My last update was 11:15 last night and I have to be away from a computer much of today so won't be able to post an update on Kyree's night until this evening (so sorry).

As of 11:15 he was still stable. Numbers still looking good. Thanks everyone for all he well wishes and prayers!

I was able to see Kyree tonight. He looks so fragile but still so much like himself at the same time. He is still on the ECMO. His stats are all still stable. His oxogen levels are good. The one issue he has is that the sedation medication is not as effective as it was. He starts to come to a little bit - just small movements and they had to sedate him 21 times today. While that seems good on one hand it is a hazzard because of the ECMO machine. It is critical that he stay very still.

The good news is that he is stable and both he and his mom got rest last night. Stable is so good!

Please pray that Kyree is able to remain sedated. Please pray that his lungs heal from the pneumonia and staph. Please pray that there are no complications from the ECMO machine.

Praying And to the previous poster who said God works in mysterious ways, thanks for sharing your story and I'll be praying for you and your ds too. My dd6 has had a mysterious high fever for 6 days now (usually over 102 but once 105.4) and my 2yo has had it since yesterday. They were boh negative for flu, but because of this thread I have been taking them to the doctor to listen to their chests more often. I feel awful for Kyrees mom. God Bless her. I pray for God to heal all sick children and give peace and hope to their parents.

CJBaby - glad you are taking extra precautions with your own kids. There is a high false positive with the flu. Having seen what Kyree is going through I think caution is definitely the best course of action. While I know his experience is not typical I hope quick treatment for others, when necessary, hopefully will minimize the need for the drastic steps that Kyree needed.

I sent prayers up that your daughters are feeling better quickly!

I don't have a more recent update than last night. that is a good sign and means that Kyree's mom was able to sleep. I have to go to work today and can't access this site so I will post an update this afternoon.

Continued prayer that the sedation is able to be maintained and that there are no complications from the ECMO machine would be wonderful - thank you all so much!

When a friend's brother was on a vent with pneumonia for a month, we used to comment that boring was good. Exciting is not good in an ICU except when it accompanies baloons and celebrations for patients 'graduating'.

Thank you so much for the prayers. You have no idea how much I appreciate them. My 6yo dd went to sleep with a fever and is still sleeping, but my 2yo ds is up and fever free since midnight thank God. I pray Kyree is home with his Mom soon and back to being a healthly, happy 5 year old.
