From Oil Wells to Jingle Bells-Bells,pg.66, See you in September!

It's the Kettle family, right? I have seen The Egg and I, once upon a time. Of course, it was already a really old movie by then:rolleyes1

The description of "Thrills" had me hyperventilating. I am SO claustrophobic. Here comes the TMI. I couldn't play hide and seek with my kids when they were little, because, to hide in a small space, I would need to wear Depends. That is how claustrophobic I am. so either I'll be skipping thrills, or I'd have to bring a change of clothes.

"But in this cabin, slowly your lips start pulling away from your teeth, your eyes turn into little slits, your face tries to join the back of your head and my glasses are now pressed right up against my retinas.
But Oh, look how sharp and clear the panel looks now!"

OK, you warned this wouldn't be funny - but thankfully you always come through! I once again literally "laughed out loud". :rotfl: Thanks for another good review - especially The Thrill of All... and Mission. It set it in stone I won't be doing either! ;) Looking forward to your next post. (Oh yeah - when did you finally reach into your pocket for the vics? LOL

thanks, dwheat!!! I haven't seen that clip (of ma and pa kettle) in years!
just goes to show what games you can play with numbers!!:rotfl2:

Yay! Another person who hated Captain EO. Saw it when it first opened and said then it was BAD. Everyone looked at me like I was crazy.:confused3

We like FIgment. It is one of Jimmy's favorites, then again he is 7 and doesn't know any better:rolleyes1

Still wants to know what is up with the moving/removing of the DSAs.

Hey FSmith, I finally went and checked out that thread you gava address for a while ago, now after playing find the terrorist at the airport I can play find the cops at Disney.

Ok, do I have this right? Your 7 year old has finished book seven with your help, now you want him to read books 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6,,,, in the next month or so?

Hey, why not make it a real challenge and have him read the Tolkien Trillogy of Lord of the Rings to boot? And throw in the Hobbit just for laughs! :happytv:

Sorry, let me try to explain better. I just finished book 7 by myself. Then, I read book 1 to the kids. Now, DS7 wants to see the book 7 movie, but I won't let him until he's caught up with all the books. So, I have to read him all the books in a couple of months. The kid is still working his way through Dr. Suess.:goodvibes

Ahhh, I got it. Good luck though, my guess is it's about 3700 pages your talking about.

I think it will work out just great with the Dr. Suess mixed in; One Snape two Snape, Red Snape Blue Snape, is one of my favorites. Along with, of course, Green Eggs and Polyjuice Potion. :lmao:

Hi Nebo. Just wanted to say that I'm still here and reading. I finally found a job, after over three years of not working, so I've been too busy and tired to post. The funniest thing though, is that my new supervisor could almost be your twin!
Finally saw Toy Story 2 last night so that I can watch 3 when it comes out on DVD. Going to watch Hercules over Christmas break with my step son. I'm really trying to catch up on some of the animated Disney/Pixar movies I've missed.
Keep writing! :goodvibes

Hi OKittySquared, that's great about the work, but is that a good thing or bad thing that your super could be my twin?:confused3 Must be a real hekuva guy!

ooh! OOH! call on me!!! the movie starred Claudette Corbert(sp?) and, I think, Fred Mac Murray? and introduced a hillbilly family that went on to make a few movies of their own.. anyone know??????(in one movie, they were amazed by a futuristic "push button house; Marjorie Maim(again sp?) was the mom)

Ok, If I ever saw the movie, I don't remember it, I just knew the title but I believe it is Claudette Colbert, and Marjorie Main. Did you have a bad night that you want to Maim?

bggk : some of my best memories were of my mom reading the "little house" books to us. so many people think you have to wait until kids can read themselves before you introduce them to books.... with tv, dvds, etc., the days of reading books "TO" your children have gone by the wayside.

That's right! You haven't read to me in a long time.

It's the Kettle family, right? I have seen The Egg and I, once upon a time. Of course, it was already a really old movie by then:rolleyes1

Danielle, don't worry about it. I bet next year it will be gone anyway. Save the Depends for when you really need them in 25 years.
(that sentence isn't going to win me any favors, is it?)

