That music is a snooze fest. At one time Epcot had the best fireworks on the property. This current thing they're showing almost puts me to sleep. Their nighttime show still is better than the AK, thought. I'm just amazed that I saw people lining up 3 hours early to watch Illuminations this last trip. Hop the monorail and watch Spectromagic and Wishes in the same amount of time.
But when I was there last week they left messages on our phone that they were going to be testing state of the art fireworks overnight, so don't be alarmed.
I don't remember what the show was called but early on when there was a pause in the fireworks show at Epcot, instead of looking at a globe with horses on it those green lasers actually danced to classical music like "Flight of the Bumblebee".

Oh look...little red is getting into some bad bananas(or whatever it is fake elephants eat)!!! Go help!
and leave the trip planning suggestions to the connoisseurs
My ranking...
1) Wishes/Spectromagic (MSEP was better, but management doesn't ask my opinion...)
2) Fantasmic (I wish they did SITS every once in a while there still)
3) Illuminations (never said I didn't like it...if the other parks are closed early, and there's nothing else to do, it's entertaining in it's own way. There's just better options and if you have a short trip I'd rather make sure I did the parade/fireworks at the MK than the nightly 'extravaganza' at Epcot. It's just not top of the heap like it was 20 years ago.) I did like the night time parade they had at Epcot about 5 years ago (Tapestry of Nations/Dreams) My wife's cousin's kid called it the 'Wayla Wayla' parade.
No....did I mention I got popcorn buckets from all four parks this trip. They're like $3.75 and we figured they'd be a nice thing to keep some of Joey's toys in. The problem is, I was there for two weeks, and we decided on this the last day (we already had two), so I had to get two of the buckets on the last day. I ate a lot of popcorn before the flight. Now that smilie makes me a bit nauseous.

Good Morning Wheatman! Duck, you know I like you, but you are kinda odd. Does your wife take meds yet and do you hear that questions often? Nnow heres your hug, please don't get pregnant
Ah...a short-timer. I've been going to WDW since about 1973 I'd guess. I still can't get an exact answer from my parents.
This is my dad at the WCC, so should I really expect them to remember something trivial like a year?
He's in his 60's and hasn't learned to not stick his nose into his shake.
Anyway I've been going pretty much since the place opened give or take a year or two.
The first time we went, we stayed at the Contemporary. I hate the place. My dad (because that was the first place he took his kids on a trip to WDW we stayed there, and he'll always have those memories) loves the place. I mock him openly. It's a gift.
I think the show they had at Epcot was better years ago. Now if the show they had now was all I ever knew, I would think it's great, or if the first time I took my kid I shared a special moment with him at that show, I'm sure that would always be special to me too.
