How soon will Disney announce their cruise schedule for 2004 for the 4-day Wonder?
Was the Freeport stop just temporary or will they do it again in 2004?
If yes, when will they announce the schedule?
THANKS!!!

Tony,

The past couple of years, after listing as 4-nite with a day at sea... DCL then renewed their contract with Freeport, continuing with every other week as a Freeport stop... ( wished I had known this when I booked!!!) You may want to pick a week based on the fact that Freeport stops could continue???

Hope this helps!!!

The Disney site doesn't have the Freeport dates for 2004 yet but I noticed that the All Seasons Travel site has them listed. Maybe they are just speculating at this point. My May 23,2004 cruise is listed as a day at sea.

If the May 23 sailing is a Freeport stop and I counted back properly, my March 21 sailing will include a stop at Freeport. What do you suggest to do/see in Freeport? Is it as bad as I hear Naussau is? I am almost ready to just stay on the ship based on the posts about Naussau. Trouble is......16 and 15 yr old really want to do Jetskis and I suppose they will be able to if we go to a beach. Can you post the link to All seasons travel? I will look for myself. Thanks .....Melissa

I spoke with the cruise agent on board the Wonder and here is the official information as best as anyone knows. The contract with Freeport ran out this Spring and Disney stopped listing it. The Bahamanian (spelling?) government begged Disney to finish out 2003 and Disney agreed. The condition that they would continue after Dec 2003 was that there needed to be a dock built in the harbor of Freeport proper. There has been no progress (or talk) of a dock to meet this requirement as so Disney sincerely doubts they will continue the stop after 2003. Believe that?

I did not think Freeport was as bad as Nassau was...we did the Lucayan Beach day and we really loved it.

So without the "New Dock" in Freeport, do they Tender you to shore or is their an "old dock"?

Right now you dock in an industrial area....surrounded by what looked like sand processing plant - very loud...you are not really in Freeport. It is docked, however.

It is also the cruise ship grave yard as a dozen ships up for auction or scrap are docked there.

In May the boat right next to the Wonder was Big Red Boat II, the cruise line that started using Port Canaveral in the 1980's that Disney helped bankrupt in the 1990s.
