Freedom to Marry Day Protest Planned

Does it make me a bad gay man if I have NO idea where that song is from? Because I've worked hard for my membership card and don't want to jeopardize that. AND I refuse to give back the Official Gay I-pod that was me welcome gift. You can have the eye cream and hair gel though. Too stinky for me.

Are you trying to tell me there's no product in that coiffeur.:sad2:

First the song, now this made up word "mulligan."

I know not what you speak, but I'll just nod my head, smile and do my best to be pretty.

In friendly golf if you play a really bad shot you are allowed to take a second go at it, typically a limited number per round. If you try watching Rick I recommend following Englidhman Ian Poulter he has a rather interesting dress sense.
:rotfl:

The truth is no one really does know.

And yet there are places in Israel, such as the site of the Crucifixion in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, where you get the unmistakable feeling something terrible happened there. It's just an overwhelming feeling.

That's about as close to a sure thing as you're going to get in the Middle East.

Could that feeling just come from expecting to have that feeling?

Look, when I was 16, I almost died in a car crash, when I go to that spot where it happened, I get a terrible, awful feeling. But if you, not knowing what had happened to me in that spot, happened upon it, you would probably just think it was a really pretty apple orchard in rural NH.

I'm not going to get into the debate of this thread, because no one is going to change their mind so I find the whole thing pointless to argue about anyway.

A pointless argument but surely we are all her because we enjoy a mass debate.

No, not in my case and my DH had the same feeling.

It's that TV show silly. Mulligan's Island
I liked Ginger best.:thumbsup2

ack nevermind, LOL, yes the first day of the week thing. So okay Sunday, but He was not crucified on a Friday. But what is interesting is that Mark 16:9-20, and it is in Mark 16:9 that actually states He rose on the first day of the week, The most reliable early manuscripts and other ancient witnesses do not have Mark 16:9-20.

I always liked the Professor best, who in hindsight, was probably in the closet. Not unlike my very first "boyfriend" - sweet, brilliant, funny, decent, moral, but unfortunately for me, gay. :(

:lmao: Your kidding right? If not, who are you to tell anyone else their lifestyle is "immoral"?! So anyone who doesn't follow "god's" path is basically doomed?

NO. See John 3:16. Those who choose to accept the gift of salvation thru Jesus' death on the cross will have eternal life.

So what is the Ginger vs Mary Ann equivalent for gay guys?

See, Joe, this is the damage you are doing. You DO make people think this. You and other Christians like you. :sad2: Is this how Jesus drew in the masses? I think not.

They already think this about anyone who says that gay lifestyle is a choice.

Jesus drew the masses with the Word of God, but many, many rejected Jesus.

I'm thinking there must be a version of the Bible that reads:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life (except for gays).

And

Judge not lest you be judged (expect when it comes to gays - then it's OK to judge)

Stating the rules is not judging.

Jesus died for ALL, and ALL can have eternal life.

Jesus spoke the word of God and attracted the masses.

But you *aren't* speaking the word of God. Nowhere in the word of God does it say "the gay lifestyle is a choice." When you say things like that, you are actually turning people away from your religion.

Note: Words of Christ that drew masses (you may want to compare to your own posts and note the contrast):

"But to you who hear I say, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,
bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.
To the person who strikes you on one cheek, offer the other one as well, and from the person who takes your cloak, do not withhold even your tunic.
Give to everyone who asks of you, and from the one who takes what is yours do not demand it back.
Do to others as you would have them do to you.
For if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them.
And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do the same.
If you lend money to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit (is) that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, and get back the same amount.
But rather, love your enemies and do good to them, and lend expecting nothing back; then your reward will be great and you will be children of the Most High, for he himself is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked.
Be merciful, just as (also) your Father is merciful.
"Stop judging and you will not be judged. Stop condemning and you will not be condemned. Forgive and you will be forgiven.
Give and gifts will be given to you; a good measure, packed together, shaken down, and overflowing, will be poured into your lap. For the measure with which you measure will in return be measured out to you."

Your post in and of itself is answer enough to your very own question.

Just an aside, but I absolutely do laugh out loud whenever I hear this sort of "argument". :rotfl:

You laugh because you can't refute it nor the hypocracy of the "tolerant" gays.

Stating the rules is not judging.
Joe - your posts are not just stating rules. They are full of judgment. If you honestly do not wish to be judgmental in your posts, you need to change your style.

Do you not realize how judgmental you come across in your posts?

Well, what a fine thread this has been. You all can argue about anything, can't ya?

I am not going to say much, since I would wind up getting in trouble, I am sure, but I can honestly say that it saddens me that there are so many judgemental people in the world. How hard is it to live a good life and mind your OWN p's and q's without worrying what your neighbors and, even worse, complete strangers are doing?

Truly sad.

Mark isn't the only Gospel that lists Jesus rising on the first day of the week. It's also listed in Matthew (Chapter 28...verse 1 mentions it being the first day of the week), Luke (Chapter 24...verse 1 mentions it being the first day of the week), and John (Chapter 20...verse 1 mentions it being the first day of the week). ;) Mark 15:25 states that it was the third hour when they crucified Him. Between the 6th and 9th hour, darkness filled the land (which would have been the middle of the day). At the ninth hour, Jesus cried out, and He died. All within the same day. The day would have been Friday...when you take into account that the first day of the week was Sunday, the day before was the Sabbath, and the day before that was the Day of Preparation.

In Jewish thinking, a part of a day is equivalent to a whole day. Genesis 42:17 states that Joseph held his brothers in prison for three days and in verse 18 states he spoke to them on the third day and released them. 1 Kings 20:29 says Israel and Syria camped for 7 days and then on the seventh day the began battle. Other passages--Esther 5;1, 1 Samuel 30:12--show similar thought. So Old Testament language shows the expression "three days," "third day," and "three days and three nights" are used to express the same period of time. Rabbinic literature shows the same thing. Rabbi Eleazr ben Azariah wrote in 100 A.D., "A day and night are an Onah (period of time) and the portion of an Onah is as the whole of it."

Amen!!!

But you see bigots are selective christians if they can be called christians at all. They select the passages in the bible that support there hate and ignore the passages that cut down all of their hateful arguements. These are KKKristians.

If there's no bar, I'm in Hell.

Polygamy was legal under Jewish law until the 11th century

Judaism
Scriptural evidence indicates that polygamy, though not extremely common, was not particularly unusual among the ancient Hebrews, and certainly not prohibited or discouraged. The Hebrew scriptures document approximately 40 polygamists, including prominent figures such as Abraham, Moses, Jacob, Esau, and David, with little or no further remark on their polygamy as such.[22] The Torah (the first 5 books of what Christians call the Old Testament) includes a few specific regulations on the practice of polygamy, such as Exodus 21:10, which states that multiple marriages are not to diminish the status of the first wife; Deuteronomy 21:15-17, which states that a man must award the inheritance due to a first-born son to the son who was actually born first, even if he hates that son's mother and likes another wife more;[23] and Deuteronomy 17:17, which states that the king shall not have too many wives.[24] One source of polygamy was the practice of levirate marriage, wherein a man was required to marry and support his deceased brother's widow.

In the modern day, Rabbinic Judaism has essentially outlawed polygamy. Ashkenazi Jews have followed Rabbenu Gershom's ban since the 11th century. Some Sephardi and Mizrahi Jews (particularly those from Yemen and Iran, where polygamy is a social norm) discontinued polygamy much more recently, as they emigrated to countries where it was forbidden. The State of Israel has forbidden polygamous marriages, but instituted provisions for existing polygamous families immigrating from countries where the practice was legal.
