Free Dining V Annual Pass Discount

DF and I hope to go back next September 2010, we will be given annual passes as part of our wedding package, will I be better of using our annual passes to get a room discount or buying tickets to get the free dining?

How does the annual pass discount work, do I just book the hotel as normal then ring up nearer the time to ask them to add whatever discount is out?

I'm so confused!

Hi Claire - It depends what resort you stay and what discount you get. If there's just two of you, a discount might work out better than free dining. You would just book the room you want then ask them to apply the discount when they are released. Sometimes they won't, so you just cancel the room and re-book another.

I noticed that Disney are offering a huge discount and free dining on SSR and OKW for 2009. It would be a good deal if they offer it in 2010. I think they released it last August for this year.

Another option might be to use your AP to get a discount and also to buy a Tables In Wonderland Card. That would give you 25% discount on all your food, wine etc.

we used the TIW card and it was great.

We didnt think much of the discounts last year when we wanted room with our annual pass

They seem to be doing more free dining offers than AP discounts just now but could totally change by next year.
This year we have OKW at £91/night incl regular DDP for 3 of us, at that price its worth us giving up AP's this year and buying 21 day tix.
Last year offer was not as good so booked AKL with AP at £81/night.
Next year free dining is not tempting me yet, it was the OKW/SSR offer that hooked me, prices next year DDP offers don't look cheap to me.
Makes it more difficult when you already have AP's. good luck.

Hi Claire - It depends what resort you stay and what discount you get.

We'd prob go for a Moderate Hotel this time.
