I didn't even think about that! Is it the same for Christmas too?
People seem to be more accepting of Christmas, but we do have quite a few families who are opposed to Halloween. They say it's worshipping Satan. I don't get into all the deep dark past of Halloween. I just have fun with the light-hearted fun things. If the kids know they are not supposed to be doing a worksheet with a happy little witch or something, then I just assign them another page out of a textbook. Some of them are truly, adamantly opposed to doing anything so much as a worksheet where the Math problems are written inside little ghost shapes. Although I respect their wishes at all times, my feeling is that they are making more of an issue of it by being so, so 'dark' about it all, but all beliefs and cultures need to be respected for what they are, so I just give those kids a different assignment.
The only things I put in my room this year were the Mickey pumpkin bucket full of peppermints and a little Mickey Halloween figurine. We're decorating for the teacher lunch (tomorrow) tonight after the Math Night, and I'll put those things in there. It won't be as cool as Anita's Disney meal that she just did, but I'll represent us DISers just a little.
I'm sorry I haven't been around. I got behind at the beginning of October and I haven't caught up yet.
I'm several updates behind going all the way back to you July 5th day.
I really enjoyed the photos of the mouthwatering sweets. I also enjoyed shopping at DTD with y'all. You take the most interesting pictures. Loved the potato head parts. We didn't buy any this last trip so I need to make up for that.
DHS- I can't belive it NO BO! I hope he has returned. Love the Streetmosphere. I could sit and watch them all day.
Sorry I missed your send off, but it looks like you had a great trip even if it was short.
Tower of Terror is my very favorite thrill ride at Disney. Sorry the screams bothered Brooklyn.
I'm also happy to hear your kitty is better. Tell Drew a belated Happy Birthday. Great news that Jarvis' mother is doing better. My sympathies for your hard week. Hopefully all will be better next week.
Whew I think I'm all caught up now!
The next time we'll get to check on Bo will be spring, or almost spring. We'll have to see everyone else's updates and who dresses him up for holidays and other things between now and then.
We're still on July 5th.

July 5th must have been a very long day!
Oh my goodness!!! What a week you have had so far, MeMom!!! It always seems to come in big clumps of craziness, doesn't it?

I hope your new student calms down after awhile!
I do hope Wigd shares what you gave her for her birthday!
She did.
Even with all her packing chores, she had time to re-live her birthday.
Catching up here! Sorry about your rough week...I don't know how you do it
Two things. I just bought a disney coloring book and the images in it are the same ones on your lovely tin Jill got you....how cool is that?! I am turning some of the pictures into appliques for a few dresses for our next trip!
Second, I love the pic of Trent and Tonya on the bus with Bella. I just love how much they love the girls. He is going to make such a great father someday!!!
Well, its almost Thursday of a fun weekend...enjoy!
Gotta love a Disney coloring book!
You're gonna have a fun weekend? That's good. I'm sure the girls are looking forward to Halloween fun. I've got to find out whether our city is doing Halloween on Saturday or on Sunday.
Glad today was a little better! One day closer to friday!
This is the looooong one. Once it starts, it's going to be a long time until it ends.
Well, this is what they agreed on and I was thrilled!
Who knew we'd be telling you Happy Birthday again at the end of October?

By the time we get to your birthday evening, you'll be back in Disney World, and you'll miss out on the pictures.
Oh well, you'll be having way much more fun down there than you would here!
********************************
'Bout to start a long day. School, then two hours of tutoring, then Family Math Night, then decorating the lounge for tomorrow's lunch. Started my potato soup last night (potatoes, onions, bacon, and a little teeny tiny bit of celery) and will finish it tonight (broccoli and cheese). It's better when it sits for a day, anyway. It will be hard to choose from the soups that are coming tomorrow - chicken tortilla, chili, potato, and vegetable beef. We need divided bowls with four little sections.
I thought about driving down to AL this weekend to see my sweet girls as Pocahontas and Meeko, but they've got activities all weekend. I hope Jill plans to take lots of pictures, and maybe they'll dress up for me another weekend soon.
Have a good day, friends!
