free dining w/ 8 day tkts- upgrade to AP when i get there?

so i just booked a 9 day trip w/ 8 day pk hoppers for 2 adults and 1 child. would i be able to upgrade ALL tkts to AP's when i get there? how would they do it? or should i change my ressie to include 1 day passes for all & just order the ap's??? help!!! we do go on several trips per year, and usually on a whim, we have ap's that expire on 3-19-06 and are not renewing for the discount....help! is it worth it?

Yes, you can do this, just not at your hotel. After you check in and are issued your Keys to the World with the park hoppers encoded on them, take them to Guest Relations at any of the parks or Downtown Disney, and you'll be able to upgrade them to APs there. You can upgrade any ticket as long as what you want to upgrade to costs more than what you're upgrading from. The free dining has no effect on this, because the computer won't care how you bought those park hoppers, only that you have them.

If it helps, I am really thinking of confusing Disney... I may do this and upgrade my ticket to an AP and my DBF's ticket to a 4 day park hopper.... If we go this will probably be the ONLY trip he makes this year.

I'm doing the same thing. My AP expires in September and I'm heading down with my mom and sister and we are getting 7 day park hoppers. I'm planning on using the 7 day park hopper to re-new my ap with.
