So I see all of these posts about people using free dining? So what is the catch? Is there only a certain time of the year you can use it? Do I have to be a part of some group (annual pass holder..etc.)? Where can you eat with it? Are there a lot of restrictions? :confused3 :confused3 It sounds too good to be true but I know a lot of you use it so please help me out!:thumbsup2

Not too good to be true!! My mom finally admitted to me this past week that up until we actually went to our first table service meal at Disney last September, she didn't believe me!! :rotfl2:

Check the resort you're interested in now and start making your ADR's! We're going in September to POR for 8 nights, 9 days (second year in a row :goodvibes ).

FWIW, I got two Garden View rooms at the Poly for five nights in September with the DDP over the weekend, so there are still good rooms available.

The main catches are that you have to visit during the heart of hurricane season, and that you cannot apply any other discounts to your reservation. So it is just a $38.99 per person per day discount. It is really a great deal for those staying at the less expensive resorts, since that adds up to a greater percentage discount than is generally available. At the more expensive resorts, "free" dining actually saves some guests less money than some of the percentage discounts that have been made available.

I felt the same way last year. I had come across the deal on mousesavers.com last year when planning our trip. I thought that it must be too good to be true and there had to be a million hoops to go through. I called Disney and the nice CM laughed when I asked what the catch was. Did I have to stay at a certain place? Were menus limited? I was thrilled to find out it was the same old DDP, just free!
