
Yay for Bella and Stitch! I love when the characters do things like that.
I also wanted to let you know that I have started my TR if you are interested. The link is in my signature. You are sure to see some familiar faces coming up!![]()
The photos of Stitch and the girls are cute!
