Freeport/Nassau ?'s Tour Info needed

HI,

Has anyone done the tour in Freeport for the Lucaya Beach Resort. I have been trying to find a website for them and can't. I wanted to know about the waterslides and what the resort was like?


Also, where is the best place to take a 5 year old snorkeling for the first time, Nassau, Freeport or Castaway Cay?

One more - Atlantis - should we or shouldn't we and how should we go about it.

I vote Castaway Cay! We have taken a 5 year old and he loved it! Go EARLY so there's lots of fish, clear water, and not as many snorkelers.

I did the Lucayan Beach day and we really enjoyed it. They did have a water slide but I couldn't tell you what it was like since we didn't go on it...but it was inside a big tower. The pool there is great, it was uncrowded and VERY large. The beach was a few steps away. As far as a child that small snorkling I would go with Castaway Cay for that!

In reference to Atlantis, if you plan on going to the beach I'd have to recommend buying the wristbands... we didn't take an Atlantis tour, therefore weren't allowed to use the beaches in front of them, they are very secure about it too, they have "people" at every corner waiting to tell you that you can't. We were shooed to the public beach area, which wasn't the safest feeling to me. It's down the street, through the trees where two guys are sitting (amongst the trees) to ask you if you need anything, then follow you down to the beach where the hairbraiders are waiting to harass you. I'm not saying that they are shady, but the two guys could have robbed us blind and no one would have been around to see it... It was just the two of us, so maybe that's why I felt a little uneasy, no one else was around.
