Happy Birthday Drew!

What a wonderful day the two of you shared. :goodvibes Loved all the pictures from the zoo. It was a beautiful day here as well.

What a great way to spend a Sunday! Looks like you had a great time. Love the Halloween humor, and I bet the girls would like to do that next year.

Happy Birthday to Drew!

Happy Birthday to Drew!!!

I agree with Brooklyn's first critique of Tower of "Tara"!

Okay, the zoo doesn't even need to decorate for Halloween with all those scary, scary snakes! :scared1: The giraffes helped me calm down, though. I always enjoy seeing my tall friends! :goodvibes

Off to your Facebook page to see Drew's photos!

Happy Birthday to Drew! What a fun mother/son thing to do. I saw his pictures on FB! Amazing!!!

Hey MeMom! Just getting a chance to ckeck in today. Ty and Samantha had a Fall photo shoot planned for today and then we were going to the Pumpkin Patch.Well it hasn't rained here in weeks and weeks but did today. I was grateful for the rain but it did put a damper on our plans. We got to the park before the photographer cancelled so I took a few pictures before the heavy rain hit. (You can see them on my Facebook page) Anyway loved the zoo pictures. Happy Birthday to Drew. I also know how hard school can be for some kids. Sarah breezed through school and graduated early. Scott did pretty good, but Sam really struggled just to get average grades. She would read the same page of her book over and over and couldn't even tell me what she just read. It was very frustrationg for her. Our kids all have things that make them special to us in different ways huh?

I loved seeing Brooklynn on Tower of Tara. It is my favorite ride. Maybe we can all have a Dis meet and have a Tower of Tara ride together. I also don't really like to ride RNR it jerks my neck to much also. I'm pretty sure the doctor who did the Spinal Fusion in my neck wouldn't be happy if I rode it either. lol

Hope you have a good week!

That's such a great cookie tin! I'm sure you'll find many creative ways to use it. Jill is just the sweetest, but she learned it from watching you, MeMom. Such sweet things you said about Drew, and I'm so glad you got to spend a special day together - Happy Birthday, Drew!! :goodvibes

I noticed that, too. I wonder why Trent and Tanya are right next to the others. Trent probably picked up the people they're with. He has a habit of picking up strangers and inviting them into the family for different rides. :goodvibes

That is exactly what happened!

I hope that Jill is able to stay the whole time. But, if not, I know that spending alone time with Brooklyn would be fantastic and something that she would remember forever. My parents were older when they had me and so my grandparents were either deceased or elderly when I was growing up. My sisters have such great memories of doing stuff with them that I never got to experience.

I enjoyed the sneak peek of the fall trip. After I saw them a plan hatched in my head. This coming March is my 40th birthday and we were planning a trip during spring break (Disney was one of the options but we were checking lots of things out...) I suggested to John that instead of going spring break week (our break is right around Easter and prices everywhere are sky high!), that we head to Disney next October for some fall fun. I paused, waiting for the initial "uh, no" and was shocked to get a "Yea, I think that would be lots of fun!):dance3: It will be a super short trip and the kids and I will have to "skip" two days of school but it will be fun and a time of year we've never been. I thought we would have to pay to stay at a hotel but points are so low at that time of year that there are several places we can stay with the points we have left over from summer. Score!!

Brooklyn was brave to ride ToT. Ellie tried RnRC (thumbs down) but wouldn't even think about going on ToT. She says the music is TOO scary!

I love that tin!! I've never even seen it. You and Jill are so blessed to have each other to love and spoil!:goodvibes

I hope I am around long enough to share many good times with the girls, and I hope they remember them as being good ones.

Hooray for a fall trip! You'll love the colors and decorations, and hopefully the weather will be great, too.

I feel extremely blessed to have my three kids. :)

Happy Birthday Drew!

It was a beautiful day for strolling. I hope you'll check out Drew's pictures, too.

Happy Birthday to Drew!

I will pass the birthday greetings on. :goodvibes

Going to the zoo next year will be something to look forward to, especially if we end up waiting until Thanksgiving for another Disney trip.

You know, I meant to get some more rubber snakes for my rainforest scene, but I forgot! I got an emerald tree boa in Disney World, but they had more snakes here, and I forgot to get more. :sad2: My students will love a branch covered with snakes!

Happy Birthday to Drew! What a fun mother/son thing to do. I saw his pictures on FB! Amazing!!!

It was fun, and he and I rarely spend time together. He had a girl friend over here with him yesterday, and he allowed me to hug and kiss him while she was here. Maybe there's hope for him yet. ;)

The pictures were great. I hope you get to do the real photo shoot, too.

People who don't have a child who struggles in school can't really understand how it takes its toll on a family. I am glad he stuck it out and graduated, but I know many kids don't.

It will be a little difficult to face the day tomorrow, but once we get going, we'll make it okay.

I'm glad we did, too. It's a rare thing.

Jill is a good one. I think I will keep her. :thumbsup2

No surprise.

Happy Birthday to Drew! His pictures on facebook are AMAZING! Love the one with the leaves, so cool. It sounds (and looks) like you two had a good trip to the zoo. :goodvibes I told the jokes to my husband; he just groaned and shook his head. :rotfl:

I think I met the guys and Tanya at Starring Rolls.

I love looking at the pictures you take. I can see my self sitting right there at the end table on our last trip!

I enjoyed your zoo pictures. I have never been to the Nashville Zoo, but it looks like I should go. I'm glad you could talk Drew into going with you, I know that had to be a fun afternoon for you.

