Hehehe..I thought that might get your attention. ;) :rolleyes1 Anyway..in all the many, many years ( I test rode Space Mountain-THAT's how many years!) that I have been going to WDW, I have never gone at a time when free dining was offered. So I have been researching, hoping that it is offered for my late August trip.

I read Pumba's great info page, and this question was addressed..

"Can I share meals with other guests on the Dining Plan staying on the same hotel reservation?
There is no clear answer to this. Consistently, guests seem to be allowed to share the meals ordered on the Dining Plan amongst the guests at their table, with the exception of fixed price meals, such as buffets or other all-you-can-eat options. However, this question has been asked directly to Disney via email, by a number of guests, and consistently, they have answered this question by saying specifically that, "sharing is not permitted." Despite several attempts to get clarification about that statement, no clarification appears to be forthcoming from Guest Communications, and nothing official has been released by Disney Dining to resolve the confusion. Ask your server."

Since there doesn't seem to be a definitive answer to this, I was wondering if anyone had tried asking if they could do this? I am thinking this scenario. Last day, we have 2 adult TS left, 1 child TS left. (Don't ask me how we came about this, I have no idea.. ) We have 2 adults, an 11 year old (sorry, I just can't refer to him as an adult, no matter what we have to pay for his tickets!), and a 9 year old. Two adult meals and one kids meal would be more than plenty for us...I was wondering if they would let us share these meals, or do they require a purchase of another adult meal for the 11 year old who somehow came up without a TS for the last meal..

Confused??? Sorry, hope someone can sort it out. I just want to know that even though it sounds officially "iffy" whether you can share a DP meal, if anyone had talked a server into allowing it? This does not include buffets or fixed price meals..I KNOW you can't share those!

Thanks!

If your asking can you share a meal on the DP. The answer would be no.

I thought you could share a meal as long as you are sharing it with the people/person on the same plan. Whenever I go my 2 older kids share a meal because it is too much food. We never have any left over because they share for breakfast and lunch.

If it's her and her husband and 2 kids and they have 3 credits left over, why can't they share? I know you can't share with "other people," but I thought you could share with your family (or whoever) that are on the same plan/reservation as you.

Can someone clarify (for me)?
Thanks!

Actually, what I was asking in my very round-about-way was if anyone had been allowed to do it. It seems that the rules are up to the server you get. Disney's official answer seems to be "no", but relating back to Pumba's post, (the bolded area), it is "consistently" allowed. I just wondered how consistently, and if anyone had been allowed to do this. I'm not looking for a way to break the rules, I would definitely ask before just doing it. Just wondered what the success rate is for people that have asked. No harm in asking..

Thanks for the info!

I think the real answer will be "it depends"...some places will allow sharing & even bring the food out on two plates. Others will tell you no.

You really don't have to tell them you're sharing, though, or even ask. People have varying appetites and don't always eat at restaurants. Perhaps if you order a beverage out of pocket for the person that's without a credit that day you'd be o.k. You can always claim one of you is just not hungry enough to order a meal...once you have the food on the table, the
plate-police :scared1: will not come slap your hand for helping yourself to a tablemate's food.

This is what I am thinking. My son will be considered an adult so will be ordering adult meals. The kid can't even finish half of a kid's meal. We hate to waste food, so it would be best (I know it will drive me crazy keeping up with it) for us to share as much as possible. I guess we could walk in and ask, then just use the number of meals they say we need to. I just like to know things ahead of time.
