Free Poise Pads!!!!!!!!

I guess Walt Disney was a firm believer in stocking up on free Poise incontinence products. I never knew that.

It seems really odd to me that a very important point, that the pads would be donated, was missing from the original post.

Seems un-Disney like to take something you admittedly don't use away from someone who does, and then lie about their intended use.

So the important point was that I was donating them? Please return to 3rd grade English class. The important point was THAT THEY WERE FREE.

I realize this is the Dis-Boards, but I cannot stand when someone takes someone good (a post about free Poise pads) and turns it into a reason to degrade someone else; I refuse to be accused of doing anything wrong

Actually, he said an important point was missing, not the important point. And your post made it seem like you took them merely because they were free, not because you intended to donate them.

People have every reason to be skeptical. As seen so often on the DIS, a poster says something people don't agree with. And then, in an effort to backpedal, that poster comes back with details that change the whole story.

My reading comprehension is fine, thank you (in fact, sometimes it's so keen I read things that were never either written or implied - but that's a topic for another thread which I'm not revealing on the grounds I could incriminate myself ).
The important points are

• you obtained four items free for which you have no current or immediate foreseeable use
• you commend yourself for not using all the coupons but instead leaving some for other shoppers (who might actually have a current/existing need for the product)
• you obtained four of this item you don't need because you like even numbers - but two is an even number as well
• only after being criticized for taking advantage of a free product you don't need/use did you come back and mention donating to a homeless shelter - so intended or not, this appears to be a backpedal/defensive statement

The couple of sites I found in a quick search of what to donate to a homeless shelter mentioned feminine hygiene products, but nothing about incontinence products - for women or men. YMMV.

You care about OP buying four boxes of Poise .........why???

"depriving" people....... "justifying" the deal. REALLY????

For all any of us knows, the OP is on the board of the homeless shelter, and they are in dire need of Poise. Just because someone read a list of homeless shelter needs and Poise wasnt on it, doesnt mean that her area shelter couldnt use a couple of packages.

I seriously, dont see the big deal of someone getting four package of Poise. I always say to each their own and this is a good example.

If you shop at the Stop & Shop near the OP, be warned there are four fewer coupons than there could have been...

Companies give away free items with the expectation tha the recipient will go on to purchase the item.

A few years ago there was a big to-do online: sites like Fatwallet and Slickdeals would post offers for free items (and those posts would make their way around the Internet, including the Budget Board.

Companies were (a) running out of the items much faster than expected and (b) not reaching their target audience. Regular, everyday, ordinary people were angry that they couldn't get their free stuff because it ran out or because some sites put restrictions on who qualified.
