From Oil Wells to Jingle Bells-Bells,pg.66, See you in September!

Im sorry,,,,,,, I just came across this on that old report from someone who is still with us,,,, yeah, made me laugh.

Quote:
Hi,,,,,,,,,, lovebuzzandwoody, geesh! What? Supercalifragilsticexpialidoshus wasn't a long enough screen name for you?
And yes, I did see your edit, I always make sure to look at the bottoms.
Um, maybe that didn't quite come out right.

she answers with:

I thought about making it just lovebuzz but really woody is my favorite and well, lovewoody just would have been wrong. So... you can call me LBAW (and you can thank Jaime for that, it was her idea!). Or you can call me by my real name (GASP!) which is Nicole.

and so Nicole joined the fray! Thanks LBAW

We have a new edition to the family,,,a tad prematurely to say the least, born 3 weeks ahead of time but it sounds like it was a goo thing,,,,,,,9 pounds, 7 ounces,,,,,,,
meet Mason!
This is the second for Jeremy and Laura, Kaylie is 2 and a half, but now they have the pirate and the princess,,,,, should make for an expensive Disney trip when they are old enough.
Eveyone is doing fine, including Gramma Smidgy.

Woohoo:cool1: congrats!!!

Wow, a 9lb+ premature baby - that's a big baby! Glad everyone is doing well. Congratulations!!!

Congrats on the new addition to the family. Children make life worth livin'.....well, that and Disney. ;-) :lmao:

I enjoyed catching up on the "trip report", ahem.....Think I will read the previous one today....with all the extra time that I have on my hand.:rolleyes1

Oh wait, I have to do:confused3 laundry and pack.

The gas prices here are 2.63, wow. :scared1::scared1:

Kiersten, you have a great trip, don't worry about nuttin and bring me back a souvenier, don't worry about that either if you forget, cash always works too.

Boy, there used to be a time when I would go all day without eating, just some coffee and I wouldn't eat until I got home from work and had a couple of drinks.
Now, I'm in the kitchen all the time scouting things out,,,
and my pants are getting tighter and tighter cuz I'm eating anything and everything.
3 months ago Diane asked if I'd take over feeding the cats, I did and I've gained ten pounds from that, damn those Whisker Lickin's.

After the long day of cold yesterday at Epcot that culminated with the Henry episode, we weren't too sure just how to take today, Wednsday, an Animal Kingdom day and our last full day on the trip.

It's supposed to get up to about 62 degrees today, then cold again tonight which is also EMH night there.

Since we have a very early lunch at Yak and Yeti we decided to put Henry behind us and just play it as usual;
rope drop, stuff, eat, take a resort break, drink, back to park, drink some more, shows,,,,,, stuff, and leave.

And we did, it was nice.

Thursday morning; we got up.......

Ok, we made rope drop, wasn't too crowded and once again they changed things around,,,, now they held us at the very front of the park by the Oasis, and Minnie and Mickey and Goofy and the gang all did the welcome show from there.
I was able to grab a shot of the Christmas Tree on the way in,,,

FrigidNovember250.jpg

FrigidNovember251.jpg

No, there was no second rope drop at Discovery Island with Mickey climbed up the landscape in the distance.

Climbed?
How about clumb?
yeah, he clumbed up the landscape.

But they did go tell us, "Now, go have an adventure!"
I've always liked that for an opening, puts excitement into a young ones heart.

Old ones too.

We had everything timed for efficiency to use our time wisely before our 11 am lunch ADR, so we started with The Screamin' Kids Show hidden in the Tree of Tears, but there wasn't many kids or people in there first thing in the morning so it was the quietest we ever heard it.
Upon leaving the theater, I took a picture of the massive crowds all storming through Discovery Island on the way to Dinoland.

FrigidNovember254.jpg

THen it was into Dinoland for Primevil Hurl which it was way too cold to enjoy,,, and then into Dinosaur itself, which was way too bright out to be able to see anything in there and enjoy.
I was in a picture taking mood being the last day:

FrigidNovember257.jpg

I really considered climbing up on top of this guy for the picture, but common sense won out over valor in the end,,,,, and the fact my last painkillers are still in the room.

FrigidNovember256.jpg

We then went for a smoke and got seats out of the cold up in front to see Finding Nemo. ( I still think they misspelled the name and never caught it)

Nemo is always good, but we have seen it better, there was a different Crush and Nemo this time who didn't seem quite as good. It was then time for one more shot on the way to Yak and Yeti,,,, I've always liked this picture , thinkk I've takein it a couple times now.

