"Free" product ads

Have you ever clicked on one of those ads that offer free products that are at the top of some web pages?

If so, what did you get and what did you have to do to get it?

Try not to! My DD went to a "custom cursor" site and now we have this stupid adware that I just cannot get rid of! I'm using spyware and my McAfee protection so it stops most things but I can't figure out how to remove it (the add/remove feature doesn't work on it).

I NEVER click on anything - especially those "free" links!