JUST KIDDING

I'm not really sure where the vikes went away, my mind was spinning at the time. I think it was still in Innoventions, must havae found a drinking fountain in there on the way to the smoking area.

Yay! Another person who hated Captain EO. Saw it when it first opened and said then it was BAD. Everyone looked at me like I was crazy.:confused3

We like FIgment. It is one of Jimmy's favorites, then again he is 7 and doesn't know any better:rolleyes1

I'm disappointed in you Janet for actually liking Figment, just because Jimmy did.
And if Jimmy jumped off a bridge, would you then follow him? Huh? Huh?

Still wants to know what is up with the moving/removing of the DSAs.

This one is easy; we are being weaned away, it started slowly but now it's excelerating. I PREDICT!
Six years from now there will be no smoking anywhere on Disney property, or any other theme park for that matter.

Audiobooks are my secret weapon. Now, we just need to go on a realllly long drive. Know anyplace about 20 hours away, neighbor?

My 10 year old still loves it when I read to him. Every night it's "C'mon Mom, keep going. One more chapter, please?!":)

Anybody else detect a wee bit of sarcasm in that tone of voice? :rotfl: Great post Elivabiff.

Who me? *she feigns innocently*

Once again, great installment. I never knew you were claustro and acro. Sounds like you could be the one of the next Marx Bros. }:-{'

You know, evey time I see your name in a post, my mind wants to say Fort Smith, but I know that's not right. So can I call you Frank instead?
I Will be checking out the pretrip report. But even after 17 trips down to the Mouse, I still enjoy sometimes being in Commando mode. Especially at MK. It can be fun, a challenge, to see how many things you can knock off in the shortest amount of time.

Good guess.. yes it is Frank!! ;) and yes you can!
Yes DW is the park commando, and I'm the Transportation commando.. Every trip we have made so far we have driven. Mostly I have, either left in the middle of the night and driven all night to get there mid morning (myself being very tired and admittedly very cranky). Last trip up I cashed in my accumulated Hotell points and we stayed over in GA on the way down and SC on the way back up. Made for a better ride for all...
THis time we're doing the same as you two and taking the "aluminum tube of death". First time as a family we have flown somewhere so ought to be an experience. (DD16 & DD8's 2nd time on a plane ever).

Honestly, I give her a hard time about the park commando thing but we have a great time always!! ;) And I have definitely been eggin' her on about the PreTrip where she's gonna "go wid de flow"!!! :D

Hey FSmith, I finally went and checked out that thread you gava address for a while ago, now after playing find the terrorist at the airport I can play find the cops at Disney.

yep.. I flew quite a bit a while back for work, and I can tell you I tend to do give everyone the once over and see where the threats are!! :rotfl2:

And since reading I'll definitely be on the lookout for the undercover security in the park as well. popcorn:: DW saw them at work at the POFQ when it appeared that a previous occupant of one of the rooms had effectively trashed the room. Not so much security, but the certainly had a swarm of folks come in with a new head board, paint, etc. to clean the joint up. not sure what they had done, but they were all over it to give the next guest a positive experience.

Yes I do, but I stil think you are going to be about 2000 miles short, unless you play them on fast forward.

Who me? *she feigns innocently*

What? You never heard of us?
We're the Marx Cousins, Claustro, Acro, Schizo, and Klepto.

and nebo, the one everybody forgets.

I knew it, I knew you were a Frank, you just looked like one to me.

You do realizxe you get no pity on the drive from me?
I wish I HAD the energy to be cranky when it's done. One thing I have gotten better about now is stopping for short breaks and potties, it used to be that the car did not stop until the gas tank was empty.
Now, I have a sign on the back that says, "This vehicle breaks for corn dogs."