FrigidNovember253.jpg

I knew we weren't going to make the lunch seating in time but we were only 10 minutes late and they seated us upstairs, near a window. What was nice was that a shaft of sunlight was streaming in through the window and oh did the warmth feel good.

Now, as far as the food is concerned here?
I'm not sure how to answer that.
I'm not sure the food is concerned about anything here.

"Thank you Mr. Nebo for your always direct and to the point critique."

We passed on the appetizers like we usually do on the dining plan now.
I think the only time we violate the "no appetizers" personal rule we have is over at Le Cellier when we go for the Cheese Soup, but that's because that's become a ritual.

I can tell you that you don't want to miss the dessert here,,,,fried won tons,,,,,,, very rich, and very good, we both got it.

I got the bbq pork ribs,,,,,, which were ok, I probably like Flame Tree ribs better. These came with fried rice which was,,,,,, well,,,,, rice.

Fried.

Now, Smidgy did the take a picture thing again,,,,,, and I don't know what she took a picture of,,,,, all I know is it definately came from something on our table, and since she isn't here right now to help me sort this out I'll just post it as the "Mystery Picture."

FrigidNovember258.jpg

I'll have a better idea myself when it's posted and in a much bigger size than I'm looking at in my PBucket album.

Allright, it turns out that the reason I couldn't remember what Smidgy had was because she had the ribs also, yes, this chapter is written in two stages. I have a feeling the mystery picture is of the won tons.

Well, we would go back again, especially if we could get an upstairs table. If you timed a lunch just right, and you got a good window seat,,,at just the right time,,,,,,and pigs started flying,,,, you could watch the Jingle Jangle Jungle Parade from up here.

And don't make me say that again!

When we left it felt really good standing in the sun, so we hightailed it back to the resort, just in case we had the same sun at Pop that we have here in Animal Kingdom.

That sentance not so dumb as you smarties might just be thinking right now, I've seen suns that will shine on some faces and not on others!
I have sat in the sun for hours and not gotten anything but my friend walks out and joins me for 20 minutes and he's fried, just because the sun doesn't like Irishmen.
Or he likes them too much.

Back at the resort, we are pleased to find that the maid hasn't come,,,, we have had a battle the whole time with the maids,,,,, for some reason, they just hate it when you slip that "do not Disturb" card in your lock.

We just don't need the room cleaned that oftern,, and besides,,,,she's got that bed so made up so tight and short-sheeted that it's totally useless being used as an actual bed.
I have to go around the bed and pull everything back out again just to get in it, the only person I know that could possibly get in it the way she has it is Gumby.

And besides, I think she's the one that steals one of my socks everytrip. That's ok cuz that cute liitle origami wash rag doggie goes right in my suitcase first thing now.
SO there!

Today though, all is as it should be, an organized mess,,, jsut the way I like it!

Not only all that, it's kind of embarassing with all the liquer we have in the room for Diane, I'd just as soon strangers don't have to see it if you know what I mean. :rolleyes1

Here's what the beds should look like:

FrigidNovember247.jpg

Now, they have taken much needed shelf space away here at Pop,,, Ha,,,, that won't stop Smidgy!

FrigidNovember248.jpg

Then, there's the matter of the vanity area,,,, now, I would have thought that a maid would be afraid to go near this area but oh no,,,,they thrive on this area,,,,this is their
K-2,,,, a real challenge I guess.

You can always tell when you get a "happenin" maid,,, she's the one that puts the toothbrushes on a folded over washrag facing each other, with one upside down.

But it's also where I keep my blood pressure meds,,, believe me, if you hide these out of sight you will forget to take them cuz you won't be in the groove that you are at home. That's why they have to be out there up front and personal, so you don't forget to take them and explode somewhere in public.

FrigidNovember249.jpg

There wasn't a cloud in the sky,,,,and it suckered us right in. We changed, we grabbed our towels, ane we headed to the sunny side of the pool.
And we froze.

The sun felt good when we sat down, but a group of whispy cirrus clouds formed,,,, right between us and the sun.
Group of clouds? Ok, what is a group of clouds called?
A pride of clouds? I know,
A gaggle of clouds.

Andyway,
boy, I can't type today.
Andyway? isn't that the main street that goes through ASMovies in the Toy Story section?

Andyway, the little bit of clouds would not move, and took just enough of the heat out of the sun to ruin it for us.

I found myself just staring at the edge of the clouds, trying to will them out of the way and move over, to no avail.

When that didn't work and I got tired of shivering and looking at the sky I did what I normally do when I can't be in control and things aren't going my way:

I went and started drinking and took pills.