The tin Jill gave you is so cute, and my son would love the cookies inside.

Happy Birthday to Drew!!
Fun pics at the zoo
Cayley says she is doing TOT this Dec:scared1:

Maybe she can wear an elf hat and watch it go up high on her head in the picture. :santa:

Yeah, the jokes were corny, but the kids along the way were getting a kick out of them. I bet he would have thought they were funny back when he was about eight years old, and then he would have repeated them over and over to his friends and family.

We had a good afternoon just taking pictures and watching the animals. I enjoyed being with him, and he seemed to have a good time, too.

I know! Isn't it fun to jump back into other people's pictures and be right there? I do a lot of 'the view from where I sat/stood' pictures, just to be able to go back to that place again when I see the pictures. You can easily recall the sights, sounds, and smells of certain places.

They have done a lot to improve it in the last few years. It was very enjoyable.

The cookies are individually wrapped and will stay in the freezer for whenever I need to be transported back to Disney World. I know they would be quite a good, but I bet I could make a pretty decent ice cream sandwich with them, though, with a big dollop of vanilla bean ice cream. :)

Happy Birthday Drew. Those were such heartfelt words. There's no doubt that he is lucky to be a part of your family.

The Nashville Zoo Spooktacular is so much fun. We went two years in a row but missed this years. It would make for a fun meet next year:thumbsup2

:rotfl: so cute! if i would've guessed anything that brooklynn would be putting her hands over, it would've been her eyes. but no, it's her ears! i guess she didn't want to hear all the scaredy-cats screaming! it would be so awesoome to ride that with her. too bad we will probably never be at disney world at the same time!

great pictures of the zoo! :thumbsup2

happy belated birthday to drew! i love hearing your adoption experience with him. as i've mentioned to you, we've always kinda be interested in adoption, so i enjoy hearing anyone's experience with it. :goodvibes

Happy Birthday Drew!
What a relaxing day at the zoo, I think that sounds like a perfect way to spend the afternoon....
Great classroom finds too!

So, you are thinking the 4th of July again? Looks like we will be in So. Carolina over the 4th for a wedding then driving back and stopping at Disney.
That's our plan anyway....
I sure hope our dates work out again!

Sounds like a good plan for a meet. :) I really didn't give it serious thought until I was out there, even though I have seen the commercials/ads for it. After actually being out there, I thought the girls would certainly enjoy it.

I carry a lot of guilt about Drew. He had no choice in who he came to, and I know he could have turned out to be and have so much more if someone else had taken him. Instead, right after he arrived, he ended up being the youngest child to a single mother who barely made ends meet, and it hasn't gotten a whole lot better through the years. There is no doubt that the love is there and has always been, but I just wish I could have given him the material opportunities, as well.

Do you know what days you will be up here in November? I am hoping it will work out for Jill to be here so she and the girls can see Seth.

I was interested in adoption even as a teenager. I knew that even if I never married and/or had children of my own, I would want to adopt. I still wanted to adopt again after Drew, but I just didn't have the menas to do it. Holt International sent a list and pictures of waiting children frequently, and I longed to bring so many of them home and be a mother to them. If I had had the money, this house would have held several more kids.

Maybe we can have a zoo day when you are up here sometime. There are several DISers with kids that might be interested in coming.

Well, I think it's more like the 4th works out better for others. I don't like going at premium rate times when they are raising all the prices on meals, etc. because it is holiday time, but it may just work out better for us. I still haven't looked at the calendar to see where the 4th falls. John started a new job a few weeks ago, so he's got to check his calendar, too. Whatever works for the majority is what we'll go with. I suppose if I really, really want to be in Disney World on my birthday, I could pack Brooklynn up and she and I could go down for another few days in late July. :cool1: More likely, though, 2011 will see this for us - spring break or the end of Feb./first of March, July 4th week, possibly a short October 1st get away (Magic Kingdom's 40th birthday and Jill's XXth birthday ;)), and then either Thanksgiving or Christmas. That spreads it out nicely.

Brooklynn is very sensitive to screaming. That is why she didn't want to ride Haunted Mansion because of the scream at the very beginning. She said that is why she didn't like Dinosaur because the girl behind us was screaming like a ninny behind us. Even with the parades she will cover her ears.

God knew exactly what he was doing when he placed Drew with you. He placed him in a home filled with love, and with someone who would except Drew with his learning problems. The great things about it is God placed that love in your heart as a teenager. Plus because of Drew you are a better teacher now to all the students that have been placed in your care during the school day.

Do you know what days you will be up here in November? I am hoping it will work out for Jill to be here so she and the girls can see Seth.

i think we'll be coming up late on wednesday and then leaving on sunday. what i've been telling people that aren't family is that we will probably have to have them come to us to visit instead of vice versa. sinced seth won't be quite 3 months old, i don't want to be dragging him all over tennessee and causing us to be exhausted in the meantime. but i DO want to see everyone. since gallatin is relatively close to you and erica and some other friends that want to see him, i've been telling people they can either come to my grandparents or mom's house to visit, depending on where we are. my guess is thursday i'll be with mom/grandparents in gallatin, friday i will be with my dad who knows where and then saturday back in gallatin. so i'm thinking either thursday or saturday would be the best bet. let me know when they're going to be in town and we will work something out!

She said that is why she didn't like Dinosaur because the girl behind us was screaming like a ninny behind us.

:rotfl2: she cracks me up! so if she doesn't like the loudness of screaming how does she feel about the fireworks?
