free upgrades PE?

I was just wondering if anybody on here has ever managed a free upgrade to PE??

I always watch the advert on TV and smile(is it that easy?)
I know theres no harm in asking, and if the plane isnt full, then there must be a chance.

Me and DH are seriously thinking of upgrading to PE with Vigin in May with our trip to Vegas.

Anybody had any luck?.

Hi Jules,
We've been lucky enough to be upgraded several times to PE and 1st but for lots of different reasons. eg once we were travelling out with our disabled DD, another time we were lucky enough to turn up in smart clothes when some upgrades were going but we've NEVER been upgraded by asking!
We flew out to Las Vegas in May and the flight was packed and showed no availability in any class so presumably those who can afford to gamble can afford posh seats!
Having said that I wished we could have upgraded because the stag parties on board were a nightmare! (Vegas is great tho)

We've been upgraded a number of times but then DH is always travelling on business and spending money with the airline plus the first time we were upgraded two months earlier the plane he was on had had to make an emergency landing.

We've been upgraded a couple of times from PE to Upper, but never from Economy to PE. And we've never asked.