I made sure to come back out with the camera though, just one,,,,,,, more,,,,,,,, time,,,,,,,,, today:

FrigidNovember259.jpg

Does anybody want to explain the concept of "sunbathing" to Smidgy?

cya

Smidgy's just soakin' up her vitamin D (as opposed to Sunny D) through her legs.
And what did you put in my head? "He can jump into any book, with his pony pal Pokey, too! If you have a heart, then Gumby's a part of you!"
Thanks for the update!

CONGRATS on the new grandbaby! My oldest is only 14 and if she gave me a grandbaby anytime soon I'd kill her... BUT I do look forward to grandbabies... someday... you know, when she is like 30. ::yes:: Until then give up some pictures so I can live vicariously through you! I love babies! :lovestruc

Mickey wants you to have sunscreen? Will a winter coat do?

You were lucky to get out of that stampede alive! :scared1:

You're right! It should be "Fond of Nemo"

If it was live lobster or crab or even oysters... they'd be concerned.

Say it again Sam... whoops! Sorry, Yak and Yeti not Marrakesh.

My DW used to make the bed to 'give the maid a break'. I had to tell her that she was forcing the maid to undo the bed to change the sheets and then make it again, thereby increasing the maid's workload. Since she doesn't read these boards I can now confess that I don't really know if it in fact does increase the workload or not, I just didn't want my DW taking up precious vacay time with making beds! :lmao:

Not only all that, it's kind of embarassing with all the liquer we have in the room for Diane

wouldn't wanna be ya! ... sorry... couldn't resist.
:goodvibes

Whoa.....I think you just called Smidgy "massive." :rolleyes1

yeah, he did,didn't he?
nebo has a way of going through the pictures, picking out the ones I look fat in, and posting them. (and don't anyone say "that's the only way to post a picture of you at all", that's nebo's job to say that!)

at ghome, I kept trying to move our ADR for Y&Y to a little bit later. I thought we wouldn't make it over in time from the frist Nemo show. no luck. I wouldn't even let nebo stop at the DSA by everest on the way for a smoke.. no time!

when we got there, it was pretty empty. they said we could have gotten there a little late. they always leave some tables open for walk ins! can you believe that? never heard that before.. but I think it's a good idea.

now armed with that info, I STILL didn't let nebo go for a smoke, cause it's a LONG way back tot he DSA. Aniaml Kingdom has eliminated TONS of DSAs! (not that it matters to us anymore, but I still think it's unfair. ) they took away the one by the DAWA bar, the one near Flame Tree, and the one that used to right near Yak and yeti.. you walked down a couple steps to get to it. I think it was by Andupaur (sp?) tea company? so those who want a smoke with a beer, out of luck. want a smoke after dinner? out of luck.

anyway, they brought us in, and upstairs. I think the downstairs wasn't open yet. they tried to seat us at a little 2 top right near the stairs, overlooking the railing it was very dark in that room, so I pointed to a room on the right, that looked very bright! the host kinda sighed, and agreed reluctantly.

I really liked the food there, esp. the dessert! I', glad they finally have a sit down restaurant at AK (although Nebo isn't so sure, since it would mean skipping flame tree) I like the ribs at Yak and yeti better. they also came with some kind of slaw, which was pretty good.

anyhow, when being seated in a restaurant, (much like being assigned a room at the resort), you usually don't have to accept the first one offered. after all, SOMEONE has to sit at the less desirable tables (or stay in the less desirable rooms), so they try to pawn them off on everyone first.

as far as the maids go, I only need them every few days. they always throw away things I want to save ;like crossword puzzles I haven't finished, newspapers I'm not done reading, empty sunny D bottles, empty "little" bottles... (yes Nebo even rigged up a funnel to fit into the tops of the little bottles, so we can refill them in the room...if only he had put all his creativity to better use....:rotfl:
andyway, I guarantee if I want to sleep in, that will be the day the maid knocks on the door and makes me sign something saying I "really" don't want to be disturbed!!!:headache:

Whoa.....I think you just called Smidgy "massive." :rolleyes1

I was not going to go there. I figured Smidgy would track me down no matter where I live and beat me to a pulp.... ummm.... I guess you'll be looking over your shoulder now, hunh? :rolleyes1

yeah, he did,didn't he?
nebo has a way of going through the pictures, picking out the ones I look fat in, and posting them.

Now there's someone you could beat up! ::yes::

ghome is where the gheart is. ;)

Never heard that either. New to me. :confused3

they tried to seat us at a little 2 top right near the stairs,

People who work/worked in the restaurant industry know and use that term but everybody else says, "a little table for two". It brought back memories. :goodvibes

andyway, I guarantee if I want to sleep in,

:lmao:

Yup. The Time Machine 1960. Don't follow NCAA so you're on your own there!

