French owned?

Does anyone know if Universal Studios is owned by a French company? Before visiting I wanted to know. I was told they were owned by Vivendi-Universal which is reported to own Universal movies and all of Universal amusement parks.

EVERY thread about the whole "anti-french" and whatnot got locked. Vivendi is french, but Universal is american, and that's what your basis shoul be. Vivendi is also trying to sell Universal. I'm not saying anything more.

Looks like more than trying to me! I wonder who the winner will be. Although the last couple days I have been reading they arent in a huge hurry to remove all their interests. They want their cake ($$$) and eat it too. Who would want cake if not to eat it...silly saying I think!

Who cares if it is French owned! As DM said it is employing Orlando residents and is a great park.

It appears General Electric is interested in buying 80% of Vivendi/Universal to add to NBC.

If they reach a deal Vivendi would still keep a 20% share. But GE has an option to buy them out completely in 2008-2009.

What I am curious to know is how this is going to affect the parks! I know I have to wait and see but still I'm curious.
