The facts are still coming out...but she had had some sinus congestion and during the night must have vomited and then aspirated it. I am at a loss for words. Last night I just sat and rocked Samantha (who is just one month older)...so grateful to have her and hurting so much for this family who was going to bed (if it was possible) without being able to tuck their little girl in.

At our preschool we are going to put a gift basket together for this family...what are some things we can include?

And please take the time to hug, kiss, cuddle, LOVE your children tonight.

Amy, thats so sad. we've just had the second anniversary of my friends baby who died at 2 weeks.

I remember when they first came home from the hospital, they just needed to talk and cry with us and know we were there for them.

Maybe take round a meal or something for them?

I can't imagine. :(

I'm so sorry and sad to hear that news. My thoughts and prayers will be with the family. I can not even imagine what they are going thru.

The loss of a child, an infant, a baby, so sad. I can't imagine. My best wishes go to them in their sadness. An angel is in heaven.

Dan, you're right...this family will always have this angel in heaven to watch over them. Thank you for all your prayers and thoughts. I know they will feel strengthened.

My heart just hurts for them...we had just met not too long ago at our 5 yr old's preschool and talked and talked about our babies...you know how parents are....talking, comparing, and laughing. We just saw each other Monday at the end of the year party....such a beautiful family.

We are going to include some restaurant gift certificates in the basket...I thought I would find a poem and have it framed so they can display it. Other than that, I have no idea what else would help them.

Amy - the poem idea is lovely, my mum was given one when my sister died and she passed it onto my friend, it was very touching

Thoughts and prayers are going out for this family.

A suggestion for your basket could be a special album or keepsake box so that they can have a special place to keep their little angel's memories safe?

I like the keepsake box idea...thanks

Any more?

I'm so sorry to hear about that. I will say a prayer for them.
CindysGusGus idea of planting a tree in her memory is another wonderful "memorial" for her.

How terrible! So very, very sad. You mentioned a 5 yr old. Maybe you could put something in the basket for the child? Maybe a special angel or bear to remember her baby sibling?

So sad.

I can't even imagine what this family is going through...it truly is unbelievable.

I, too, was thinking of something we could do at the preschool...some kind of memorial....I think planting a tree is a wonderful idea. I will mention it to the director.

Claudia...I was thinking of a stuffed animal and/or a book.

Thank you all!
