Free MagicBand slide for AP holders

I know that there are lots of DVC AP holders, so thought I would post here. I guess I have not been reading the forums very carefully lately because I did not know we would be getting free slides that say "AP" on them when we order our customized AP MagicBands. I almost didn't even get the AP bands because I already had 4 of them, all of which are supposed to work. But I decided to go for one of each color and when the box arrived I was shocked to see the little slides. I guess that the upside of being a sloppy reader is that it was fun being surprised!
P.S. Also included was an ID card for AP discounts and free parking at the theme parks.

I didn't know about this either. I just got the mailer a week or two ago about ordering the AP magic bands. Didn't do anything about it yet but now I will. Thanks for posting about this!

Jean, you are special!we have 2 new sets of MBs. Our trip is late next week. We do not have AP bands in either box!

The AP Slider is only package with MagicBands ordered as a Passholder and those orders just started in March.

There will also be a parking/discount card in the AP packaging. It's kind of redundant since you have to have an active AP before you can request the AP MagicBands.

Oh goody, now I have 3 from the fall, 9 from this summer's vacation, 1 set I gave back in February so they could recycle them, and 3 for our fall dates and 3 more for the passholder...gosh I wonder why this is so expensive, lol!

A total of 21 magic bands for three people in less than one year...

These are AP bands, separate from the ones we got for resort reservations.

I got these too. I really like the slider. I customized my AP bands. They are different from the bands we are getting with our resort ressie.

Sorry for the confusion -- my question was directed at Bobbi who stated she didn't get the AP slider on the bands she ordered. I was thinking that she probably ordered bands associated with her upcoming reservation and not the AP holder bands that you ordered. I wanted to alert her to watch for the mailer because when I got the mailer two weeks ago I ignored it thinking, I already have bands, why are they offering to let me order new ones? Then I saw your post today and realized the mailer was for the newly issued AP bands and that they come with sliders!

You should be able to go to your MDE account online and click on "MagicBands and Cards" and see at the top of the page a choice to customize MagicBands. Under "Affiliation" it says "Disney Passholder." The slides are not very big and could easily get thrown away. I did initially throw away the ID discount cards because I didn't realize they were inside literature at the bottom. Between MagicBands for DH, myself and all of the family members whose accounts I manage I have opened a LOT of these boxes and didn't think I needed to look at any of the paperwork. Luckily for me I recycle everything I can and I found the cards when breaking down the boxes for recycling.

Decorative. Also, if you put it on the part of the band that overlaps, it will help to insure that the band does not pop open and fall off. I am also hoping that when I buy things that are eligible for an AP discount, CMs might notice the slide when I tap to pay and ask for my AP ID. I often forget to ask for the AP discount.

Thanks Jean for this thread! We arrive in 19 days and I knew nothing about an additional set of MB's. We've received our resort bands. Who knew there was more than one.....
We did receive the mailing but I just thought it was in regard to the MB's we've received in the past. I've just completed the necessary adjustments and our new AP MB's will be on their way within 48 hours.

Bobbi - if your trip is still 10 days out, then there's still time for you to receive yours, too.

Thanks Jean. I didn't know about the slide and I just customized our AP bands. I previously didn't take that step because we're already getting two sets of bands for May and Oct. I hope eventually Disney stops giving multiple bands, it is a waste of money.

We have PAP. I see nothing about "Affiliation Disney Passholder." I have looked at our passes as well as upcoming reservations with MB's to customize.

Jean...thanks for the info on this. I found that since we only have AP vouchers they wouldn't let me add the AP band customization. Still, it seems kind of cool.
