Hey guys. I noticed some posts/videos talking about hanging out with your friends while your down there. It got me curious...do most people go down with people they know or do most people head down and make friends there? I'm not worried about making friends down there...but I was just wondering if most people already have their groups when they get down there.

Me and a friend of mine are planning on going, but she's run into a road-block and is not 100 % sure about this. We're really excited though, and I hope she can work everything out!!

I've been thinking about this too. I think a lot of people meet through facebook groups, the disboards, etc., but from blogs I've read and from what people have said about going down there, a lot of people do go alone. It sounds sorta like going to college- there will be people that go with friends, people that already have groups, but tons and tons of people who decide to do this on their own and will be brand new :)

My first CP, I went down with my friend (and we ended up rooming together). But for my other 3 CPs, I went down on my own. And I enjoyed meeting new people.

For this CP, I have met lots of people online (including my roomie-to-be). But I have never met any of them before. However, I am looking forward to meeting them all.

My co-worker and I applied and planned on rooming and everything and we both got accepted for the Fall 09 CP...but she got a call from Disney and they wanted her to come in June. So I'll have a friend there going in but I met my roomie and a ton of friends on Facebook. So I feel like I already have a group, not that I won't make more friends there, I would sugguest meeting people before you go cuz lets face it the whole thing is a bit overwhelming and to go into it totally alone would suck.

I'm going down with two friends myself... we're sooo excited!!! :D

I met people beforehand last time, and I did this time too. All via Facebook and the chats on AIM. I'm very excited :).

Going into a new situation is always overwhelming at first. But it'll all work out. Just be open and friendly, and you'll make friends easily :).

My fiance and I applied together.
I also met other students who are going from my school, at a meeting the campus reps held but I have only spoken with a few of them.
Also I have talked with alot of people through facebook.

The only person I had talked to before I went down was my disney-matched roommate. That worked out really well for us, because we were able to email and talk back and forth and knew that we would have at least someone down there that wasn't a complete stranger. But as soon as we got there, we met so many great people. It's really easy to make friends down there. :goodvibes

I went down solo but met some folks online beforehand, including the chicky that I ended up rooming with. It was nice to have someone to spend the first couple of days with, but we ended up not spending a whole lot of time together while we were there, and I made friends with some of our other roommates. I think it's fine no matter what :).