"Quote"Always room for one more, but face it, most people take a trip and when they come back the last thing they want to do is read trip reports. Go ahead, prove me wrong."Quote"

I'm back from my trip! Got home at midnight last night and I'm already caught up on your TR so consider yourself proved wrong! :rotfl:

Trip was good but definetly had a few bumps in the road including a trip to the clinic because DD picked up pink eye somewhere in WDW... :sad2: A whole 24 hours wasted just sitting in our room (as I didn't want her spreading it around and the DR told me that after 24 hours of antibiotics she wouldn't be contagious anymore)... And after our 24 hour "time out" in the room, a bee sting that swelled up like crazy on my DD's head!!! So after visiting a walk in clinic somewhere in Orlando, we got to visit the first aid station at DHS!

Anyway, enough hijacking of your TR! Thanks for the great updates and can't wait to read more!

My parents were visiting this weekend and we were discussing this very same issue. My dad used to drive and drive and drive the old monster Oldsmobile with three kids from Texas to Ohio and he never wanted to stop. I guess I kind of inherited that from him. We were talking about this road we took when my kids were little and my parents were following behind in their car. My DD who was probably 5 at the time wanted to stop what seemed like EVERY 5 minutes. We got to the point where we were getting very upset and impatient :faint: with her....well once we got back home we thought hmmm we better go to the doctor :rolleyes1. Turns out she had a bladder infection :sad2: We STILL feel really guilty about losing our patience on that trip. Finding rest stops in Colorado are now very difficult so you have to go to fast food or gas stations and well, that just takes a long time with 5 people :grouphug:.

So, how long is Captain EO supposed to be at WDW? I can't stand Honey I Shrunk...either. Anyone know what the long term plans are?

And I thought I was so brave going on the non spinning side of Mission :rotfl:. Before every trip I see how everyone gets sick on the other side and just didn't want to risk feeling icky for the rest of the day. The Thrill sounds awful. You're a brave man!

Keep up the great report. Hoping you will be writing another report after your November trip :worship:

Hi DG, welcome back. Boy, sorry to hear about you daughter, to me that's a bit more than a bump in the road, losing 24 hours to me would be a head on collision. And yes, we have visited the first aid stations in the parks ourselves, and would you believe it, mostly for Smidgy, not me. Epcot's at the Odyssey Center is our favorite.
I'm confused by your tickers, you said you just got back, but the top ticker says you were there 18 days ago. ?
It also looks like from your bottom ticker that we will still be at Pop when you arrive in December, keep an eye out for us.

TJ, that happens to everybody, we've done the same thing with the kids complaining only to find they have a 104 degree temperature or something. I remember as a teenager telling my mom how sick I was and she just said it's a stomach ache, don't worry about it.
Two days later my appendix burst as they were romoving it.

I was wondering the same thing, I don't think it's been decided yet.

. Hoping you will be writing another report after your November trip :worship:

I don't know, haven't decided, maybe I'll just tag on some highlights onto the end of this report, we'll see.

Today is Smidgy's birthday, she's even older then before now, not sure if I'm going to get a chapter up tonight, if not, tomorrow for sure, we've got one more resort switch coming up.

I know, the 24 hour time out was annoying and expensive!!! I debated sticking sunglasses on her and going to the park anyway but I decided to be a responsible adult and not spread germs (germs that someone else obviously already spread before us) around WDW and put a damper on someone else's vacation!

The first aid station at DHS was very nice and the nurse was very kind and helpful. She did look at me funny though when, before she did anything, I asked if this was going to cost me anything... :rotfl: Not being from the USA, I had a bit of a stroke when I found out the cost of seeing a doctor at the clinic! so I wanted to make sure I wouldn't be charged anything for this bee sting! :lmao: (ok, I'm laughing at my DD's expense... I know that's not nice but she's used to it).

My ticker is confusing isn't it!! It's because we were in Florida for 21 days but only at WDW for 6 days and that was at the beginning of our vacation so although we just got home, we had been gone from Disney for a while! When are you guys going to be at POP in December? If our dates cross we should arrange a meet! My DD tends to trip and fall on imaginary lines on the sidewalk or her own feet so she would fit right in! :rotfl2:

Joining in late, I read all of your other trip reports first! Now I gotta catch up on this one! :cool1:
