free tickets to Kennedy Space Center

I just found this. I had no idea such a program existed.:thumbsup2

I just e-mailed my congressman. I will let you know what he says.

I know I am early, but I want to have plenty of time to fix any snafu that might arise.

Just emailed my congressman! I hope it works. It is dh's birthday when we go and he would die to do this!

Thanks for this post and can anyone tell me exactly who is best to contact for these tickets? I'm not clear if it should be Senator, Congressman, or Representative? Is there one that would be better over the other??

Thanks for a great post, I had no idea this program even existed! I have been a huge NASA supporter since I first saw the movie Space Camp. I won't say how old I was because just knowing about that movie shows my age as it is. :cool1: I also had no idea your congressman could help you get tickets to a launch. I have a good friend running for congress in my area and I might have to bug her about that when she wins office. :worship:

It's a shame we are flying in too late the day before the cruise to take advantage. This would still be a great minivacation if the airfare prices are right for later next year. I would love to see a launch but even to visit the KSC would be awesome, especially since there aren't that many launch opprotunities left.

Thanks again! Great post!

I just sent an email to my congressman. I'll let you know when I hear back. Fingers crossed!

For those who are not getting a response or not having any luck with passes, are you making sure you are asking for passes for the visitor's complex only? The congressman's office may think you are wanting passes for a shuttle launch. (which are hard, if not possible to get.)

Make sure to clarify you want passes for Kennedy Space Center Vistor's complex only.

Good luck!!

I got my response today! Says we need to give them the date we want to go. I am ok with that, woo hoo! Here it the response:

NASA does offer constituents complimentary passes to visit the Kennedy Space Center (up to 4 people) through their Members offices. Please submit the following up to six months in advance of requested tour date.

Contact name for reservation
Address
# of adults
# of children (ages 3-11)
Date of tour

Confirmation will be faxed to our office once processed.

**NASA has reached its monthly allocation and is no longer accepting requests for March, April, and June**

Thank you

Anyone who needs information for Kenndey Space
center tickets. This is the information that you should gave to your congressman for the tickets. . I Followed it and I have may tickets. Good Luck:grouphug:

I requested tickets from my Congressman, 3 weeks ago and was notified they were granted for 10/21/2010, today.

So it definitely works! Good luck everyone!

I'm so bummed. I just spoke with my congressmans office and they said they weren't aware of any such program! He looked into it but came back telling me it would be $43 a person. Can anyone help?

Mr. Malaguti:

Good evening. I’m writing from the office of Congressman Rob Wittman. I checked with NASA, and we can submit a request for up to four (4) complimentary passes for tours of the Kennedy Space Center for constituents. Would you like me to try to do this for you?

Best,

Gordon Neal

I requested tickets from my Congress person's office but was told that the October 2010 requests had been filled and no more tickets were available.

Thanks for posting this wonderful info! I emailed my congressman's office (to the staff asst who handles White House tours..got the info off his website). Figured I would go ahead and send in a request now b/c Mar 2011 (spring break) could get full! She responded in about 2 hrs, saying she fwded my note to KSC and that they are now on a lotto system so she won't hear back until about 1 month prior to our arrival.

Here's to hoping we get them so I can save that $$ for the cruise!

I just found out we got our free passes for November, but it took months!! First, my congressman's office had no idea what I was talking about. I actually referred his assistant to the DIS. He did a lot of research, and found out you can only apply 6 months in advance. I checked back with him in May and he put the request in. It took until just the other day to finally get the confirmation. I got a letter from NASA that was fax to the congressman's office stating our tickets would be waiting for us at will call. It cover 2 adults and 2 children, to all attractions for two days, although we will only be there one. I am so excited!!!!! Thank you to the DIS!!!!:cool1:

My DMIL was also told this week that there were no more tickets for Oct. They gave her a hard time at first so I was at little curious to see if they didn't just tell her there were no more just so she would stop bothering them.:)

I requested tickets for the Launch on 2/26/10 and we are on a wait list.:thumbsup2
We don't have our flights purchased yet, so now we will plan to fly in 2 days before our flight, just in case we do get tickets. Not really expecting them, but you never know!

We tried last year and got the runaround from bothe Congress people and our SEnators in New York. First they told they didn't know anything about the tickets then referred us to the other branch of Congress. We paid our own way and had a wonderful time. I would reccommend everyone go at least once. We spent one and a half days at the visitors center and a half day at the astonaut museum.

I live in Delaware, and I'm waiting to hear back. The assistant wasn't sure about the program, but now I have better wording to give her if she doesn't find anything.

I e-mailed my Congressman. I got a reply from an assistant in DC. He doesn't know anything about it, but is looking into it. He said he e-mailed a contact at Kennedy today. So, we'll see what happens.

Hopefully, he will come back with a positive reply.

I'm in NC and didn't even hear back from my congressman. Oh well, I think I'll take the kids to the beach the day before my cruise as I don't want to spend $160 for half a day at KSC.

no luck in NC, they are not aware of any tix available,:sad2:

I e-mailed all of our representatives last November for tickets in January. I never received a response. I'm curious to see if anyone in NC had better luck that I. :confused3

I sent a request on the 28th of this month,& got a response the next day. Hopefully we get them:
