Friendly reminder to check, and double check those waitlists

I know this has been said before, but just figured I'd give everyone a friendly reminder to check and then double check those waitlists you are on.

When the 11 month window opened, I tried to get a BW view studio at the BWV, but couldn't get it for my entire stay. I wound up getting three nights in a garden view studio followed by five nights at in a BW view studio. I requested to be put on a waitlist for a BW view studio for the three nights I had the garden view.

Yesterday, I called to make arrangements for Magical Express on some of my other trips, so I asked the MS cast member to confirm my waitlist. Imagine my shock when I heard him say, "I have you on a waitlist for a BW view studio for the nights of Dec. 8-14." I currently have a BW view studio for the 8-13.

So, they put me on a waitlist for a second room for the nights that I already had, which would have resulted in them borrowing points to cover the nights!

And on top of that, my new waitlist is effective yesterday, so I'm sure I'm further down on the waitlist than I would have been if they had done it right in the first place.

So, just a friendly PSA to double check those waitlists to make sure they were set up correctly!
 
When we were on a waitlist for Xmas the MS Cast member recommended that I call often. I asked if twice a day was too often and the CM said "No, many people will call once in the morning and once in the afternoon." I followed that recommendation and it was surprising how quickly the waitlist came through. :thumbsup2
 
When we were on wait lists last summer, I was so nervous, as a new member, that I emailed MS through the member website to confirm that I was on a wait list for the resorts and dates I had asked for.

I received the email back from them confirming it. I figured that since I now had it in writing, at least if there was an issue, I had proof as to when I had asked to be put on it.

I think that sending owners something like this should not be that big of a deal, just to make sure there are not any issues.

But, calling on a regular basis is not a bad idea.

Emailing! A great idea! Perhaps as a followup to a phone call to verify what transpired. If its in writing it exists! :thumbsup2
