Free dining promo for May (2020)?

I know it's early yet, but I read there was a promotion for a free dining package for this past May. Is this typical for that time of the year? We just booked for 5/17-23, 2020, hoping for at least the one meal discount. I also have Disney Visa, but didn't book using it. If I at least make a payment using the card, would this count toward any Visa discounts?? Thank you!

It sounds like what you're thinking of was a promo for one free QS per person per night if stay, not a true free dining. In '17 and '18 this was offered starting right at the end of May but was essentially a June offer, so I wouldn't call your dates "typical" for that promo.

That said, this year's free dining was completely shifted because of SW:GE, so I would say all bets are off.

As to the Disney Visa, past deals have required you to use the Visa for the deposit to get the deal. If something new comes up that's card-specific, you could always put down a new deposit for that package and cancel the reservation you have now.

Thank you! I may just call them and have them change the deposit payment to the Disney Visa or see if they can cancel and rebook! Just in case!
