Free dining package is more than same package without dining??

I was double checking my reservation the other day and discovered something strange. I am taking my boys May 27-June 1st, and booked with free dining. I played on the reservation site a few days ago and did the same trip without free dining and it was about $160 cheaper. Obviously my free dining is a great deal, but why is it more expensive that a comparable trip? Am I paying tax on the free dining portion?

No insurance on either. I am on the phone with a CM and they don't know either?? Hopefully I will know when I get off hold as they are researching now.

OK, I'm tired and forgetfull. When I booked at a value with free dining I upgraded from Quick service to Disney Dining. The cost difference was the upgrade amount. Sorry