I'm back from my WDW trip and trying to catch up with your report, but had to stop and say Congratulations on the new addition to your family! 9 pounds sounds like a big premie!
I have always found that grandkids are the reward for not having killed your own kids.

Those wontons are the best!!!

They were good, better than zebra domes, I think.

Smidgy's just soakin' up her vitamin D (as opposed to Sunny D) through her legs.
And what did you put in my head? "He can jump into any book, with his pony pal Pokey, too! If you have a heart, then Gumby's a part of you!"
Thanks for the update!

Wow, I must have been spared cuz that doesn't sound familiar to me.

Hey, I remember that! Thanks! :goodvibes And I also remember that update! It made me laugh... again! :happytv:

I honestly feel like there's something wrong with me, (leave it) I'm having so much fun re -reading that old trip report, this is the first time I've done that to that report and I can't believe that was alomst 4 years ago,it seemed like just a few months ago.

:lovestruc

So... did Smidgy get any sun on her kneecaps that day?

Yep, no doubt about it, Disney owes us some pool time, and lots of it. I plan on collecting someway, somehow in September, boy, that seems such a long ways away.

Whoa.....I think you just called Smidgy "massive." :rolleyes1

Ah, you're the one that shoots the rubber band at the teacher and then points at the guy sitting next to you.

Mickey wants you to have sunscreen? Will a winter coat do?

yeah, pretty funny huh?

Clambored clumboriously.

:rotfl:

You were lucky to get out of that stampede alive! :scared1:

Yeah, Dinosaur is not exactly packing them in anymore. I really think they need to turn up the lighting inside, I know I can't see worth a feces but I've heard others say the same thing.

If it was live lobster or crab or even oysters... they'd be concerned.

Hold it, are you saying Won Tons have no feelings? These Wonties may have been snatched from their homes by the Yak and Yeti Death Squad, then put in cages and fattened up before being tossed in the deep fryer, never having the chance to say goodbye to their little wontons they raised.
Great, now I'll never eat a fried won ton again.
So just don't say nuthin' about the zebra domes, ok?

umm... no comment.

ok, I won't. Oops, I just did, didn't I?

No kidding! If you want to see maids circle a door like a flock of vultures, just slip that sucker on and voila!

Ain't it the truth. It's like it's a personal afront to them if you don't let them in your room. I suppose though, in retrospect, if you cleaned a room as many times as they do, you would eventually feel like it's your room too, certainly more than some tourists who are leaving the day after tomorrow or whenever.

:lmao:

Our big problem is that I usually have the bed by the door, which means I have to pass her bed on the way to the rest of the room and bathroom. And she ALWAYS knocks the folded over top bedspread onto the floor during the night, I can't begin to count the times I have tripped on this lump on the floor and almost done a header straight into the vanity.

Oh, yes, of course... it's Smidgy's booze. You wouldn't dream of spoiling the pristine wonderment that is Nebo with alcohol. Gotcha. ;)

Glad we straightened that out.

Dunno, I think it'd be cool to see you explode. Whooie! He blowed up real good! (where's that one from, hmmm???)

sounds kinda familiar, gimme a hint.

A condensation convention.

Or more appropo for this thead:
A condescendsion convention

No silly, it's what you say at the start of a trip. "Andyway we go!" (Yes, I know it's "Aaaaaaaaaaaand, We're Off!!!" but it wouldn't work then. :p )

It would for Jackie Gleason

So, now I want to know if Smidgy used andyway on purpose or not! Either way.... hysterically funny! :rotfl2:

I was wondering the same thing.

Yup. The Time Machine 1960. Don't follow NCAA so you're on your own there!

That one was easy for me, I've used the Morlocks in my reports a few times, plus, we have a sister in law named, Rowena,,, wanna guess what everybody calls her? That's right, Roni,,,,:confused3 I'm the only one that calls her Weena but it hasn't caught on.
Rod Taylor and Yvette Mimeaux,,,, yeah yeah,, YOU look up her name to spell it right. Poor Rod, he goes from Morlocks knocking him in the head to Birds pecking him in the head a few years later.

I'm back from my WDW trip and trying to catch up with your report, but had to stop and say Congratulations on the new addition to your family! 9 pounds sounds is a big premie!
I have always found that grandkids are the reward for not having killed your own kids before they reached adulthood.

You mean I had a choice? Now you tell me! Hey, you got a new ticker already up and running for the same time next year, I take it you like early March.

Wow!

And Janet's got a ticker going to, except she uses an abacus it's so far away.

Hi Janet. :woohoo:
