We love it too!
Has the water taste improved any since construction finished? We noticed in January that the water was extra bad (even for Florida swamp standards). It even made the soda machine at the pool taste wonky.

On our recent stay at Coronado for D23 the water from the sinks and soda machines tasted fine so I was hoping BLT/Contemporary would be “better” now.

Bay Lake area resorts have that issue. The wilderness lodge is horrible.

I agree, I was hoping they would “fix it” with water filtration or something with this remodel. I haven’t stayed at a non Bay Lake resort in about 6 years so I was wondering if things were better just because Coronado Springs and BWV didn’t have rancid water.

We haven’t noticed a bad taste to the water so it must have improved since then.

I have a cash stay booked as a back up if my waitlist doesn't come through. I've been slowly piecing the BLT portion together but am growing anxious because I'll need to cancel 11/15 at the 31 day mark if I'm not able to pick up 11/16 before then. Why couldn't it be the other way around?

We're usually in a GV at BLT. However, our past two trips were with different groups of our grandchildren, and we booked 2BR's under 7 months both times. (Around 6 months out as I recall) Once in April of this year and the other the end of July this year.

I was able to book a 2 bedroom today at BLT for our stay in April.

We just checked in and can confirm that the North elevators are open! A cast member said the renovations are now complete. So excited to be here for our first stay as owners!

Thank you for this update! We’ll be there next month and were REALLY hoping all elevators would be open!

I thought I saw a video tour on DVCFan that mentioned new TVs that would eventually be “ updated “ but having an issue with the tech.
I guess keep checking .
I’ll probably have to remember to pack bottled water just in case.
I can remember DL having the exact same issue …it was disgusting .

I still love BLT! Arriving for the holidays!

We checked out from BLT on the 14th and when we got home I got an email from them saying I had left a phone charger there. They are sending it to me.

Hi I’m hoping to stay for 4 nights next July in a one bed. My question is should I try and save enough points for theme park view or will preferred view be ok.
I’ve not stayed at any mk resorts before.
Should I try and request a specific room or area.
I have 2 teens aged 14&16, is this a good resort for them? As long as they can get chicken strips nearby they should be happy

Our first theme park view is coming up in November. It looks over the parking lot, so the view may not be all that great until the fireworks., but it is cool to see the Castle! On our previous trip we had a pool view. It was great as we could watch the grandkids in the pool with their parents.

Chicken strips are a quick walk over the skyway to the contemporary. My grandkids loved them. Hope they are still on the menu.

We Love BLT. Location is great! Easy to get to almost everywhere in the MK or MK resorts.

Same. I left some nice water bottles with our names (unique) on them and some charging blocks and cords, submitted the report with info as to which room and location they would be found the very day we left, and they were “never found” at Poly. It seemed like nobody even tried.

That sounds like a dream room! Have they contacted you yet? When my daughter hid a Minnie hat in the tv cabinet at VGF in April, I had an email from them before I landed. They mailed it at no charge fairly quickly.

OTOH, it was a while before my DVC magic band was found at MK.

As @RickNJane mentioned, you will see the parking lot between you and MK. Some people don’t appreciate this and call the TPV the “parking lot view.” At night, the fireworks and electric water parade and boats/monorail make it quite nice. But preferred view is lovely and often has you looking out over Bay Lake. It’s personal preference.

If you’re ok with letting kids at that age roam about with a bit of freedom, BLT is a great resort. Pools, restaurants, quick serve, shops, and lots of places to explore. You can also walk (if you’re up for it) around Seven Seas Lagoon to MK and then Grand Floridian and then Poly. Lots of walkways for strolling/exploring, and of course walkable to MK.

Thanks, I love the sound of the walks, especially if kids are having a lazy morning and I want to go out. I think preferred will be great for us.
