free dining question

I would like to book our trip for middle to late August 2010,staying at POR. If free dining comes out after I make a reservation, can I add it to my package? Is POR usually a resort that would offer the free dining promotion?

Yes and yes, as long as your dates are within the FD promo dates. There will be some indication of the starting date for FD 2010 if this year's free diner's get a bounceback offer in their rooms.

We booked a bounceback last year while there, but the beginning date was 8/23. When FD opened up this year the FD began on 8/16. However, with the new extended dates (book by 7/26) looks like that early week is booking up and FD is available for check-ins starting 8/22. In other words, be open to moving your dates a little when the FD promotion comes out if it doesn't match the dates you've already booked.

Yes! We just did this for this year. We already had reservations, free dining came out so we changed our package to add that. We had a 40% off room discount code and had to give that up to add the free dining, but for five people it was worth it. You can't use free dining with any other promotions.

Any reservation at an on-site resort (except for Swan, Dolphin, and Shades of Green) is eligible for the free dining promotion. If I'm not mistaken, free dining can't be added to a pre-existing reservation; the old reservation is cancelled and a new one created.
