Hi Guys

So in the UK we only usually ever get free dining offers and 14 day tickets for the price of 7.

We get free dining mostly every year and I was wondering, when do you think they will do free dining for 2012. So bummed that I do not qualify for the existing offer at present (as we are a family of 2 and not 4 :( ) and I really want to book our trip for next year, but am wanting to wait til they put free dining on the website. Do they normally do it at the beginning of a new year e.g. January 2012?

TIA
Stefy :)

Hiya, did you mean the 2013 free dining as the 2012 offers are running at the moment. I now you get free dining through the summer up to 18 November 2012 at the moment

What? No! :( Please don't tell me that the only offer for free dining for 2012 is the one for a family of four? :( I only have a family of two.

When exactly are you wanting to go?
I don't understand why being 2 and not 4 means you cant use the current offer:confused3 (probably booking for 3 of us to travel next August this weekend)

I suggest you give Disney a call - I don't think it matters how many are travelling- I think they use a family of 4 as an example to give you an idea of how cheap it can work out but there is no minimum number.

It does not matter we are a couple and booked for free dining may 2012 :)

Hi
Not sure where you've read your info but the extract below from Disneys site only mentions a minimum of a 5 night stay in the appropriate resort and everyone in your party qualifys for free food.
We ourselves are a party of 3 adults and certainly got it ok.

You got to be quickish now though as the current offer ends November 15th.

"Dine for Free • $150 Disney Spending Money • 14 Disney Park days for the price of 7
Why not stay between 1 January - 26 February, 1 May - 18 November 2012 to take advantage of these magical offers.

Book your 2012 Walt Disney World holiday before 15th November 2011 to enjoy these fantastic offers.

Make your booking for a minimum of 5 nights including tickets, and everyone in the party dines for free for your whole holiday if you book either a Flight inclusive holiday or a Disney Resort hotel and ticket package plus you will receive $150 Disney Spending Money. Receive Disney Quick (Counter) Service Dining Plan when you stay at a selected Disney Moderate Resort, or receive Disney Dining Plan when you stay at a selected Disney Deluxe Resort."

I am a family of 2 - one adult and one child so not even two adults. I have booked free dining 3 years in a row with no problems. I also know of more than one person who has done a solo trip and had free dining so you are not disqualified at all. Who told you this?

I think it's as Irene P says: Example is a 'standard' family of four, not a requirement

Thanks guys, I think I will give Disney a call later on today :)

You can also get prices online, all details n their site of free DDP.
http://wdtc.disneyinternational.com/Disney-Offer.asp?Promo=2

You book a room then add tickets, if you add 1 ticket you get free DDP for 1 person, 2 tickets free DDP for 2 people.........
Not sure who has told you its for 4 people. For best value then 4 in the room is better but nothing to stop just 1 booking.

You can get flight inclusive prices or book flight seperate yourself, usually cheaper.

Hi, i'm her husband and what she saw was what you had linked too online. We clicked the link to book now, went through the process of picking AKL, room type, tickets and then it came to the screen where you choose your dining plan. Now maybe I am wrong on this, but usually it already highlights what you are getting in the package marked as included, and then has costs for upgrading as well?

It is not showing anything like that now and even when you choose standard dining and click continue, it doesn't even deduct the plan from your total. So I think that's why she was thinking it was for a family of four promotion. She can book this over the phone no problem, but online just doesn't seem to be right somehow. This is the screen im talking about below.

When I try it a number of other ways including just hotel, then adding tickets and then no dining plan, it still doesnt automatically add a free dining plan. It is weird, but not the end of the world as we can just book over the phone. Thanks for the replies though.

You are correct. It wont deduct the plan. As you go through the process you have to select your tickets (i.e. 5/7/14 or 21 days) and select your Dining Plan (shoudl be auto selected). It won't deduct the total from the cost - it simply doesn't add it on. Have a look at the total when you have added your tickets. Then on the next screen add the DDP and when you hit continue, the total should stay the same.

Just tried the dates we want July 21st -Aug 11th no problem, adds the free DDP but change it to the same dates as you 6th-16th Nov and it doesn't give your the free DDP, obviously some error with their site as its available upto the 18th Nov.
Maybe ring them and tell them there is an error, see if they can fix it.
Booking online will get you 3% cashback via Quidco. Doing it by phone would cost us over £200 in lost cashback.

Please forgive me, I was struggling to read the screenshot but I can see now that it had not auto selected. What happens if you just select it? Watch the pricing totals at the end of the page. The only other thing I can think is that AKL is sold out of their quota of FD rooms for those dates  although that would surprise me.

EDIT: Ignore - Wayne has answered the question :-)

Thank you both for checking it for us, I knew I wasn't going crazy. I think I have a quidco account, though I don't think ive ever used it. Not sure how the whole process works with regards to claiming money back etc. I might let Stefy have a crack at it since she's the smart one ;)

Cashback usually takes 2-3 months, you can either accept it thru BACS or to a Paypal account. I am getting around £50-60/month on average, £1.50 for an insurance search, a few pence everytime I buy anything on Ebay, £13 on car rental. I love Quidco:goodvibes

There is an 'issue' with the online booking system and if you book near to the end of the dates you have to book by phone and they adjust it manually.

Reason I booked with Complete Orlando and not Disney in the end as without the cashback CO were cheaper.

Lol yeah sorry for the small image, I am at work and couldn't be bothered to log into photobucket and upload it properly :rotfl: It does sound good, we have recently gotten married and i'm sure you know how expensive that can be, every penny helps sometimes so making savings sounds gooooood.

We have never booked with a travel agent before actually, i've been tempted to look into it because they can add discounts to your reservation as and when they become available right? I think we usually just book all with Disney as it's just a couple of clicks and we're done.

If I got it right CO were only £9 cheaper than Disney for this booking but Disney would give the $150 gift card, CO wouldn't. Thats without any cashback
