friend's 5 yr old son on a vent with pneumonia pg 20

Still praying in NC.
God's blessings to the entire family and their friends.

Still praying for Kyree and his family and friends. Will add a Rosary for him tonight. Hugs to all...

Bless his heart! Thx again for the updates. So sad, this poor little guy has gone through so much. Continued prayers this ECMO will allow the healing needed and Kyree will soon be on the road to recovery. My heart goes out to this little child, his Mom, family and friends, for strength, hope and faith during this very difficult time. Our Dis family is a powerful bunch when we ban together and I have faith Kyree can feel our prayers. Godspeed ^i^

Thank you all for the prayers and positive thoughts. It is helpful and I am sure that Kyree feels it. I know that his mom appreciates it.

Kyree is the same as the last post. His signs are all stable and within ranges that the doctors would like to see. So far so good - slow and steady will bring healing. The doctors are indicating it could be 1 - 2 weeks on the ECMO to get the healing needed.

Please pray that the ECMO machine has no complications. Please pray that Kyree's lungs begin healing. Please pray that he has a calm peaceful night so that Kyree gets rest and so that his mom gets rest.

Thank you again for all the prayers. You have no idea how much they are appreciated at this very difficult time.

Prayers will continue until this little guy is well and at home..

I look for your updates every time I get on the DIS.. Thanks so much for keeping us posted..:goodvibes

Ditto all the above. I was thinking about Kyree all day. It really helped me keep thngs in perspective. God Bless him and his Mom, and all who love and are caring for him. I pray that this will be his time for a quick and miraculous recovery.

I am so sorry to read that the little guy is still so ill. I continue to pray for his recovery. I do know someone who required ECMO and although it was a slow recovery, is now home and doing just fine.

Kyree had an uneventful night. His stats are staying steady which is exactly what we want. The hospital staff are indicating that it will take several days for his lungs to show improvement. Steady and maintaining is what hey are looking for right now.

Thank you for all the prayers and good thoughts. Please continue praying that Kyree has no complications from the ECMO or anything else. Please pray that both Kyree and his mom get to rest.

Thank you again for your care and concern!

Jewel

Thanks for your latest update on "our" little guy, Jewel. I think pretty much everyone on this thread has adopted him and we're not going to stop praying for him and his family until he's recovered and home.:flower3:

Oh, I am so happy to hear that he is stable. I will continue to pray for Kyree and his mom throughout the day today.

That's good news Jewel!

This particular thread probably helped us by making me mindful of infection. My DS11 is an Asthmatic and has been on his medication for a while now. I am always careful about the tubing etc and go the extra mile and rinse everything off in soapy hot water with bleach and then let it air dry before the next use. Technically the extra bleach disinfectant step is only for people with Cystic Fibrosis, but I do it anyway because I really can't imagine a good reason not to do it. Anyway, I was getting tired of all the bleach, it was messing with my hands and I was considering dropping the step. That is until I read this, so because of this I kept it up. Well, thank heavens I did keep it up because last week I had a spot I thought was a spider bite. But then I had more, and some more. Turns out I have a staph infection! I am my DS's main caregiver so I am always all over his stuff. Thank goodness I've been bleaching and washing so much. I could have so easily transferred the staph to his lungs by handling his equipment with dirty hands and thankfully didn't. I'm on heavy antibiotics and it's still on me but I'm keeping myself covered and using gloves now. Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting this. HE really does work in mysterious ways, you never know what influences people in a positive way huh? More prayers on their way from here.

LuvOrlando - how nice of you to share that story. I will pass that on. I am so glad that you got things checked out and I will be praying for YOU as you recover. Staph is a scary thing.

Dizz - I know what you mean. I think Kyree has many adopted family members out there. I can't wait to post when he is finally well and awake - we can all have a party!

Dana - thank you that was kind.

Everyone that has posted. Thank you for the warm thoughts and abundant prayers. I know Kyree feels them and his mom is so appreciative.

Kyree is remaining stable. His vital signs and oxogen levels are staying right where they need to be. They don't wan't to move him much, because of the way the ECMO is attached so they won't do many xrays etc and wouldn't expect too much improvement to show in his lungs just yet. I hope my updates stay this calm and redundant for the next week because stable and steady is what we want right now.

Please keep praying that there are no complications from the ECMO machine. Please keep praying that his lungs heal from the staph and the pneumonia. Please pray that his mom can be at peace enough to get some rest. Please pray for the medical staff. Yesterday there were some major heroics while preserving Kyree's life. Most of the nursing staff stayed beyond their shift. Amazing group there. I can't imagine their job working in a peds ICU.

Thank you again for all the prayers!

Jewel

God's hand is planted firmly upon Kyree. He is hearing the fervent prayers of so many.

We all can't wait for that update of "He's awake- and so much better!"
Looking forward to that much anticipated day.:lovestruc

Until then, I'll just say some more prayers.:lovestruc

Praying for a night filled with God's peace in Kyree's little room.
